Description

Dracula has never been so funny and dashing - to say nothing of being an awesome disco dancer - as in this "delightful movie with a bang-up cast" (The New York Times) led by the epitome of suave, George Hamilton, and featuring first-rate performances from Susan Saint James, Richard Benjamin, Dick Shawn, Arte Johnson, Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford! Evicted from Transylvania, Dracula (Hamilton) goes to New York to make Cindy (Saint James), a model with an old soul, his eternal bride. To his delight, she quickly falls for his necking style. But when her would-be boyfriend (Benjamin), a descendant of the vampire-killing Van Helsings, meets his romantic rival, he's determined to put a stake in the count's plans!

2 out of 5 stars Ruined movie on re-release.......2007-06-11

This used to be my favorite Vampire spoof movie and just one of my favorite movies. However the new release without the famous disco scene danced to "I Love The Night Life" ruins the whole movie. In the original they danced to the music and it set a fast, exciting pace for the romance. The new unknown song has no zip,no excitement, does not sound or feel like an 80's disco tune, and I remember what it was like to dance to those in the discos, and worst of all the dance scene dancing does not match its beat!! Why did they not pop for the rights to the song?? Sorry to George Hamilton who really shines in it, for his sake I gave it 2 stars. I gave this to my trash can so no one else would get stuck with it and I will stick to my old VHS copy of this movie.

5 out of 5 stars LOVE AT FIRST BITE.......2007-05-09

I LOVE THIS MOVIE EACH AND EVERY TIME I WATCH IT I ALWAYS GET A GOOD LAUGH OUT OF IT.

1 out of 5 stars Night Life song Replaced.......2007-02-10

The most memorable part of this film was the dance scene to "Night Life" which would repeat through the movie. This version credits the song, but it was replaced with some lame disco music. I am writing MGM to complain and demand a refund. Even the trailer has the right music playing all through it.

Demand the original!

1 out of 5 stars Missing Nite Life Sucks.......2007-01-16

I wish I had read further in the reviews, if I had known that the song 'I Love The Nite Life' had been replaced I would never have bought the film. It is very limp without this...shame, shame, shame! This should be mentioned so that folks can make a more informed decision, instead of wasting money.

Long before Bill Cosby started wearing his friendly sweaters, urban middle-class African Americans burst onto television in the form of Louise (better known as "Weezy") and George Jefferson, portrayed by Isabel Sanford and Sherman Hemsley. Spun off from All in the Family, The Jeffersons ran from 1975 to 1985, and it's easy to see what made the show so popular--Sanford and Hemsley were a knockout comic duo, surrounded by a skilled supporting cast that included the interracial couple Helen and Tom Willis (Roxie Roker and Franklin Cover), British expatriate Harry Bentley (Paul Benedict), as well as George's cantankerous mother Olivia (Zara Cully) and their snappy, cynical maid Florence (Marla Gibbs).

Set in a high-rise apartment building in the heart of New York City, the show spun around George, a classic character portrait of vanity, arrogance, and petty prejudice. Balanced by the more level-headed but just as strong-willed Weezy, George's self-serving abrasiveness struck comic gold, particularly in the second season, when the show's style had been set but was still fresh. Episodes tackled subjects trivial (George and Tom wear the same tacky dinner jacket to a party) and trenchant (a country club invites George to join, but only so that a newspaper reporter will think the club is open to minorities). The black and white mix of the cast allowed for a sharply satirical take on race relations, which managed to have a genuine sense of hope while never glossing over the complexity of racial tension--and was consistently funny. In fact, it's striking how well the show's humor holds up; The Jeffersons turned a series of half-hour farces into a sly examination of marriage, race, class, and the battle of the sexes; it's sad that so few contemporary sitcoms have this kind of intelligence, courage, and sheer talent. --Bret Fetzer

1 out of 5 stars The Cosby show was better............2007-06-24

I know that the actors got along on set and this was not a foul mouth show at all, but I never really liked it. There is no sign that George Jefferson changed at all during the show's whole run, where as Archie Bunker did from All in the Family to Archie Bunker's Place.

5 out of 5 stars Take me back!.......2007-06-14

I forgot how fun it was to watch The Jeffersons. I plan to get the second season.

5 out of 5 stars Great Classic Show!.......2007-04-20

The first season of the Jeffersons starts out great! I can see why this show lasted for 11 years on television. Excellent Series by Norman Lear and a great spin-off too! The Jeffersons are a classic by themselves and I enjoy each character espically Louise, George, and Florence. I am glad that to on it on DVD.

5 out of 5 stars I love the Jefferson's.......2007-04-09

The Jefferson's First Season is great and Funny but you really have to watched the All in the family because is the spend off of it

Screwed was another nail in the coffin of former Saturday Night Live wisecracker Norm MacDonald, following his dismal previous film, Dirty Work. However, while Screwed isn't particularly funny (the jokes about dentures, dog poop, and dead bodies are pretty much as old as the hills), the plot exerts a perverse interest; for most of the movie, it's genuinely unpredictable. MacDonald plays Willard, the butler-chauffer, all-purpose flunky of Mrs. Crock, the wealthy, penny-pinching owner of a pastry company. Fed up with her abuse, Willard and his friend Rusty (David Chappelle from Blue Streak and 200 Cigarettes) connive to kidnap her dog Muffin. But Muffin escapes and returns home; the ransom note is assumed to be for Willard himself. Rusty and Willard run with the idea, sending in a videotape of himself being held prisoner. When a detective starts getting a little too close, they panic and decide to fake Willard's death... Okay, none of it makes much sense, but in a world of ridiculously formulaic movies that slavishly follow every screenwriting cliché, Screwed seems like a brief oasis of narrative invention. Of course, it still isn't funny. And by the end, it's lost whatever spark of imagination that got it started. Too bad. It's written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, the screenwriters responsible for Problem Child, but also for Ed Wood and The People vs. Larry Flynt--they should stick to biographies. --Bret Fetzer

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Slight edge over Dirty Work.......2007-04-06

Hilarious movie for anyone who loves Chappelle and McDonald. The old lady makes the movie though, perfect casting ther.e ;) ENJOY!

4 out of 5 stars One of those films that's so stupid it's actually pretty funny!.......2007-03-12

Anyone who's ever worked for a tyrant should be able to appreciate this film. Norm McDonald plays a much abused 2nd generation servant for Ms. Crock, a mean old pie baroness. Dave Chapelle plays his equally dimwitted friend. Together these two bufoons concoct the idea to kidnap Ms. Crock's beloved dog. The plan goes awry and people think that her servant, Norm McDonald has been kidnapped. Chapelle and McDonald have to adapt to their scheme to convince Ms. Crock, who really couldn't care less, to pay the same ransom for a human. Things continue to go wrong and it's one hilarious blunder after another.

This is basically a very fun movie and I would recommend it for young children if not for some of the sexual references. I also think some female senior citizens might take umbrage at the copious use of derogatory appellatives such as: hag, prune, crone, etc.

4 out of 5 stars dumb humor.......2007-01-25

but wirth the $4.00 I paid for it. I collect movies from 90's SNL stars so this was a must have for me

2 out of 5 stars Not What I Expected..........2007-01-12

With the line up of funny guys in this movie I expected to be laughing all the way through. Well, it didn't turn out to be as funny as I thought. I think I laughed ONE time, when Danny Devito's character noticed all the wanted signs with his face on them....that was it as far as laugh out loud funny in my opinion. Norm McDonald is not at his comedic best in this movie. Rent it don't buy it is my best advice!

3 out of 5 stars Some funny moments, but disappointing.......2006-02-05

Norm MacDonald plays Willard Fillmore, the lifelong manservant of Virginia Crock. Miss Crock owns a baking company, is extremely rich, and mistreats Willard in almost every way possible. Willard is willing to put up with it until he finds out Miss Crock is planning on firing him, and he decides to get together with his buddy, Rusty P. Hayes, played by Dave Chappelle, and kidnap her dog, Muffin. Well, the kidnapping goes awry and Willard ends up "kidnapping himself." From that point, in their quest to get the 5 million dollar ransom, Willard and Rusty meet up with Grover Cleaver, a worker a the local morgue, played by Danny DeVito in a disgusting role.

Screwed has quite a few extremely funny moments. Namely the fake kidnapping videotape that Willard and Rusty make at the local store. I think that Norm MacDonald is one of, if not THE, worst actors I have ever seen. That is why I love his movies. Dirty Work is one of my all-time favorites. Unfortunately, Screwed does not meet Dirty Work in the humor category. That is probably because the film is more dependent on the whole kidnapping story, whereas Dirty Work was pretty much just a vehicle for Norm to run with his role however he wanted to. I would recommend this movie for Norm fans, and also fans of Dave Chappelle. His role is limited, but he is still hilarious when on screen.

5 out of 5 stars Finally, my prayers have been answered!.......2007-05-31

OH MY GOD!!!!! I have been searching for this movie for at least 5 years! Turns out I was spelling Cucamonga wrong. I haven't seen this movie for at least a decade and it was one of my absolute favorites growing up. I highly recommend it to everyone who's a fan of the cheesy 80's!

5 out of 5 stars Best Film from Childhood!!!!.......2007-03-09

I remember when I first watched this movie when it came out, I was only around 11 years old and I absolutely loved it. I taped it and watched it a lot. When I saw that it was released on DVD I was excited because I had not seen it in a long time. I highly recommend this movie because I still found that it was highly entertaining. I think a big part of its entertainment value for me rests on that it brought me back to my childhood. I think that children will love this movie as I did. This movie is the reason I decided to go to camp when I was younger. I recommend this movie to everyone but especially kids around 10-13 years old I think that they would really enjoy it.

5 out of 5 stars 90's Flick.......2006-08-17

I watched this movie when I was growing up and it is a great early 90's movie - the clothes, the "cool" words and hair styles! Its a great "back in the day" movie. I recommend it to anyone who remembers "Urkel" or "DJ" from Full House or even "Winnie Cooper" from The Wonder Years!

Definitely 5 stars!

3 out of 5 stars Made for TV now on DVD.......2006-02-01

I had remembered seeing this movie on tv as a kid. This moive is filled with former abc sitcom stars. Jennifer Aniston before friends was just as atractive then as she is now if not more.

5 out of 5 stars My favourite Movie Ever!!!!!.......2005-07-01

This was my favourite movie when I was growing up - watched it 1000 times. I live in New Zealand and the DVD still plays in our machines (I was told it wouldn't). BUY IT - YOU WILL LOVE IT!

5 out of 5 stars fun for the whole family.......2007-03-18

I use to have this movie on vhs and I recently purchased a copy on dvd. I totally forgotten how great and fun this movie is. I use to watch Casper cartoons and just loved this little character. The movie is just as wonderful as the cartoons. You will love the special effects and you will fall in love with Casper. The dvd special features includes a Casper cartoon. If you have children {or even if you don't} order this one and sit back and have some laughs.

5 out of 5 stars Better Then The Theatrical Movie!.......2005-12-21

First off I want to say that before I watched the sequel Casper's Spirited Beginning I watched the original theatrical movie that starred Christina Ricchi and I thought it was boring but I liked this much better then the theatrical movie and didn't find it boring at all and I don't care that it's a made for television movie! This movie is funny and I like it!

4 out of 5 stars I Liked It More Than I Liked The Bill Pullman, Christina Ricci movie!.......2005-10-17

I watched the original theatrical movie that starred Christina Ricci and Bill Pullman, I watched it on a video tape and while that was a good movie I also liked this prequel movie which I first saw on TV. I actually like this more than the Christina Ricci movie, It is a cute movie and stars two of my favorite actors Steve Guttenburg, and Lori Loughlin and I really didn't find this movie to be disappointing at all. It is totally cute and charming!

1 out of 5 stars A bad prequal.......2003-07-20

The first Casper was a fun movie which I liked alot. After its success someone had the idea lets make a cheesy prequal with inferior effects that doesn't tie in with the first movie at all. In the first movie it says that ghosts scar because of emotion trama in this ghost scar because they are taken to some school to learn how to. Not a good vision of the afterlife is it. It also like I said before has terrible effects. They should have made a sequal with orginal cast and original effects quality. But this is awful.

1 out of 5 stars A Stupid Begining.......2002-01-15

To start out with, this is another one of those typical, cheap, grownups-are-stupid; kids-are-smart movies. This is nothing like the first movie. If this is how it all began then it does not tie in with the feature film Casper the Friendly Ghost.

How can a ten-year-old boy, who is in the 4th grade, be smarter than his 40-year-old-dad, who is a successful architect? What happened to Casper's father, who lived in a completely other part of the country, and the big scary mansion? It doesn't make any sense. This is a disgrace to the friendly phantom.

The acting in this movie is at an all time low. They got low paid actors for a low paid movie. All of the horrible acting, sets, story, and CG make this movie the definition of a terrible movie. Should you watch this junk you will discover the dreadfulness of this piece of trash.

Alice returns from Wonderland only to discover she's on the wrong side of her living room mirror at the beginning of the second half of Irwin Allen's 1985 production, with teleplay by Paul Zindel and songs by Steve Allen (the three-hour film was broken into two parts for video, the first title being Alice in Wonderland). Before you can say "curiouser and curiouser" the jabberwocky is after her. It chases Alice back to a strange land where life appears to be one giant game of chess with pieces portrayed by the likes of Carol Channing and Harvey Korman. The 7-year-old longs to be home, but that doesn't stop her from enjoying some song and dance with Tweedledum and Tweedledee (Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme), watching a bout between the lion (Ernest Borgnine) and the unicorn (Beau Bridges), or being rescued by the White Knight (Lloyd Bridges). Despite the oddly low-tech visual effects from Star Wars's John Dykstra--the jabberwocky is so clearly a guy in a dragon suit--this thrillingly kitschy movie ably entertains. Where else will you see Merv Griffin as a train conductor, Sally Struthers and Donna Mills catfighting with Vegas-worthy flower headdresses, and Jonathan Winters as a crabby Humpty Dumpty before the fall? Adults who fondly remember the '70s and '80s and children 4 and older should enjoy this version of the fabled tale. --Kimberly Heinrichs

I had seen this movie as a kid and always wanted to get my own copy.
Very happy with product and highly recommend to others who remember it from their childhood days

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful Trip Down Memory Lane.......2007-05-30

I was pleasantly surprised at the up-dated quality of the video itself. Sure enough, it actually DOES have both the first and second movies on the one disk. It operated wonderfully, even in my cheap dvd player, and I was able to use the closed captions from my tv so I didn't miss one crazy name or word! The whole experience was exactly what I had pictured for strolling back to my childhood.

5 out of 5 stars the best classic ever!.......2007-05-28

watching this movie made me feel like i was 10 yrs old again - which is when i originally seen it on tv. now, both my kids (12 yr old girl & 5 yr old boy) LOVE watching this movie over & over again. It's just the best!!! my daughter says its like the wizard of oz, but better...

5 out of 5 stars excellent quality.......2007-03-22

the case is a good plastic case, not a cheapie paper one, the movie quality itself is great as well. I used to watch this version all the time when I was a kid, and I wanted to get it for my own children, since it is no longer shown on tv.

The king of 1970s disaster movies, producer Irwin Allen, brought together novelist Paul Zindel, songwriter Steve Allen, and a host of celebrities for a pair of 1985 TV movies paying homage to Lewis Carroll's Alice. In this first installment, the 7-year-old girl dreams of being grown up enough to join the adults for tea, only to shrink to miniature size, climb through a hole beneath the door, and follow a twitchy Red Buttons in big white rabbit ears. Whether arguing with the Mad Hatter (Anthony Newley), or trying to keep her head in the company of the Queen of Hearts (Jayne Meadows), Alice is constantly running into a host of '70s and '80s personalities like Telly Savalas, Ringo Starr, Scott Baio, and Shelley Winters. If this roster isn't enough to make a poor girl trippy, she also meets up with Sammy Davis Jr. as the caterpillar, and the pair perform an entertaining hip-hop-esque tap number to "Father William." An enjoyably campy version of Alice's wondrous journey, it features detailed sets, marvelously tacky costumes, and mildly clever musical numbers. This 90-minute TV movie's pleasant goofiness will amuse children 4 and older as well as nostalgically minded adults. The TV movie has been broken into two parts on video with Alice Through the Looking Glass picking up where this one leaves off. --Kimberly Heinrichs

5 out of 5 stars Alice's Adventures in Wonderland........2007-01-11

This book is the Norton Critical Edition (Second Edition) of _Alice in Wonderland_ by Lewis Carroll, edited by Donald J. Gray, with the picture of the "Jabberwock" on the front. The Norton Critical Edition contains the following parts: a brief preface, the text of _Alice's Adventures in Wonderland_, the text of _Through the Looking-Glass_, the excised "The Wasp in a Wig", the poem "The Hunting of the Snark: An Agony, in Eight Fits", background material from Carroll's early life, the Alice books, and later life (including letters of his), and several interesting essays in criticism. The Alice stories are some of the greatest classics of children's literature, but their bizarre nature and intriguing mathematical, philosophical, and theological speculations make them interesting for adults and thinkers as well. Many have tried to psycho-analyze the stories (using absurd antiquated Freudian methods), but I agree with G. K. Chesterton that to do such is to destroy the stories. These stories exist in the fine tradition of the Victorian fairy tale (which emphasizes what has been called the "Victorian cult of the child"), and despite modern difficulties, they remain an important contribution to children's literature. Among other things it has been suggested that the stories include elements that resemble drug use and that Carroll was a precursor to Einstein in his understanding of the relativity of size and shape, but despite these understandings the stories remain unique for their captivating power and intriguing as stories themselves. Lewis Carroll was the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832-1898) who was perhaps best known in his time as a logician and tutor in logic and mathematics. Dodgson did quite well in mathematics as a youth (as he did in nearly all his subjects, but particularly in mathematics) and continued his studies at Oxford. Originally Dodgson had promised to become an Anglican clergyman upon completion of his studies, but he never fully completed his ordination. Instead he served as a lecturer in mathematics and logic, writing several interesting books in logic for popular audiences at the time (though he could not have foreseen more recent developments in logic, such as the work of Russell and Whitehead in the _Principia Mathematica_). Dodgson also served as a tutor to children (and he developed a particular fondness for children, particularly young girls, that many would come to criticize later). As a tutor Dodgson met the girl Alice Liddell, who served as the inspiration for the Alice stories. It is rumored that Dodgson may have fallen in love with her, which led to some difficulty. Dodgson's philosophical, religious, and social views were notoriously conservative and conventional, though it seems that he incorporated many unconventional ideas into his stories. In his old age, Dodgson remained a bachelor, though he increasingly involved himself in amateur photography (some of which proved particularly risqué and has led to subsequent rumors about Dodgson). Today, what Dodgson remains most famous for are his stories for children. Within his stories interesting mathematical, philosophical, and theological issues are raised; among them, the issue of the meaning of words and language (Dodgson's writings and poems have been called "nonsense" and he frequently makes use of "nonsense words" of his own invention) calling to mind the later philosophy of Wittgenstein, various theological issues, the philosophical issue of the dream-like nature of reality, the issue of birth, adolescence, sexual development, and life and death, the issue of Darwinian evolutionism, and various mathematical and logical issues, as well as interesting puzzles. The essays included with this volume bring up some of these issues and provide interesting points about the stories.

The works of Lewis Carroll included in this volume are as follows:

_Alice's Adventures in Wonderland_ (1897 edition) - a rewrite of the original _Alice's Adventures Under Ground_ and beautifully illustrated. This is the story of Alice (based on Dodgson's student Alice Liddell) as she encounters a talking White Rabbit, travels down a rabbit-hole, and there encounters many bizarre happenings and various talking creatures. The story has an eerie drug-induced feel to it (which causes one to question the very basis of reality) and many have speculated that this story may include instances of drug use. In particular, while in "Wonderland", Alice eats various foods and drinks various potions which cause her to grow taller or shorter. In "Wonderland", Alice encounters the rabbit, a talking mouse (who she reminds of her cat Dinah and provokes him thus), various birds and animals (in which they have a "caucus race", perhaps calling to mind the "Caucasian race" and various racialist theories of the time which Dodgson disapproved of), a lizard named Bill, and a puppy. After this, however, Alice encounters a caterpillar sitting on a mushroom. The caterpillar is smoking from a "hookah" (perhaps a reference to drug paraphernalia) and invites Alice to take a bite from the mushroom. Upon taking the bite from the mushroom, Alice undergoes radical changes in height. Some have regarded these alterations to be reminiscent of the hallucinations that occur upon ingestion of certain mushrooms, such as the Amanita muscaria. Alice also encounters the Duchess and her baby (a pig), the Cheshire cat (who fades away leaving only his grin), the Madhatter (mad no doubt from mercury poisoning), the March Hare, and the Dormouse having tea, and then she encounters the Queen of Hearts playing croquet as well as the "mock turtle". Finally, a trial occurs in which the Knave of Hearts is accused of stealing the tarts from the Queen of Hearts. At this trial, Alice must testify and present her evidence. At the end, Alice awakes from her dream after realizing that the Queen and the King are nothing but a pack of cards.

_Through the Looking-Glass_ (1897 edition) - This story begins with Alice reflecting on her cats and a game of chess. Indeed, the entire story involves a set-up on the chess board in which Alice herself is to eventually become queen. Alice enters a mysterious world ("Wonderland" again no doubt) through the looking-glass and there encounters various creatures. This is of course the story where the infamous nonsense poem "Jabberwocky" appears. Alice encounters various talking flowers, various insects, two brothers Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Humpty Dumpty (an egg), and the lion and the unicorn. Alice also encounters the red and white queens and eventually is to become queen herself. During the course of the story the secret meaning of certain words in "Jabberwocky" are revealed to Alice. At the end, Alice is at a feast when she suddenly shakes the red queen who becomes a kitten. Alice awakes to conclude that it was "all a dream", though the issue of reality is raised again.

"The Wasp in a Wig" is a short scene left out of the original _Through the Looking-Glass_.

Also included is the poem, "The Hunting of the Snark" (1876), which is a nonsense poem about a group of men on a ship who are hunting a "snark".

This Norton Critical Edition is an excellent edition of Lewis Carroll's children stories and poems. Carroll's stories are to live on due to their uniqueness and their bizarre nature. But, as pointed out they also raise several interesting philosophical questions and thus are interesting for adults as well as children. They are also greatly enjoyable and certainly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Alice .......2006-10-18

One of the classic Disney movies I remembered was the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Reading this novel gave me the same feelings I had in my childhood years watching the movie. I could be wrong but it seems to me that everything in the book was exactly like the movie. Alice was reading her sister's book and fell asleep under a tree. Then she woke up, saw a rabbit in clothes with a clock talking. She then followed the rabbit into this hole. After that she was in a never ending tunnel, which lead her to a strange world. Alice encounters many obstacles in the story and showed how she dealt with them.
I thought the book was just like the movie. I guess was I was reading the novel made me have a better understanding. I was mainly looking for any symbolism of some sort, but failed to do so. I was also shocked at what the things characters were doing in the book and made it into a Disney movie. For example the Caterpillar smoking a hookah. I didn't know what hookah was until last year. I was really confused in some parts of the novel. This book I thought was great for someone that hasn't even heard of Alice in Wonderland. It is a very thin book but it was like reading a children's book. I thought the novel would have a different story than the movie. From a scale of 1 - 10 I would give it a 7. Just because it was interesting and reminded me of the past.

4 out of 5 stars Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.......2006-10-17

In the book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll a young girl with the name of Alice travels to a distant land that seems altogether and quite possibly unreal to her. The book starts off with Alice in the park with her sister. She has nothing to do as her sister is reading so when Alice sees a talking white rabbit scampering by, she doesn't hesitate to follow it. Following the rabbit leads her to a world she could have never dreamed of. This book can take you to magical places you would have never dreamed of. Through the use of Carroll's thorough descriptions and dramatic elements this book is sure to take you on one wild ride. I thought that the book was very well written and very interesting. I could really imagine what the characters look like and feel how Alice would have felt. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a good adventure and lots of twists along the way. This book is for children and adults alike. As long as you have an imagination and a great sense of adventure you are sure to love this great tale of a girl and how she found herself in an imaginary world.

5 out of 5 stars My Childhood Favorite!.......2006-05-06

When I was eight years old, this version of Alice in Wonderland was aired on T.V. I thought I had watched the best movie ever at that time, and still, to this day, I have more fond memories of watching that movie than any other time in my life! The songs were beautiful! I can still sing the song Alice sang to the deer - "Why do people act as if they're crazy? Why to they behave the way they do? I have to say, this is one my favorite songs of all time!
If you get a chance to purchase and watch this movie, you will witness the beautiful music!

5 out of 5 stars My obsession .......2005-10-05

I was just 2 years old when this movie came out, but my grandfather taped it for me on Beta.. When I was about 3 I started watching the Beta tape.. Let's just say I drove my family CRAZY with this movie! I watched it in its entirety EVERY day.. I memorized every single line. I definitely recommend this movie to everyone!! I now have it on VHS, but am praying one day it will go to DVD because when I have kids some day I would like them to be able to enjoy this movie. It's a fun family movie. It has an all-star cast and is very enjoyable!! I definitely think you all should watch it!

Simply put, the best eighties movie you will ever see. The funniest jokes, the best script, and one of the finest casts I've had the pleasure of ever viewing. Pure poetry. I loved it. If I was stranded on a desert island, and could only have three movies, this would be one of them. And two copies, for when my original copy wore out from over-watching. My laughter would keep me sane on that island.

Still trying to establish himself as a comedy actor, Hulk Hogan proves he's a one-joke pony in this limp comedy about spoiled rich kids. He takes a job working for computer genius Austin Pendleton, whose kids have practical-joked themselves out of every nanny their dad has hired. The Hulkster comes in for the same treatment: electric shocks that stand his sparse blond hair on end, bowling balls to the noggin--in other words, the full Home Alone treatment. But when dad's villainous nemesis (David Johansen) tries to kidnap the kids, it's Hulk to the rescue, and then it's the kids' turn to rescue him, using their naughtiness to good advantage. --Marshall Fine

5 out of 5 stars A blockbuster hit.......2007-05-10

This movie is such a masterpiece. My favorite part is after the credits when Hulk Hogan is playing guitar wearing an American flag cape, but everything before that point is almost as good. Every time Hulk Hogan punches someone (about every five minutes) there's a whistle sound effect. Outstanding! This movie shows that Hulk Hogan has a sensitive side to him while still being able beat evil doers/zombies/Sinbad into submission. I used to watch this every day and get really angry because it was so good.

But you have the get the DVD of this movie! The theatrical version is awesome enough by itself, but the DVD has some great easter eggs. In the cut version of the movie, Hulk Hogan is from outer space and lands on earth after crash landing. He has special powers like the ability to burrow underneath the ground and pop up behind his enemies. If you like cinema, you'll love Mr. Nanny.

5 out of 5 stars Mr. Nanny.......2006-02-20

Very funny movie. Hilarious. Hulk Hogan and Sherman Helmsley are great in this movie. All of the actors are great.

5 out of 5 stars Mr. Nanny Rules!.......2004-08-23

What can I say, Christians have their bible, and I have Mr. Nanny. This has to be one of the greatest movies ever made. It takes the "AMAZING" acting skills of Hulk Hogan (the GREATEST wrestler of all time) with a plot that's undeniably sidsplittingly funny and you have a winner. The story is basically about how Hulk was at the top of the mountain in the wrestling world when one day, everything fell apart. While walking through the valley of the shadow of death, he winds up getting the job of Nanny for some problem children. Will Hulk get his wrestling career back on top? Will he turn these kids around? Buy it and find out! (As an added bonus, you get to see Hulk in a tutu!)

3 out of 5 stars AN OK MOVIE FROM THE HULKSTER.......2004-08-15

A FORMER WRESTLER [HULK HOGAN] TAKES A JOB BABYSITTING A RICH MAN'S KIDS WHO HAVE MADE EVERY OTHER BABYSITTER THEY EVER HAD QUIT THE JOB. FUNNY AT TIMES, BUT NOT ALWAYS ENTERTAINING. THIS IS AN OK MOVIE TO WATCH IF YOU'RE LOOKING AT TV WITH YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY OR IF YOU NEED A GOOD LAUGH. HOGAN DOESN'T DO TOO BAD IN THIS ONE.

3 out of 5 stars Czos Review.......2004-05-03

Mr. Nanny starring Hulk Hogan is quite literally so stupid it is funny. Really bad acting and a totally off the wall storyline make this worth viewing. If you like movies that you think are so bad their good you will like this one.
