The Wayans Brothers return with another horror-flick parody, this one taking shots at <I>The Exorcist</I>, <I>Hannibal</I>, and <I>House on Haunted Hill</I>, along with non-horror fare like <I>Charlie's Angels</I>. In addition to gags (and I do mean gag) about innumerable bodily functions, there are slyer jabs at Thomas Jefferson and <I>Raging Bull</I>. As in <I>Scary Movie</I>, the strongest humor comes from making fun of the inane behavior of characters in horror movies. Assisting Shawn and Marlon Wayans are Anna Faris, Kathleen Robertson (in the Carmen Electra role, providing the T&A), and David Cross, as well as Tori Spelling, Chris Elliott, James Woods (as an exorcist with bowel trouble), Andy Richter, and poor Tim Curry, who probably never thought his career would come to this. <I>--Bret Fetzer</I>

Description

All your favorite SCARY MOVIE characters are back in a laugh-packed sequel that scares up even more irreverent fun than the original! Marlon Wayans (SCARY MOVIE, REQUIEM FOR A DREAM), SHAWN WAYANS (SCARY MOVIE, DON'T BE A MENACE...), and Anna Faris (SCARY MOVIE) lead a stellar cast that takes extreme pleasure in skewering Hollywood's most frightening feature films and spoofing popular culture! Also starring Regina Hall (SCARY MOVIE, LOVE AND BASKETBALL), Christopher Kennedy Masterson (TV'S MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE), Tori Speling (TV's BEVERLY HILLS 90210) ... plus Tim Curry (CHARLIE'S ANGELS), Chris Elliott (THE NUTTY PROFESSOR II: THE KLUMPS), and James Woods (ANY GIVEN SUNDAY), nothing's sacred and anything goes in this outlandish must-see comedy hit!

3 out of 5 stars A comedy that pokes fun at scary movies!.......2007-06-18

If you've seen any of the 4 Scary Movies, you know what they're about. They're comedies that poke fun at scary movies. They don't have any real story line. They're just there to make us laugh.

So what's to like about this movie? There are quite a few jokes that had me laughing. Some of the funny parts remind me of my own weird sense of humor and it's good to see a movie that contains not-so-typical/predictable jokes. The best part of the movie is the butler. His hand is deformed but he acts like his deformity is not a problem at all (when he's trying to save someone from falling, he says "take my strong hand!", refering to his bad hand). He exchanges disses with another character who has only one leg. Of course we have Anna Farris' character who gets made fun of by the guys. There are random jokes thrown throughout this movie (some good, some not so good). It's not a laugh out loud kind of movie but some parts will have you chuckling.

What's not to like about this movie? There's a couple of things. First, if you're not a horror movie fan, you may not understand some of the jokes and/or part of the plot. The majority of this movie is based on the movie "The Haunting" although there are some references to "The Exorcist", "What Lies Beneath", and some not-so-scary movies like "Charlie's Angels" and "The Matrix". If you haven't seen any of these movies (or at least know in general what they are about), it's easy to get confused. Also, as I said above, if you're expecting a really good story line, don't even bother. All of the movies in the Scary Movie line are basically just random scenes thrown together to gain some laughs that will come together to create an ending (and not even a good one at that).

My rating: 3.5/5 stars. If you've seen any of the other Scary Movies, you'll know what to expect. If you haven't seen them or you aren't a horror movie fan, you may be disappointed.

3 out of 5 stars Bored.......2006-12-09

The first Scary Movie was funny because it was the first of its kind. This one, however, is exactly what I expected it to be. Yes, there were funny moments, but it was highly predictable and truly boring. If you have seen the first Scary Movie, I would leave it at that. Just as we are typically disappointed by all other sequels, this was a disappointment. With all of the scary movies out that year, I thought surely this movie would be better than the last...it was a comical flop. They could have done better at making this Scary Movie different and separate from the first, it would have been more humorous.

5 out of 5 stars keeps getting funnier!!.......2006-11-27

funny as hell just like the first only better!!! your eyes will water laughing at this movie!

5 out of 5 stars FUNNY!.......2006-08-24

"Scary Movie 2" is great! There are a lot of funny moments in this film that I didn't see when I watched this film the first time. I originally didn't like it, but I tried it again and it was hilarious and a lot better than any other in this series.

This movie in one word is fun. There are a lot of jokes from other famous horror movies in here and they are done well. The movie is silly, but it is not a movie that is supposed to be taken seriously. From the basketball "STOMP" scene where they dance for no reason, to the funny butler played by Chris Elliot, the movie has a lot of randomness that is just funny. Overall this movie is really worth seeing. I think the butler is the funniest things about the movie and how everyone is trying to avoid his deformed hand. Worth seeing, especially if you didn't like it the first time, watching again may make it more enjoyable.

5 out of 5 stars Funniest of them all.......2006-08-17

This sequel will have viewers in sidestitches laughing their heads off! Regina Hall and Anna Faris return to play their hilarious characters and the Wayans brothers bring the laughs two fold. If you are into classic horror movies than this is the best movie! There ia a lot more tongue in cheek moments and crude sometimes political humor. Now a lot of people bag on Tori Spelling but I thought she was hilarious in this movie. Watching classics such as "Exorcist", "The Haunting" and "House on Haunted Hill" being mercilessly spoofed will make this purchase worth it. This may not be as funny to people that enjoy slasher flicks but to those that enjoy classics, then this is the movie to have! However I'd warn against eating or drinking while watching this movie unless the viewer doesn't mind spewing said items out their nose!

5 out of 5 stars Hilarious.......2007-05-12

Somehow a lot of people dont know about this movie, but it is hilarious.

5 out of 5 stars DA Funniest S***!!!!!.......2006-07-01

Man dis has got to be da funniest movie I have seen by da Wayan Bros. It kinda goes a lil to far somtimes but dats da funny part. Da movie is basically about a guy named Ashtre who goes back to da hood to live wit his dad who is only about 1 year or 2 years older and from there da crudeness begins. Da movie is extremely hilarious it mostly makes fun of movies such as "Menace II Society", "South Central" etc. u know gang banger movies. U will have a lot of laughs wen u watch so watch it right away!!!

5 out of 5 stars Lots of Laughs @ Tha Hoods Expense.......2006-02-23

This is a great parody of all the hood movies that came out in the early 90's. "Don't Be a Menace" throws laughs at Hood Flicks such as "Juice", "Menace To Society", & "Boyz In Da Hood". So if u haven't seen those movies, you might not understand a lot of the comedy in this....but if u have seen em, check this out!

5 out of 5 stars MAN I'LL SUCK YA D!CK MAN!.......2006-01-02

The funniest and crudest movie i have ever seen. If you have a sense of humor get this movie. This is by FAR the funniest movie i have ever seen. Its all basically about a man named Ashtre, who goes back to the hood to live with his father (who is younger than him in maturity.)
The movie has so many funny parts mocking the hood. In one party scene is shows three black men with their pants down and their boxers showing (making fun of the way people these days wear their pants so low.)
My favorite part of the movie is when a cracked-up man goes to Marlon Wayans and asks for money. When marlon (Loco) says no, the man replies "Man, ill suck ya dick man. Then you see Loco and the man go behind a truck and loco come out and zipper his pants up.
The movie is hysterical. You would definitely enjoy if you enjoyed movies such as:
-The scary movie series
-Dude, wheres my car?
-white chicks
-half baked
-beavis and butthead do america\

and many more!!

5 out of 5 stars THE FUNNIEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN!.......2005-12-12

I watched this movie with my friend, and the next day my abs hurt from laughing so much. The movie got right to the point, showing the "hood" and the ppl in it.
It follows a man named Tre' and his brother. It shows the most halarious views of living in a ghetto. In one part the man talking to the camera is walked up on and shot. In another part when Tre's brother is filling out a job application, it says fathers name. He just puts down "I dont know".

This is an absolute must watch!

Cunningly fusing father-son sentiment and more blows to the groin per minute than any other movie you'll see this (and possibly any other) year, Little Man aims to win the heart of any man who's ever wished his son was actually a foul-mouthed, jewel-thieving midget. The rubbery face of Marlon Wayans (White Chicks) is digitally transposed onto the body of an actual midget so that Marlon can play Calvin, a bad-tempered thief who's trying to retrieve a humongous diamond from the purse of Vanessa (Kerry Washington, Ray), the buppie wife of Darryl (Shawn Wayans, Scary Movie 2). Darryl doesn't care about his wife's new promotion, he just wants to have a child--and he gets one when Calvin arrives on his doorstep dressed in baby clothes. At which point, the kicks, head-butts, and blunt object trauma to the groin begin. It's beside the point to argue whether or not this is definitively funny; blows to the groin either make you laugh or they don't, and if they do, you know who you are and you should seek this movie out. It will give you all you could possibly ask for, including numerous jokes about bodily functions and breasts. Also featuring John Witherspoon (Friday), Tracy Morgan (Saturday Night Live), Chazz Palminteri (Bullets Over Broadway), and cameos by Molly Shannon (Superstar) and Rob Schneider (Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo). --Bret Fetzer

Hired to steal the fabulous Queen Diamond, pint-sized jewel thief Calvin Sims (Marlon Wayans) and his dimwitted partner Percy (Tracy Morgan) stash the stone in Vanessa Edwards' (Kerry Washington, Ray) handbag when their getaway plans go uproariously awry. Discovering Vanessa's husband, Darryl (Shawn Wayans), who's hopelessly obsessed with becoming a father, Calvin trades in his duds for diapers and poses as an abandoned baby. Suffering through a host of hysterical humiliations and outrageous family outings, Calvin desperately tries to retrieve the gem before his cover is blown, and Darryl and Vanessa really cut him down to size. Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans (White Chicks).

4 out of 5 stars It's supposed to be stupid-funny!.......2007-06-20

This is more in the realm of Dumb and Dumber-type comedy, but I enjoyed it and actually laughed a lot. I caught this on cable and wasn't enthused after seeing White Chicks, but gave it a chance. I immediately saw the parallels to the old cartoon, but I wasn't offended by it. I watched it with my wife and her Stepfather and we were all laughing our heads off. I see that a lot of people are panning it, but I think it has value. I'm glad silly comedy is still being made like this - otherwise we just have romantic comedy - not that there's anything wrong with that! ha ha... I would say it's more of a guy-movie, so word of warning there.

5 out of 5 stars One great move.......2007-05-16

This was a great move and so funny. We loved it so much. We thank you

1 out of 5 stars LITTLE MAN LITTLE LAUGHS WATCH THE BUGS BUNNY CARTOON INSTEAD.......2007-05-14

Considering they stole the idea for the main character from a Bugs Bunny cartoon you would think there would be a laugh or two in it....right? NO! This is one of the worst movies I've seen in long time. There is one scene that is a complete rip off from the classic Bugs Bunny and Baby Face Finster cartoon. Watch the scene when the thug is in the little man's room and he turns the lights off! Avoid this movie!

4 out of 5 stars Funny little man.......2007-02-06

It is perhaps the funniest film I have ever watched since the white chicks. This is the film which you can take, proudly, to your friends or relatives to watch and lough loudly from the first second untill minutes after the end of the film.

I wish I had not watched the film so I could go to the cinema and watch it.

2 out of 5 stars very close to being almost funny.......2007-02-03

Yes there are some laughs.. but the majority are only silly slapstick type jokes that we have come to expect already.. It does not have enough intelligence for sustained laughter but it is too entertaining not to watch.. What makes the movie particularly annoying, however, is the acting..and the lack of clever dialogue.. I guess you should expect that from the trailers and title - god why did i watch this?

In this drama, set in New Orleans just as the civil rights movement was about to send shockwaves through society, Andre Braugher plays a priest from Baltimore who has offended his superiors and is sent southward to teach at a Catholic high school for young African American men. Braugher's character, Father Verrett, is to teach history and stay out of trouble, but before long he's making problems by raising the consciousness of his students. Named as the school's basketball coach, Verrett succeeds in instilling pride in his team, especially when, in a scene fraught with tension, he drives the team bus to a "whites only" diner after a game and insists on being served. As the sports leagues in New Orleans are segregated, Verrett's team will never play the team from the all-white high school that is supposed to be the best in the city. But one of his energized players issues a challenge to the white team, and a real championship game ensues. This all may sound simplistically moralistic, but the film does provide a multilayered look at segregation, and especially at the tensions it created within families when the younger generation sought change. And though the plot's outcome may not be surprising, the film's strongest points are the fine performances, in particular Braugher as the idealistic if abrasive priest. <I>--Robert J. McNamara</I>

Description

A true story of a priest (Andre Braugher) in New Orleans who formed a group of black players and challenged an all-white prep school basketball team in the 1960's. Eventually events like these signaled the pivotal turn in the games' history leading to the integration in today's sport. Directed by Steve James (Hoop Dreams), these basketball players didn't just make shots, they made history.

5 out of 5 stars A small gem.......2007-06-23

Based on a true story, the mixture of morality, sports, and quality acting and directing makes for a winning combination, especially for teenage viewers and the young at heart.

5 out of 5 stars Great Movie.......2006-09-18

I love basketball and history, so when these two elements are mixed together, I'm automatically hooked. This movie tells the story of the 1965 St. Augustine High (black school) Purple Knights and their trials and tribulations to play against the Jesuit High (white school) Eagles for the New Orleans high school basketball championship. Prior to that blacks could not play for the city title. They could only sit home and wonder "what if". The acting by Andre Braugher and his supporting cast was superb, but i wasn't feeling those accents that Travis and Boo had. I've live in New Orleans, and black folks don't talk like that. Other than that, it was a good movie.

5 out of 5 stars Well Done!.......2003-10-26

I can't get enough of watching this movie. It was well-written, well-acted, and even though it was easy to figure out the outcome of the final game, that really isn't the point. The point was that the game happened at all. I am actually in the movie (yes, I am an extra-sitting next to one of the parents during the final game), so I saw it first-hand many, many times in real-life during filming. Yet, I still find myself watching it once again to see the story yet one more time. This should be required viewing for high school kids.

5 out of 5 stars In A Class By Itself.......2000-02-15

TNT has often called itself the best movie studio on telivision. PASSING GLORY would suggest that maybe it is. This is a first rate production. The performances are gripping. The basketball sequences are thrilling. I have rented this movie over and over again. It is truly a classic. This is a small gem that no one should miss.

Roasted by critics but surprisingly tenacious at the box office, <I>White Chicks</I> is the kind of comedy that thrives (well, maybe) on home video. Faint praise indeed, but it allows comedy fans an opportunity to cut the Wayans brothers (costars Marlon and Shawn, and director-cowriter Keenen Ivory) some slack and at least <I>try</I> to answer the obvious question, <I>what were they thinking?</I> For the sake of charity, let's ignore charges of reverse racism that plagued this would-be comedy about a pair of FBI agents (Marlon and Shawn) who go undercover as over-privileged white debutantes to thwart a kidnapping scheme, and let's allow that comedy--not social satire--is the Wayans' top priority. If you can get past the fart jokes, the freakishly unconvincing "white chick" makeup, seemingly endless gags about "white chicks" getting hit on by lusty black guys, and a plot that really doesn't matter at all, you just <I>might</I> find a laugh or two in the Wayans' attempt to understand women through a bit of friendly gender reversal. <I>Tootsie</I> it's not, but at least <I>White Chicks</I> offers more entertainment that Nicky and Paris Hilton, who partially inspired the story. Just ask yourself, which freak show do you prefer? <I>--Jeff Shannon</I>

5 out of 5 stars Very funny movie!!!.......2007-05-29

When I watched this movie I just sat and laughed at the "campyness" of this movie. I thought that this movie was delivered in a very humorous kind of way that everyone can appreciate. I am not a Wayan's fan, but this one I loved. I did watch the special features of this movie and was completely amazed at the makeup artist's abilities to make African American men into valley white girls. I watched the movie and was thinking that they used doubles and then dubbed the voices over the mouths moving. I was completely wrong. They were the actual actors. This movie is a must see to believe. Sit back with some popcorn and be ready to laugh!!

1 out of 5 stars Not funny. Not funny at all........2007-04-17

With White Chicks Keenan Ivory Wayans and the Wayans Clan have shown us they've lost touch with their cinematic roots and become totally disconnected from their viewing audience. Like Robert Townsend before him did with B.A.P.S., Mr.Wayans and his clan have made the film they parodied with relish twenty years ago in Hollywood Shuffle.

Shawn and Marlon Wayans are two bumbling FBI agents who screw up a drug bust. To redeem themselves, they take a case to stop some kidnappers. They go the airport to pick up two snooty rich heiresses and take them to the Hamptons. When a car accident leads to some minor facial injuries on the rich girls they insist on staying in a Manhattan hotel for corrective surgery. The guys go get made up and dress up as..White Chicks. That's what we're told. That's what they want us to believe. But only the Emperor in his new clothes would fall for that make-up. It doesn't even cover the actors in a lot of frames!

As soon as the movie heads into the Hamptons the plot falls apart and the movie enters the MST3K realm of stupidity. The only way anyone could find this "movie" funny is by making their own jokes and crass comments about all the plotholes and story inconsistencies. I'm not even going to finish synopsizing the plot because it makes my head hurt to think about it. I just want to know: How does anyone believe these two guys are women with their broad shoulders and those rubber Michael Jackson masks? How does anyone on a crowded beach not see Shawn Wayans casually walk into a ladies cabana a "White woman" and come out a well-dressed black man? And in the same sequence how does Marlon wear a low-rise bikini and not one of the women notices something isn't right? How does Shawn pass off another guys' house as his own when he doesn't know where anything is? There's suspension of disbelief, but come on, no one can stretch their disbelief that far.

Ugh. The acting here is HORRID. Any actor involved in this dreck should take this movie off their resume and never mention to anyone they participated in it. Ever. Shawn and Marlon aren't funny at all here. The weak gags have no-set up so the comedy duo's timing and execution are way off. Terry Crews hams it up as a basketball star with a fetish for one of the "White Chicks". Not his best work. Brittany Daniel looks better than she acts in this movie. The talented veteran Frankie Faison is the only one who manages to pull a decent performance out of this material. I don't remember most of the cast; the movie was so bad I want it erased from my long-term memory.

This movie isn't the Wayans family in top form. Even with all six Wayans doing screenwriting, the script is a mess not fit for a home video. It's clear the Wayans didn't have any understanding about what they're writing about. Did the family do any research before setting pen to paper? Did they consult any rich women while writing this parody? There are more things to make fun of about rich women than tasteless sex jokes and stereotype Valley girl gags from twenty years ago. The young jet set is different from city to city. What's hot with Paris and Nicole in L.A. is not cool in the Hamptons or Martha's Vineyard.

Watching this movie I wondered what happened to the Wayans family? Twenty years ago they were masters of satire and parody that tapped the Black cultural pulse. Hollywood Shuffle, I'm Gonna Get You Sucka, In Living Color, A Low Down Dirty Shame, the Wayans Brothers, and Waynehead were brilliant pieces of Black satire that showcased the tremendous talent the family had for humor. With this movie and Little Man it seems like they've lost their way.

Here's some advice to the Wayans clan: Pick Up Hollywood Shuffle, I'm Gonna Get You Sucka and A Low Down Dirty Shame. Go get the Old In Living Color tapes. Study these projects and pick apart the jokes. Take a trip back to the comedy clubs in New York. Talk to some people. Reconnect with the roots of your comedy. Take some time to craft a solid script and go back to doing the hilarious satires and parodies that made the family famous. This wacky Looney Tunes style of comedy you've been doing recently just doesn't work.

Pass this waste of celluloid by. Get the Wayans' early films listed above. Or Get Some Like it Hot, or Tootsie. Both those movies are million times funnier than this one.

1 out of 5 stars Maybe I'm just too white and nerdy.......2007-03-09

Aarf! Aarf! This movie is a dog, and it's barking loud. Unfortunately, I wasn't laughing loud.
The Wayans brothers are usually hilarious, I loved Scary Movie and Don't be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood. This one doesn't come close.
I knew going in to this movie I'd have to disregard some believability factors. FBI agents usually aren't poor fumbling idiots. Plus, the Wayans had little resemblance to the real white chicks when they were in disguise. I didn't have a problem with that though, since this is supposed to be a comedy.
But this story seemed like a ripoff of the old Eddie Murphy skit from Saturday Night Live. Some of the other jokes have been so overdone too, like farting scenes or crapping on the toilet scenes.
Since this is the unrated version, I was hoping there might be some nice girl on girl action, a shower scene, a revealing dressing room scene. Nope, none of this. Just the reoccuring threat of manly love from a huge muscle-bound stalker, which I found quite a bit more disturbing than funny.
In all fairness, my buddy laughed his head off during the entire movie. I tried my best to laugh along with him, but couldn't. I guess it's just a matter of preference. I've heard Little Man is even worse than White Chicks, since it won a Razzie award for worst comedy. I think I'll skip that one.

5 out of 5 stars So Funny.......2007-02-18

This movie was so funny I could not stop cracking up, thats how good and funny it is , This movie is worth getting.

5 out of 5 stars hilariour comedy.......2007-01-27

You'll don't wanna miss this film. With funny lines and even funnier scenarios you will be laughing your head off.

The funniest thing is that when the Wayans Brothers are disguised as the "white chicks" they actually look exactly like the girls they are impersonating. Pure Hilarity all the way!

<I>Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in The Hood</I> wants desperately to be an Airplane-like parody of inner-city African American gangsta movies. Instead, it offers us more turkey than we would find at any Thanksgiving spread. Unfunny, stereotypical, stupid, and crass, it was cowritten by Marlon and Shawn Wayans, both of whom should have known better. The two fare better as actors than writers, as they are almost amusing as hardened, dimwitted homeboys. As Ashtray, Shawn returns to his 'hood and hooks up with his best buddy (Marlon) before the two embark on a series of oh-so-wacky adventures. Siblings Keenen Ivory, Kim, and Craig Wayans also make appearances. If you really want a laugh, watch Booty Call. --Rochelle O'Gorman

4 out of 5 stars It made me laugh.......2006-09-05

I don't really understand the negative reviews that i'm seeing of this movie, Don't Be A Menace... is what it is, and that is a parody of all the early 90's hood films (of which I am a big fan of). It's like the people knocking it haven't actually seen the films they're taking the p*ss out of, if you've seen Boyz N The Hood and Menace II Society and you have a sense of humour you'll probably find this funny. Some have criticised the lack of a plot but they are completely missing the point, it's a parody of several films, therefore it cuts from scenes of different films, i mean the plot is always going to be secondary to the jokes. I would say though in order to really enjoy this film you MUST have seen at least Boyz N The Hood & Menace II Society as most of the jokes come from these films.

If you are a fan of the Wayans brothers other films you should know what to expect and enjoy this, Shawn & Marlon are excellent as Ashtray & Loc Dog and I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions. I would go through scenes that I found funny but I don't want to spoil it for anyone whose not watched the film, but I highly recommend it to all fans of the wayans brothers and all those 90's hood movies.

This movie is definately one of the funniest movies ive ever seen. The jokes are lame, yes but that doesnt make the movie stupid. The jokes are so stupid, that it makes the movie hilarious. Like the part when the grandma is smoking weed, that part was funny. This movie isnt necessarily funny, its stupid funny. But its hilarious. Every part, from beggining to end. I recommend this movie to any who loves comedy, and likes these actors. Its definately worth the watch. Its real funny.

5 out of 5 stars Str8 up laughter!.......2005-12-04

The Wayans Brothers * in one phunny movie that I remembered watching when I was at least 5 years old, now I'm 15 and still enjoying it! Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in The Hood imitates and makes fun of Hood movies such as Boys In Tha Hood, Menace II Society, Poetic Justice, Juice & Above The Rim. Don't Be A Menace shows the humors of life in South Central, Watts, Compton & Inglewood, CA. I just enjoy this movie, and I wish there was another Hood Comedys that would be imitating Get Rich Or Die Trying, but the media would h8 that! To bad Marlon & Shawn Wayans thinks that this movie is bigoted & offensive to society, when they're the ones getting played, not payed! There is a lot of 40 Ounce drinkin', Chronic smokin', Gat tattin', Drive By Shootings, Ol' Grandma smokin' on a Fatty? White Geek holding up a 2-1-1 in a Asian Liuor Store? and did I forget the Back yard Parties!? Good Movie, 5/5 stars all the way!

Description

Two FBI agents and partners in this crime-stopping comedy go way undercover by impersonating high-society heiresses in order to keep their jobs.

4 out of 5 stars It's In Living Color reunited and Brittany Daniels feels so good........2007-02-02

This comedy was fair in my opinion. It had an original idea which I enjoyed and contained relatively humorous scenes of physical comedy. The exceptional points which could convince you to buy the movie on Blu-ray are. The picture is 50% better than normal DVDs. The sound is 100% better than normal DVDs. This Blu-ray Disc has a lot of extra features including a striptease excercise class led by, of course, Brittany Daniels. Look for the In Living Color cast members dotted through out the movie also a couple from Friday.

Iréne Jacob (U.S. Marshalls, Othello), Vincent Perez (Cyrano de Bergerac, Queen of the Damned), Jason Isaacs (Black Hawk Down, The Patriot) and Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction) star in this epic tale of a great love story thwarted by fortune and men's will.

Set against a sweeping historical fresque, the epic tale of a great love story thwarted by fortune and men's will. 1758-1761: a turbulent period bridging the collapse of New France and the establishment of the British regime. An "era of passions." This tragic love story of a young peasant girl, Marie-Loup Carignan (Godin-Vigneau), from the lower Saint Laurent River and a dashing adventurer is based on fact. As their passionate destiny advances inexorably, driven by fate, it mirrors another story that's already been written: France's abandonment of Canada.</p>

François Le Gardeur (David La Haye), a daring and adventurous young man, rejects his family who he finds too bourgeois, preferring to roam in the forests and live with the American Indians (know as "the savages" by the settlers). Returning from hunting, he hastens back to Quebec. Too late: his father died three days early, leaving his son an inheritance that will bring him more grief than happiness. Discovers that his father was wheeling and dealing on a massive scale with Intendant Bigot. Their financial scams will eventually contribute to the fall of New France.</p>

The day after his return Le Gardeur meets Marie-Loup and it's love at first sight. Marie-Loup is a determined young woman despite her modest origins, in advance of her era. Her outspoken attitude and free spirit is criticized by Father Blondeau, although his rebukes are tinged with indulgence as the poor man is secretly in love with her. And her friendship with "the savages" is frowned upon by the local people - she's rumored to have "witch's powers" because she uses the shaman's remedies for healing the sick.</p>
