When three thirtysomething friends with woman troubles (Luke Wilson, Will Ferrell, and Vince Vaughn) decide to form a fraternity, it's supposedly to save Wilson from losing his house, which the nearby college is trying to claim for academic purposes. But really, Ferrell and Vaughn are desperate to return to the reckless, feckless days of beer bongs and hot chicks, and they drag Wilson along with them as they throw themselves into gathering frat pledges of all ages. <I>Old School</I> could have been just another string of bad jokes hanging on a flimsy plot, but the script and the cast have a jovial energy and just enough grounding in reality--at least, up until the obligatory beat-the-system ending, but by that point you'll forgive the excesses of this silly, cheerful, and frequently funny movie. Featuring Jeremy Piven and Juliette Lewis, with cameos by Snoop Dog, Andy Dick, and others. <I>--Bret Fetzer</I>

Animal House? Get outta here.......2007-05-23
Must be 40 yr olds that think animal house is some devine movie, The younger generation such as I(28)know that Old School is waaaaaaayyyyy better! no contest. i've seen both and I personally Think your a dumbass to think animal house even compares to old school, and someone should take your keyboard away and ban you from amazon! Later Losers.
A Homage That Doesn't Really Work--2 1/2 Stars.......2007-02-26
OLD SCHOOL is a comedy that stars Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Will Ferrell. Wilson portrays Mitch Martin, a real estate lawyer who arrives home early from a business training seminar to find his wife about to participate in an orgy. This break off their relationship and Mitch finds himself alone again and moving into a house on the campus of the local university. Meanwhile Frank Richard (Will Ferrell), one of Mitch's best friends, is getting married. The other part of the trio, Bernard "Beanie" Campbell (Vince Vaughn) tries convincing Frank not to get married right up until Frank's bride arrives at the altar. Beanie has a successful business and is married to a very attractive women and has a couple of kids, but he's feeling trapped. The Dean of the University, Dean Gordon Pritchard (Jeremy Piven) threatens to seize Mitch's house, but Beanie discovers a loophole in the seizure clause and Beanie, Frank, and Mitch turn the house into a new fraternity that is open to men of all ages in the community, including those who have no association with the university whatsoever. A battle between the new fraternity and the dean ensues, while in the meantime the three founding fathers of the fraternity face relationship struggles of their own with the women they love.
OLD SCHOOL includes allusions to many movies, but seems to have been most heavily influenced by ANIMAL HOUSE and FIGHT CLUB and seems to be a homage to both of those films. The ANIMAL HOUSE allusions are obvious, e.g. popular fraternity that the dean tries to close down. The FIGHT CLUB references aren't quite as obvious, but they are there and there are many. For example, the wrestling matches take place in the basement, club propaganda is photocopied at work, the men appear disheveled at work, in many of the fraternity scenes Vince Vaughn dresses in outfits similar to those of Tyler Durden, etc. In fact director Todd Phillips has said that he thought of OLD SCHOOL as being a comedy version of FIGHT CLUB.
With such a talented cast and a witty script full of film references, one would think that OLD SCHOOL would be a memorable and hilarious movie. Unfortunately, it's not. There were some parts of OLD SCHOOL that I found incredibly funny. For instance, watching Will Ferrell streak through a party and run naked down a public street was hilarious. In fact, Ferrell is the funniest thing about the movie. Just about every time he is on screen I found myself laughing at the antics of his character. I also enjoyed Luke Wilson's performance. Wilson portrays Mitch as a very likeable, down-to-earth, and realistic person. However, Ferrell and Wilson are about the only two characters who work well in the movie. Vince Vaughn can speak almost as fast as an auctioneer, but his character just doesn't fit with the rest of the characters in the film. Jeremy Piven is a very talented actor, but in OLD SCHOOL I don't believe that his character used to be the guy that Mitch, Beanie, and Frank used to beat up and neither do I believe that was able to rise through the ranks of academia to become the university dean. Most of the women in the movie are only background characters that are used as fodder for comic material. There are a variety of scenes in the movie that seem funny at first, but are juvenile at best and then quickly become boring and dull. There are many sexual references in the movie that have very little to do with the plot and seem basically to have been thrown in simply to have thirteen-year-old males buy movie tickets or the DVD. The movie had a lot of potential, but it doesn't come together in a coherent manner.
However, with the movie on DVD, one can get a better understanding of what the movie could have been. Some of the extras on the DVD include the usual director's commentary, a spoof of "Inside the Actor's Studio", deleted and extended scenes, bloopers and outtakes, and a making of featurette. Most of the deleted and extended scenes that are included on the DVD probably should have been kept in the movie because they add a great deal to the characterization and plot development. For instance, there is a scene where a college girl wants to sleep with Beanie, but he refuses. The scene in the movie makes Beanie seem like a complete jerk while the extended scene allows the audience to relate to Beanie and actually seem him as a human being. I really enjoyed watching most of these scenes and they allowed me to appreciate the movie a bit more. The other special feature that I really liked was the "Inside the Actor's Studio spoof". I found it hilarious; seeing Will Ferrell have a conversation with himself as two different characters is hilarious.
Overall, OLD SCHOOL is a movie that will probably appeal most to teenage males and some college students as well as fans of Ferrell, Wilson, or Vaughn. Other than that, I'd skip this comedy and watch ANIMAL HOUSE instead.
Whilin out.......2007-02-21
It's a great want to get drunk and hang out with the guys (and I'm a girl)kind of movie. It will just make you laugh and laugh and laugh. And possibly want to relive glory days of college, or just act stupid. It's a toss up really. Great hanging out movie.
Lowered Expectations.......2007-01-07
What, are you people high?
Have any of you even SEEN "Animal House"? How dare anyone compare "Old School" to that great movie. Are expectations so low for modern movies that something with a few funny scenes gets five stars? And if you do give it five stars, what rating do you have for "Animal House", "CaddyShack", "A Fish Called Wanda", "Fast Times At Ridgemont High"..... really great comedies?
We know Will Ferrel can be funny (Saturday Night Live), we know Ben Stiller can be in a good comedy (There's Something About Mary) and I still believe Vince Vaughn will eventually be in a good movie....but how many Ben Stiller/Luke Wilson/Owen Wilson/Vince Vaughn CRAPTACULARS do we have to sit through before they make a truly funny movie?
Don't worry, I already know I am on the outside looking in on this one. I just don't understand it.
One of the Funniest Moviest Ever Made.......2006-12-25
I've seen it a hundred times and it is always funny. Every scene is great. Each one outdoing the the last. Look at the look on Mitch's face when he is standing in the KY Jelly Wrestling Ring. It is classic. Every actor and actress in this does such a great job to make the whole insane story believable. This is definitely one of the greatest works of comedy ever made. It is on par with Anchorman, Harold & Kumar, The Big Lebowski, Road Trip, Starsky & Hutch, Wedding Crashers, Saving Silverman, American Pie, Waiting and Oh Brother Where Art Thou?

<img border="0" align=left src="http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01/dvd/aplus/iceage/iceage5-300.jpg">The love life of a woolly mammoth--handled with G-rated delicacy--drives this sequel to the first computer-animated romp in the age of prehistoric mammals. While the first Ice Age took a delightful premise and suffocated it with a formulaic plot--in which a mammoth named Manfred (voiced by Ray Romano, Everyone Loves Raymond), a sloth named Sid (John Leguizamo, Moulin Rouge!), and a sabre-tooth tiger named Diego (Denis Leary, Rescue Me) helped an abandoned human infant return to its tribe (basically, Three Mammals and a Baby)--the sequel takes the now-familiar setting, gives it a shapeless, episodic storyline, and yet somehow becomes pretty darn entertaining. Faced with the threat of a flood from melting ice, our heroic trio are on the run to escape from their blossoming valley. On the way, they meet a female mammoth (Queen Latifah, Bringing Down the House) who thinks she's an opossum and get menaced by some freshly defrosted carnivo! rous fish. Customer Reviews:
good comedy.......2007-06-17
Hmmm..... I thought Ray Romano was the star of the movie? After all, he's the one who played the voice for the main character, a giant self-conscious mammoth. For some reason, amazon doesn't list his name as one of the stars.
Hard to believe, but I didn't know what a mammoth was before watching this movie. At least, I didn't know they were huge elephant-like creatures.
The animation in the film is probably the main highlight, and the thing most likely to grab your attention. Why? Because there's nothing else like it. It's almost life-like. In fact, the atmosphere is nearly identical to the empty and quiet sound you'd hear if you were to step outside and walk through a giant icy land. Every time the squirrel tries to retrieve his nut, you're treated to an eerie silence, with no music playing- just sound effects. Very unsettling sound.
Anyway, despite that, this is mostly a childrens movie. Adults might find it funny for a few of the lines from all the movie stars that give their voices for the animal characters. It's funny and exciting, and that's what a good animation film is supposed to do to be a success.

I bought this for my great grandson for his birthday. I'm sure he and his brothers enjoyed it.

Amazing Blu-ray DVD and Really entertaining animation for the whole family! .......2007-05-21
I have to tell you that I have watched the standard dvd version and I thought it was great. I then bought the "Blu-ray" Version and it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Excellent picture quality. But, (don't you hate it when there's a "but") I wasn't able to hear the audio on my Sony 5.1 Dolby Digital Receiver because it was presented in DTS instead, The French and the Spanish Audios were both both presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital but the English only in DTS and NO 5.1 Dolby. But why? that was a little disappointing. So I was finally able to find a way to go to the DVD player manu ( I own the newest Samsung BD-P1200 BD player) and switch the audio to PCM instead of Bitsream. Otherwise, the disc menu did not have an option for English unless you have a DTS receiver.
SUMMARY:
Pros:
1) Funny and entertaining Movie.
2) Excellent Picture quality.
3) One of the very best Blu-ray DVD.
Cons:
1) Price-why pay about $28 for ONE movie, when most competing HD DVD's sells for $19.95 and for $27 you get a Combo DVD that plays on Both HD DVD and standard and still offer and DELIVER more advanced Audio and Video encoding.
2) No English Dolby Digital Audio Support.

piece of enjoyment. The Ice Age - The Meltdown continues the story of the principle characters from the first epic animated story, and adds new characters and relationships as the story of the "Meltdown" unfolds. This episode adds a love interest for Manny the Mammouth.
Scrat continues to amuse everyone in his quest to retain his acorn through all kinds of difficulties. He certainly has some bad luck, but continues on like a good Timex watch!
I just love this group of characters.

<I>Road Trip</I> is a mostly agreeable, by-the-numbers teen flick with a handful of inspired sequences, most of them involving MTV's resident disturbed soul, Tom Green. It concerns a sleepy University of Ithaca student named Josh (Breckin Meyer) who accidentally mails a video of his sexual encounter with an infatuation (Amy Smart) to his longtime girlfriend (Rachel Blanchard), who's seemingly avoiding him while at school in Austin, Texas. Naturally, he recruits some buddies--Seann William Scott as the lech, D.J. Qualls as the hopeless nerd, and Paulo Costanzo as the doper genius--to hit the open highway and intercept the package. Even more naturally, mayhem ensues: A car explodes, a bus is stolen, a nerd is deflowered, French toast is horribly violated, and an elderly man bogarts both pot and Viagra.
The film's humor is more democratic than politically correct, as everyone--women and minority characters, not just the hipster white guys--have a hand in the high jinks. Green plays Barry Manilow (no, not that one), a professional student (eight years and counting)--he relates the film's story to skeptical prospective students while leading them on a tour of the college--and thrill-seeking dork extraordinaire. In particular, in an already justly famous sequence of scenes, he sadistically anticipates and endeavors to accelerate a mouse's demise at the jaws of a python. It's very much in the vein of <I>American Pie</I>, perhaps a smidgen tamer, but at least its characters don't really learn any dopey lessons in the end. Director and coscreenwriter Todd Phillips, who earlier made the much-questioned documentary <I>Frat House</I>, again proves he's more adept at staging fictional comic sequences than real ones. <I>--David Kronke</I>

Road Trip (UNRATED).......2007-05-07
Another one of my top favorites, Halarious through the entire movie, i cant stop laughing everytime i see it.
When American Pie Was At Its Height, There Was Road Trip.......2007-03-12
If you like the typical teenage comedy, then you should give this movie a try. It does fall for some of the routine story lines that are in every movie like this, but it is still a funny movie. The best part is probably when they visit Tom Green's grandparents. I never can get over the dog that talks, lol. Overall, like I said, if you like teen comedies then you will like this movie. Avoid it if you don't
Very funny.......2007-02-28
I found that this movie was very funny. Everyone knows that it isn't the goal that is really important, it is the journey there and that is what is very funny about this movie. It is the changes in the "nerd" of taking chances to stealing a van to finally standing up to his father that I found most vindicating. It is also the changes in the guys girlfriend that he is getting the tape from and how thier relationship has changed too. What is very funny is the physics student making a calculation in speed of the car so they can get across a washed out bringe. I do recommend the unrated version of this movie to anyone that a good laugh in a movie.
Ah, to be in college again.......2007-02-19
If you're into party movies, go ahead & add this one to your DVD collection. It has everything you want in a party film: an outlandish plot, funny scenes, Sean William Scott, the classic "nerd" character, some gorgeous babes, male fantasies and lots of gratuitous nudity. Of the latter, seeing Amy Smart take her shirt off is worth the price of the DVD all by itself!
Party movies are not the types of movies where it is productive to go into plot analysis. Let's just say that we have to track a group of college guys who have to make a trip cross-country to the university of Texas. Along the way, just about every zany thing that can go wrong does go wrong, and the result is a movie that is way fun.
Nice trip .......2007-01-31
I walked out of "What lies beneath" after 15 minutes, went back into the cinema bought a ticket for "Road Trip" Laughed solidly for the duration and then went back in to the first screen sat down beside my finance and endured the last bit of "What lies beneath". It caused a bit of friction that night but she married me anyway and I've no regrets.
The other reviews that suggest this is cashing in on the success of American Pie are missing the point. There has been a renaissance on the genre of dumb gross-out teen flick. The American Pie franchise has met with greater commercial acclaim and "chicks" are more likely to favor them but Road Trip stands head and shoulders above even the first "American Pie" flick.

Anyone who's watched just about any teenage film knows that the greatest evil in this world isn't chemical warfare, ethnic cleansing, or even the nuclear bomb. The worst crime known to man? Why, virginity, of course. As we've learned from countless films--from <I>Summer of '42</I> to <I>Risky Business</I>--virginity is a criminal burden that one must shed oneself of as quickly as possible. And while many of these films have given the topic a bad name, <I>American Pie</I> quietly sweeps in and gives sex some of its dignity back. Dignity, you may say? How can a film that highlights intercourse with fruit pies, premature ejaculation broadcasted across the Internet, and the gratuitous "gross-out" shots restore the dignity of a genre that's been encumbered with such heavyweights as <I>Porky's</I> and <I>Losin' It</I>? The plot may be typical, with four high school friends swearing to "score" by prom, yet the film rises above the muck with its superior cast, successful and sweet humor, and some actually rather retro values about the meaning and importance of sex. Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, and Eddie Kaye Thomas make up the odd quartet of pals determined to woo, lie, and beg their way to manhood. The young women they pursue are wary girlfriend Vicky (Tara Reid), choir girl Heather (Mena Suvari), band geek Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), and just about any other female who is willing and able. Natasha Lyonne as Jessica, playing a similar role as in <I>Slums of Beverly Hills</I>, is the general adviser to the crowd (when Vicky tells her "I want it to be the right time, the right place," Jessica responds, "It's not a space shuttle launch, it's <I>sex</I>"). The comedic timing hits the mark--especially in the deliberately awkward scenes between Jim (Biggs) and his father (Eugene Levy). And, of course, lessons are learned in this genuinely funny film, which will probably please the adult crowd even more than it will the teenage one. <I>--Jenny Brown</I>

American Pie.......2007-03-17
Well I had all the other movies, but this makes my collection complete. This is the kind of movie you can watch over and over again and it never gets boring.
Just so over-rated.......2007-02-23
This may be one of the most over-rated movies of the last 20 years. It is typical mindless skirt chasing by high school boys. How many times will this premise be used before people stop watching it?? Please god stop.
Thank you
so stupid it is funny.......2006-10-17
There are good movies and then there are movies like these that are just worth the price for the laugh factor. Yeah it does have a plot a pretty stupid one, but it is so funny. The second one is really funny too. are you trying not to watch things with sex in them or not your kids well do not watch this. this is full of sex references and inuendo. It is really funny and worth the laugh if you are like me and just are not offended.
A pleasant teenage romp!.......2006-08-08
American Pie is a favorite for those of you who like hillarious teenage movies.Jason Biggs plays Jim,an average American teen opening new worlds in his sex life. From encounters with pies to embarrasing moments with other teenage girls,American Pie is a definite favorite.Sean William Scott is wonderfull as Scott Stifler. You'll love it!
Surprisingly touching for its genre.......2006-07-22
For a teen comedy flick with potty humour and "showcase" nudity, American Pie does really well with some coming of age themes. Four boys are on a quest to lose their virginity by prom night, and go to various lengths to impress the girls they meet. Life lessons are learned and the boys grow up in ways other than sexually. The four boys led by Jason Biggs are all likeable, and Seann William Scott had a breakout role as the party-loving fifth wheel to the group. Eugene Levy, one of great comedic alumnis from the 80s, has hilarious moments as Jim's dad. And for who can forget the Shannon Elizabeth scene and the bit with the movie's namesake?
Not a lot on the dvd, but there's a fun commentary with the staff and actors, though it's a bit crowded at times. American Pie's not a groundbreaking film, but it's a solid one for its genre, and may be one of the few really worth owning.

Based on the evidence in <I>Evolution</I>, one thing is perfectly clear: special effects have evolved, but director Ivan Reitman has reverted to primitive pandering. Equally obvious is the fact that <I>Evolution</I> is a de facto rip-off of Reitman's 1984 classic <I>Ghostbusters</I>, but this time there's no Bill Murray to deliver the best punch lines (we have to settle for fellow ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd in a broad supporting role), and the comedy has devolved into a grossfest including deep-rectal extraction of alien insects, fire-hose enemas into a giant alien sphincter, and a full-moon display of David Duchovny's naked posterior. Whereas <I>Ghostbusters</I> was a shrewd, irreverent mainstream comedy that combined gooey spectral ectoplasm with something resembling genuine wit, <I>Evolution</I> is a crude, juvenile romp in which all things slimy are elevated to comedic supremacy.
Granted, that's not always a bad thing. As latter-day ghostbuster equivalents, Duchovny, Orlando Jones, and Seann William Scott make a fine comedic trio, and Julianne Moore is equally amusing as a clumsy scientist and Duchovny's obligatory love interest. Despite the meddling of clueless military buffoons, they join forces to eradicate a wild variety of rapidly evolving alien creatures that arrived on Earth via meteor impact, and the extraterrestrial beasties (courtesy of effects wizard Phil Tippet and crew) are outrageously designed and marvelously convincing. For anyone who prefers lowbrow humor, <I>Evolution</I> will prove as entertaining as <I>Ghostbusters</I> (or at least <I>Galaxy Quest</I>), while others may lament Reitman's shameless embrace of crudeness. One thing's for certain: after seeing this movie, you'll gain a whole new appreciation for Head & Shoulders shampoo. <I>--Jeff Shannon</I>
Customer Reviews:
Much more fun than its reputation suggests.......2007-05-20
Evolution is a lot more fun that its busted summer would-be blockbuster status implies, although like most Ivan Reitman comedies the concept is funnier than the script. For the first half David Duchovny and Orlando Jones have more exposition than jokes to deal with and Julianne Moore is game but is no natural comedienne, especially when it comes to pratfalls, while Ted Levine's clichéd general is a villain too far. But once it hits its stride and the constantly evolving critters that are the real stars of the show start multiplying and threatening mankind with extinction, it's an enjoyable monster mash that even manages to make a joke of its product placement for Head and Shoulders. Like the aliens it's no world-beater, but it's a brisk and enjoyable romp. Nice score from John Powell too.
DreamWorks DVD has a good selection of extras, including audio commentary, deleted scenes and alternate ending.
hilariously funny.......2007-04-01
This movie was a blast thanks to the director and the cast. The comedic talents of the cast helped make this movie stand out from the more serious invasion movies that have been done before and since.
Monkey's Uncle Darwin.......2007-03-09
This movie is awesome! It may be no Oscar winner but the characters a lovable, the comedy hilarious and the movie teaches you at the same time. It's one of those movies you have to watch with your friends and family.
Comedy? I don't think so.......2007-01-16
Well I want to say just one thing. This movie was funny and damn good Science Fiction.
It seemed to fail in the box office because they labeled it a comedy. It was that but more than anything else and most importantly it was DAMN GOOD SCIFI!
If you missed this one, go back and make amends to yourself and see it NOT as a comedy but as some darn good SciFi.
pleasent surprise.......2007-01-05
never herd of this movie when it was in the theater (mabe it never was i'm not sure). i know it's Not exactly oscar worthy but it's far from a flop too. it has a very good storyline, excellant originality, great choices for cast members, exceptional imagination (creature animation), blended with decent comedy.
a few scenes were somewhat crude for young kids (but that's why it's pg13). overall i realy liked it

While hardly a spiritual upgrade of the slasher film, this high-concept teen body-count thriller drops hints of <I>The Sixth Sense</I> into the smart-aleck sensibility of <I>Scream</I>. Helmed by <I>X-Files</I> veteran James Wong, who cowrote the screenplay with longtime creative partner Glen Morgan, Final Destination is an often entertaining thriller marked by an unsettling sense of unease and scenes of eerie imagery. It suffers, however, from a schizophrenic tone and a frankly ludicrous premise. A high school Cassandra, Alex Browning (Devon Sawa of <I>Idle Hands</I>), wakes from a preflight nightmare and panics when he's convinced the plane is doomed. His ruckus bumps seven passengers from the Paris-bound plane, which immediately explodes into a fireball on takeoff, but fate hasn't finished with these lucky few and, one by one, death claims them. Wong brings such a funereal tone to these early scenes of survivor's guilt and inevitable doom that the already far-fetched film threatens to veer into unplanned absurdity. Thankfully, the tale loosens up with a playful morgue humor: one of the victims winds up the splattered punch line to a grim joke and elaborate Rube Goldbergesque chains of cause and effect become inspired spectacles of destruction. <I>Final Destination</I> is a pretty silly thriller when it takes itself seriously, and the filmmakers play fast and loose with their own rules of fate, but once they stick their tongues firmly in cheek, the film takes off with a screwy interpretation of the domino effect of doom. <I>--Sean Axmaker</I>

3.5. solid atmosphere but has its issues.......2007-04-15
Like music "scenes"; from hair metal to grunge to nu-metal to garage rock, films as well have their eras. 80's masked killers slashers (Halloween) to the 90's teen slashers (Scream) to the Japanese remakes (The Ring) to the current era which is the uber-gory films (Hostel). Final Destination plays with the teen slasher conventions a little bit (before they fell into the uber-gory camp with the sequels) but ultimately it still fits and despite some problematic script issues, it's still an effective horror film at times.
Alex Browning is a kid in a French class boarding Flight 180 en route to Paris. Just after takeoff, the plane's side rips off and it explodes. Of course it wasn't real as Alex just had a premonition and his erratic behavior and rantings of planes exploding is met with hostility from 5 of his classmates, his teacher and the staff and they're forced off the plane. Imagine everyone's shock when the plane actually indeed explodes in mid-air. But Death is mad as the all-powerful beings grand scheme of when people die was disrupted so he's hunting them one by one.
Main issue with the script is that the premise is intriguing but let's face it: it's still an oddball concept. Why would Death have flaws in its plan, even if we could see the signs? You'd think someone who has such a foresight and knowledge of fate wouldn't have things mess up easily. Alex almost becomes a gifted crime fighter with his know-how on how to beat death but it's a horror movie and it never makes sense. Plus he catches on incredibly quick to the idea that Death is playing hitman now that it seems kinda laughable he figured it out at all.
In a way, Final Destination reminds me of the first 2 Jurassic Parks while its sequels are like the third Jurassic installment: there's a sense of seriousness with this one and the Spielberg films whereas part 2 and 3 basically made it a thrill-ride and the gore almost becomes the reason to see it whereas this film was based on atmosphere and it does have a sense of foreboding. Now the very environment is threatening and anything can bring about someone's doom instead of a dude in a hockey mask.
Is it enjoyable? Sure. It's maybe not a great film through and through but as a horror film, it does its job well.
GENIUS.......2007-03-21
TALK ABT RESPECT FOR A MOVIE. I GIVE THIS FILM TWO AMZING THUMBS UP! NOT ONLY FOR ORIGINALITY BUT FOR THE AMAZING SHOCK FACTOR..I MEAN THE BUS SCENE IS BY FAR ONE THE BEST SCENES IN HORROR FILM HISTORY. AND THERE HAVE BEEN MANY, NOT SO MUCH IN LAST 10 YRS, BUT STILL...YEAH! OH MY GOODNESS, JUST THINKING OF THAT SCENE ALONE BRINGS A TEAR OF PURE JOY TO MY EYE....TALK ABT SHOCK VALUE, UR JUST NOT EXPECTING IT. THERE WAS A WAVE OF SH** AND F**** AT THE MOVIE PREMIER. I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH ABT JUST THAT ONE SCENE...BUT THE WHOLE MOVIE IS WORTH A WATCH...JUST THE FACT THAT BASICALLY UR WHOLE LIFE IS PART OF SOME F***** UP DESIGN, CREATED BY DEATH, LEADING UP TO UR EVENTUAL DEMISE, IS PRETTY MESSED UP. BUT TO ALSO KNOW THAT THERE IS NO ESCAPING IT, THAT EVENTUALLY DEATH WILL CATCH UP WITH YOU, JUST AMAZING...FROM START TO FINISH UR ENGAGED IN THIS WHEN, WHERE, AND HOW ARE THESE KIDS GOING TO DIE..A MUST SEE, OVER AND OVER AGAIN...
Final Destination.......2007-02-07
A thriller that really makes you think about the "design" of things. Best horror I have seen, because it is based on things that could really happen, not about some crazed killer that keeps coming back from the dead.
OK Movie if you like this series.......2007-01-05
My Daughter loves Final Destination and likes having the set.
Final Destination!!!.......2006-12-04
I love all of the Final Destination movies, and own the first two (i'm planning to buy the third one soon). They are just great intresting gory films. There is no visible killer, and the killer doesn't stab you with a knife or decapitate you with an axe. Instead, there are normal accidents that could happen to you any day (most of the time). This is the least gory in the series, but it's still good.
The movie is about a high school senior, Alex (Devon Sawa), who is going on a class trip to Paris. As the plane is about to take off, Alex has a horrifying premonition of the plane exploding. When he wakes up, he throws a fit, and gets himself and six others thrown off the plane. As the seven people watch the plane leave, it explodes, just like in Alex's premonition. The six people that Alex saved were the quite heroine Clear (Ali Larter), the mean jacka$$ Carter (Kerr Smith), the dorky guy Billy (Sean William Scott), Alex's best bud Todd (Chad Donella), Carter's girlfriend Terri (Amanda Detmer), and their teacher Ms. Valerie Lewton (Kristen Cloke). Alex and Clear soon find out, with the help of William Bludworth (Tony Todd), that they cheated death. Soon the seven survivors are killed one by one in the exact order they would of died in the plane crash.
This movie was very creepy. It made me fear doing every day things. The acting is good and their are some good deaths. There's a body count of five. This is defintly not near as gory as parts 2 and 3 though. Infact, I would only classify one death as "gory" and two others as "violent". The first and last deaths aren't violent at all. But it's ok, I liked this movie just as it is. If you like this movie, I highly recomend the two sequels. I love both of them.
Overall, I recomend this to all horror fans. It is one of the few good horror movies made these days.

Professional wrestling star the Rock, who was such a lump of flesh in <I>The Scorpion King</I>, proves surprisingly light on his feet in <I>The Rundown</I>, demonstrating charm and humor as well as the requisite toughness. Beck (the Rock), a repo-man for deadbeats, is sent to South America to find a treasure hunter (Seann William Scott) who's seeking a priceless golden idol--which the local head honcho (Christopher Walken) would like to get his hands on as well. Add in the lovely but dangerous barmaid with a secret (Rosario Dawson), and Beck has some obstacles to overcome. The plot of <I>The Rundown</I> isn't anything special, but the script is enjoyably clever and reasonably coherent; the capable cast keeps things lively; and the movie's relaxed but sinewy pace sets it apart from the frantic floundering of recent action flicks--kudos to director Peter Berg (<I>Very Bad Things</I>). A surprisingly fun flick. <I>--Bret Fetzer</I>
Customer Reviews:
Running down the Rock.......2007-06-12
I found this to be a surprisingly entertaining movie. Filmed in Hawaii (a stand-in locale that doubles for Brazil), the cinematography is terrific. The ROCK plays a sort of bounty-hunter who is out to bring a kid (Seann William Scott - AKA "Stiffler") back to his father. Along the way, they have run ins with the local who runs the town (Christopher Walken).
The ROCK's movies tend to be entertaining, although I can't see him being the next Arnie. The action / adventure / comedy is his most natural genre. He doesn't quite have the charisma of the slow-talking, talk-with-an-accent Arnie. However, The ROCK can still carve out a niche for himself and make many more movies to come.
As always Seann William Scott is hilarious, although some of the comic elements in this film don't really "work." Christopher Walken was a good choice to be the stoic villain who is bent on enslaving a town of natives.
If you enjoy adventure movies, give this one a spin. It's more comical than most adventure movies. And, most importantly, it's a whole lotta fun to watch!
Enjoyable Movie for Action fans who like comedy........2007-05-01
I bought this originally because both my husband and daughter like The Rock. They think he's the 'bomb'. I'm not much into wrestlers gone actor, but I have to say, I liked this movie. It isn't one of my favourites, but it is a good one. The story itself was well written, the action was decent (I'm a fan of Japanese and Chinese action movies myself) and the tongue in cheek humour made it highly enjoyable. I wouldn't say the Rock is eye candy in this one, far from it, but he's proving to be a good actor all in all. The movie appeals to everyone in my family for different reasons. It's just an all around good time.
Great movie, Action, comedy, and Christopher Walken, 90 minutes of fun.......2007-01-15
The rock in what would be his first major release movie, the rundown is a story of Beck (the Rock) who is a "collection agent" for a gambling ring. Beck just wants out of the business after so many years of fighting to open a restaurant. But, his boss wants him to do one last job, retrieve his son Travis (shawn william scott) from Brazil's jungles and bring him back home to pay for some outstanding debts. So off to brazil, to El dorado, a small town controlled by a ruthless miner, played by Christopher Walken. Beck is a man of honor, and he will bring back Travis, but along the way, things get complicated when a priceless artifiact Travis has located comes into play. I could go on, but just get this movie. Its funny, and it got some good action and fight scenes. 90 minutes of fun, check it out.
THIS IS ONLY FOR THE RUNDOWN DVD.......2006-09-08
The extras on this DVD are A++, more than enough. The extras include:
*Deleted Scenes-The Rocks Exclusive footage
*"Rumble in the Jumgle" featurette- choreographed scnes
*"Appetite for Destruction" Featurette- Visual Effects
*"The Amazon" Hawain Style Featurette- The set on Hawaii
*The Rundown Uncensored- Featurette with Camilla the Baboon!
Great for any fan of the Rocks movies.

Former CFL'r Duane Johnson does very well in here, especially the fight scenes..........2006-06-15
XFL fans will like the XFL clips in the
beginning. Does anybody else remember
when Johnson, aka The Rock said at the
beginning of the XFL's second game that
the NFL suits could take their suitcases
and stick them where the sun doesn't shine?
Now that was a classic! Check out Schwar-
enegger's unbilled walkthrough at the begin-
ing where he says, "Have fun", or the dialog
with the employee that let's Rock into the
club, "...Whatever, I'm not into Football,
Beck.." Then he says, "That's the guy your
looking for; Jimmy Knappmiller (a black guy
with a german name?), throws like Brett Favre,
gambles like Pete Rose!" How would he know
about Brett Favre if [He's] "...not into foot-
ball.." ?? Still, if not taken seriously, it's
fun. Way to go you ex-Calgary Stampeder!

Product Description
Meet Jesse (Ashton Kutcher - TV's "That '70s Show") and Chester (Seann William Scott - American Pie, Road Trip), two dimwitted yet lovable party animals who wake up one morning with a burning question: Dude, Where's My Car? Their only clues are a matchbook cover from the Kitty Kat strip club and a year's supply of pudding in the fridge. As they retrace their steps, these dudes are in for the ride of their lives encountering hot alien chicks, dodging killer ostriches, and trying to score "special treats" from their ticked-off twin girlfriends. It's an outrageously sweeeeeet comedy adventure that's "totally entertaining all the way through...totally!" (iFilm)

Sometimes, stupidity is its own reward. <I>Dude, Where's My Car?</I> is one of the most ridiculous movies ever made--so ridiculous, and so thoroughly cheerful about being ridiculous, that it's thoroughly entertaining. Jesse and Chester (Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott) wake up one morning with absolutely no memory of the night before, but they're confident they must have had a good time. An irate phone call from their girlfriends quickly makes it clear that they may have had too much of a good time, and will be branded as sucky boyfriends unless they set things right. The boys set out to get the anniversary gifts they have for the girls in Jesse's car... only Jesse's car seems to be missing. Which of course leads our heroes on a quest, during which they encounter a pot-smoking dog, khaki-wearing cultists, hot chicks from outer space, a cameo by Fabio, and a herd of wild ostriches. <I>Dude, Where's My Car?</I> lacks the depth of character you might find in, say, a <I>Bill & Ted</I> movie, but the dialogue has an amazing spareness to it that gives it a kind of metaphysical splendor--if absurdist playwright Samuel Beckett had written ludicrous babe & stoner movies, he would have written <I>Dude, Where's My Car?</I> Also featuring a cameo by Andy Dick and more babes in bikinis than you can count. <I>--Bret Fetzer</I>

And Then??.......2007-02-04
This is a fun movie! Yes, there are a couple of spots where you might think it is over the top...but it has more than enough funnies to make it a worthwhile purchase. I especially like the drive-through chinese resturant part :) (see my title for this review!)
Dude...wheres my money?.......2007-01-10
Unless your obsessed with Ashton Kutcher then there is no reason to see this movie. Its retarded and has no intresting plot line. There is no substance in this movie. Basically... its sucks.
A Good Movie that brings back Memories.......2006-07-17
Remember those old movies like Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Those were some good movies and this movie sorta brings back those old adventures with a new cast. Although this isn't any in way a sequel to Bill and Ted...obvisouly. Two stoners need to get their car back that contains gifts for their girlfriends embark on a journey to find it by retracing their steps from last night. Only problem is; they are stupid, they were wasted last night, and have constant people nagging their backs. They go through a lot to get their girlfriends back. The girlfriends are mad at them from trashing the place up and are convinced the two stoners don't even remember that today is their anniversery. While searching for their car, They find out that a transexual stripper gave them 200,000 dollars that was stolen for them to hold on to, and she wants it back and they have no clue where it is. They are chased down by super geeks who want to know where a device that controls the fate of the universe is and they once again...have no clue where it is and this time, how to even say it. It's a fun movie and often has you laughing. If you liked any of those Bill and Ted movies or just like stoner movies than this good for you. I'm sure you will like it. I sure did.
See this you must dude.......2006-05-12
This has got to be the funniest movie I've ever seen. Yes, I get all of the jokes in more traditional funny movies like Happy Gilmore and such, but this movie is just too funny. From Jesse punching a speaker box at a restaurant's drive thru, to the alien geeks worshiping Zultan, this movie will keep you laughing. The plot is pretty bad with two stoners named Jesse and Chester waking up unable to recall their wareabouts the night before due to how wasted they got at a party. They soon learn they accepted stolen money from a transexual stripper, bought two suits, cell phones, trashed their girlfriend's a sweet car, got tatoos, got a lifetime supply of pudding, lost their car and didn't deliver 30 pizzas that they were supposed to, and oh yeah, they were in possession of the continum transfunctioner that all of these alien geeks are after. Their girlfriends are also mad at them because they lost their gifts for their 1 year anniversary of going out together. Throughout the day, they uncover clues about what they did the night before while being questioned by several aliens about the continum transfunctioner. Some of the hot aliens offer them pleasure for it. They must find their car and find the continum transfunctioner to please everyone. Once again from the stoners' vocabulary (shibby, dude and sweet), and their friend who reconstructs all of his sentences (see the title) this movie is HILARIOUS!
Very funny.......2006-04-25
I really enjoyed this one. It does get a little bit long and slow, esp at the part when the Sci Fi kids kidnap our heros, and hold them for some kind of ransom. But it holds its own, and has several parts where its just halarious.
I give it four stars. Great extra features. I loved the commentary.
