They skydive, they kickbox, they travel through space. Is there anything these crayon-colored teens can't do? The answer seems a resounding "no," until some construction workers unwittingly open a manhole cover and loose Ivan Ooze upon Angel Grove. Although incarcerated in his egglike tomb for 6,000 years, Ooze gets right to work at that world domination thing. First up: Strip those eager teens of their morphin uniforms and associated powers and send their leader Zordon to his crystalline deathbed. There's nothing to do but head for a distant planet to meet up with a bikini-clad warrior babe who imparts ancient wisdom and power. Meanwhile, Ooze has been turning parents into zombies who craft giant metallic insects--all the better to take over the world with. This 90-minute film features some cast changes from the Fox television series, as well as better special effects and extended fight scenes, which account for the PG rating. Parents must weigh in for themselves on the famous violent-influence-or-not question. Although, like anything else, what seemed violent in 1995 may seem a bit tame today. Ages 5 and up. --Kimberly Heinrichs

4 out of 5 stars Awsome Movie!.......2007-04-10

First I saw "Turbo, A Power Rangers Movie" and I liked it, sort of. Then my Mom let me tape "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" and it was awsome. That Ivan Ooze guy was funny. Along with his other bad guys, Lord Zedd, Rita Repaulse, Goldar, and Mordant. And the fact the Ivan brings two giant machines of an ant, and a scurpion. Now the Rangers must defeat them and Ivan. YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS FILM!!!

3 out of 5 stars Best of the PR.......2007-03-14

This is by far the best power ranger movie out there and the best of it's long running series. However the price isn't worth it. You can go to your local wal-mart and pick this up in the 5.50 bin (that's where I got mine) without the shipping and handling... plus it's there right then and now.

1 out of 5 stars Great movie, or GREATEST MOVIE EVER!!!.......2007-03-02

I'm confused, does 1 star mean good or not??

3 out of 5 stars A kids review written by adult for child on adult's sign-on(approved by adult).......2007-01-20

I liked the part in the movie when the pink ranger was battling the monsters in the construction site.
I feel this movie is great because I collect these items, but most of all this movie shows the best information I need.

5 out of 5 stars Mighty Morphin Power Rangers the movie.......2007-01-11

My oldest grandson watched all of the power rangers movies, so when his younger brother age 6 started enjoying them, I bought him this movie as a Christmas present this last year and he really loves it. He watches it more than anything else.

Since audiences are inclined to F/X spectacle, it was easy to understand the 1998 box-office battle between Armageddon and Deep Impact, which shared almost exactly the same premise. But two films about the now-obscure long-distance runner Steve Prefontaine? Without Limits and Prefontaine were in production at the same time, with the cheaper Prefontaine rushed into theaters in 1997 while Without Limits was held back until the fall of '98. As it turned out, neither movie scored a deep impact at the box office, but Without Limits is much more satisfying as a competent, heartfelt slice of sports history. Billy Crudup (a rising star who strongly resembles the film's producer, Tom Cruise, in both looks and intensity) plays Prefontaine, or "Pre," the mustachioed runner who blazed out of Coos Bay, Oregon, in the late 1960s. The movie grazes across the major events of Pre's career at the University of Oregon, where he blew away the competition and positioned himself as the leading American runner (and a charismatic hunk) going into the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich--that star-crossed competition at which Arab terrorists kidnapped and killed members of the Israeli team. Though the film suffers from some of the built-in problems of the true-life biopic, director Robert Towne (who earlier made a remarkable track-and-field picture, Personal Best) captures the texture of the athletes' world. Acting honors go to Donald Sutherland, turning in an emotional performance as coach Bill Bowerman; while tutoring Pre, Bowerman was tinkering with some waffle-soled running shoes, a hobby that later became a little company called Nike. --Robert Horton

Description

What defines greatness? Who wins life's toughest contests? How much of a role do mental and psychological challenges play amid physical ones? "What It Takes" seeks to answer these questions and others. The documentary profiles four elite Ironman triathletes - three Canadians and one Australian who together have won 6 world championships and dozens of major races - and follows behind the scenes for a year as they quest for the 2005 world championship in Kona, Hawaii. Running just over 98 minutes, the movie includes footage of the athletes training, racing, and resting, and also opening up in extensive interviews to share their thoughts and feelings. Viewers learn much about the sport of triathlon and the duel for athletic supremacy, but also about the very human issues which confront the four athletes in an up-and-down, unpredictable year.
The movie was shot at 24 frames per second on a Panasonic SDX-900, and is presented in 16:9 widescreen format. Its rich cinematic feel and sweeping visual imagery from places around the globe - including Australia, Canada, Dubai, and numerous locations in the United States, including Hawaii - combine with compelling storylines to produce a fascinating narrative about four athletes, four human beings, and one dream, the Ironman world championship.

Without Limits is the best running movie I have ever seen. If this movie cannot motivate you, better call an ambulance. Great American character. Need to be more Steve Prefontaine's out there. Must see if you are a runner. Great movie even if you are not.

5 out of 5 stars Without limits.......2007-01-10

The greatest running movie of all time. I have to say i have prolly seen it well over 200 times. As well as my whole cross country and track team who joined in watching before every meet for 3 years.

3 out of 5 stars Story of an Overachiever in Sports........2006-09-14

This film documents the training and durability of Steve Prefontaine from Oregon to become a track star who overcame all odds to win. In his early live, he had been picked on by bullies because of his mother's nationality so, like Forrest Gump, he had to learn to run fast from those crass youngsters. When he finished high school, he was courted by several universities but chose to stay in his home state to be trained by Bill Bowerman at the University of Oregon.

Steve was a go-getter who really didn't know his place and was unsophiscated, not knowing how to pace himself. Word of talent gets around and the athletes stick together. He is told by his coach that it takes eight percent more energy to be a leader than a follower. Steve always wanted to lead the pack and be out front. Bowerman thought he was a god.

One song fit in with the action, the Barry White sexy talking, when he hurts his foot in a very strange way. He resorts to telling lies about exactly how he hurt it. Female can be an athlete's downfall, but Steve was unconcerned and had a determination to win at any cost. It was a likely story, and sometimes he had to admit that "it wasn't a nice thing to do."

He was able to run in the 1972 Olympics in Munich after graduating from high school in 1969. He burned himself out trying to be the best.

4 out of 5 stars A very good bio pick of a great runner who died too young.......2006-08-22

Steve Prefontaine, a record setting middle distance runner, won all his races against Americans. He led his race in the 1972 Olympics but faded to fourth by a breath. He died in a car accident (drinking was involved, but to what degree is debated) in 1975 at the age of 24. All admit that he wasn't the perfect physical specimen for a runner, but he was gritty and tenacious and would not give anything less than everything he had.

You would think it would be hard to come up with a full length bio pic about someone who died at 24. Yet, in 1998 there were TWO films that came out about his life. One from Disney and the other from Warner Brothers.

The Disney Film tells the story from the point of view of the assistant coach who was with him day-to-day, Bill Dellinger and Prefontaine's girlfriend at the time of his death, Nancy Alleman. It has a good cast with Jared Leto as Prefontaine, Ed O'Neil as Bill Dellinger and R. Lee Ermy as Bill Bowerman. Siskel and Ebert reviewed it and gave it two thumbs up.

The Warner Brothers release was produced by Tom Cruise and told from the point of view of Bill Bowerman with Dellinger as a minor character and Mary Marckx. In this film there is no Nancy Alleman and Mary is his girlfriend all the way through. Bowerman is played by Donald Sutherland and is given guru status. In both films, Prefontaine is shown as headstrong and difficult to coach. Bowerman did remain active with the Oregon program and with Prefontaine after his retirement.

In both films, Prefontaine is shown as a powerful and hard charging runner who also loved to party too much and had troubled relationships with his young women. The fans love him and his fame is correctly portrayed as is his loss at the '72 Olympics.

Since the accident occurred while Prefontaine was alone in the car no one can be certain how it happened. Both films have him swerving from a second car, but the Warner film shows the rock face that the car climbed and caused it to flip on top of the runner and crushing him. He was alive when first found, but the person could not flip the car alone and by the time they got back he was gone.

Prefontaine continues to inspire young runners and people who believe that testing your limits and giving all you have is important to living and understanding your life. That these tests are a kind of art that you create for yourself and are a kind of honesty that few actually experience (even though it is open to all).

Both movies are good, and you have to decide if seeing two films about such a short life is needed, but there is certainly much worse fare shown every night on TV and at your local movie house.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great Movie.......2007-06-20

This movie was excellent, the acting was impressive for a lifetime movie, it was good to see Amy Jo Johnson back in film.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Body delivers a perfect 10.......2007-05-18

Welcome to Andie's world. A world of school, training and eating disorders. Andie Bradley is a high achiever who accels at anything she does. When she gets the chance to train with an Olympic coach and has the opportunity to go to the Olympics, she jumps at it. Only after her and her mother relocate to Seattle does the pressure begin. In the most humiliating moment of her life she's put on scale in front of the entire gym and told to lose weight. So she does. Only she couldn't stop once she started. Thus, begins her spiraling downwards into the devestating world of anoroxia and bulmia. This is very well made movie and highlights the stress and strain that female athelites feel and the pressure to be thin and perfect. This is not your average movie. The stress Andie feels is acurately portrayed and the pain of her parents is raw and real. This movie achieves its goal to tell a story in a thoughtful and compelling way.

1 out of 5 stars Horrible acting.......2007-04-26

Not only was the acting horrible, but the process from being a normal teenage girl to a weight obsessed gymnast was not believable at all. Basically, the middle part was fine. The beginning and ending to this movie did not flow. I was not convinced she had an eating disorder.

3 out of 5 stars It Was Okay .......2006-12-08

I had bought this movie along with the DVD "Dying to be thin" which I found to be much more enjoyable to watch.

Perfect Body is about a girl athlete who was forced into the world of eating disorders. I found it disappointing that even though many people were saying how she was "too thin". The only thing different about her was the makeup on her face to make her appear gaunt and malnourished.

Overall the movie was okay but I could only watch it once.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect body V ideo .......2006-08-10

The Perfect Body video was just perfect! i enjoyed every moment of it. I had seen it before but i wanted to see it over and over again. it only took a few days to come in.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars good.......2007-01-04

i have enjoyed this movie since i was a child and its a great movie.

2 out of 5 stars Seriously Lacking..........2005-12-29

I was extremely disappointed with this movie. This movie really sucks compared to the first one. First a kid named Justin becomes a Power Ranger after another one is injured and the character and the acting just doesn't cut it. What also sucks is that Kimberly and Jason from the original Mighty Morphin PRs are there and it is clear that Tommy still have feelings for Kimberly and as a fan of the Tommy/Kimberly romance Kat being there just ruins everything. Divatox is cool as a villian but doesn't compare to Rita and Ivan Ooze as she is too conceited and superficial which gets annoying after a while. Overall, at this point the series Power Rangers has changed so much that what made the Power Rangers popular is completely GONE. I can't even identify with the characters anymore. EVERYTHING has changed. The only thing I did like was the technological advances in their Zords and their gadgets. Thats it.

1 out of 5 stars NOT for young children.......2005-12-19

My 3 year old son got so bored watching this movie, although he is a big fan of power rangers (he has to see every dvd he owns every day at least once) his complain was that the power rangers only wear their costumes in 2 or 3 scenes.

5 out of 5 stars Power Rangers DVD.......2005-08-27

For the product being used, it was in perfect condition. Very pleased with my purchase!

5 out of 5 stars Turbo Power Baby!!!.......2005-06-03

ok at first I didn't think this movie would be any good, I wasn't a big fan of katherine and don't even remember tanya but forgetting that It actually turned out to be a really good movie especially seeing as how not only was there there the now infamous
"Shift Into Turbo" line but more importantly fans of the kim/tommy relationship will be very happy seeing as how there was the definate look of love when he find out what happened to her not to mention the times he's calling out to her and desperatly tryin to find her [don't want to give away those scenes]. Also, with a great plot that was a little better than the first movie and an awesome soundtrack there was just a hint of a little somthing going on with kimberly and jason so hopfully fans of the show will find somthing to talk about and find scenes in there that their gonna end up loving for a long time...my only problem was the end because they spent a fair amout of time on buildup with k/t -{{ remember the end credits anyone? he so wanted to hug her amoung other things}}- and to bring in the kat thing was a bad move, it lacked any feeling what so ever and was just fake in having it in there buy in spite of that I loved it alot.
PS- take not as i'm sure one of the only reasons why it ended that way was because with the series 1-3 and this alpha's magical christmas thing that i've just heard about and the stupid "letter" that i won't bring up i'm sure that they had it in there because ppl were asking about a possible reunite and it wasn't going to happen whick s#cks! I could go on but it's suppsed to be a review so i won't. But it was cool to see ernie in the end fight scene.

Description

Uneasy Allies Track Down an Escaped Killer OSCAR(r) nominees Burt Reynolds (Boogie Nights) and Bruce Dern (Coming Home) star in a tense Western about the uneasy alliance between a convict and a Territorial Marshal. Billy Bucklin (David Figlioli) busts out en route to Yuma Prison, so Marshal Hutchinson (Dern) has his brother-in-law, John McKay (Reynolds), released to help bring him down. Hutch offers a possible pardon for the killing McKay claims was in self-defense, and also reveals that his deputy, John's son Joshua (Seth Peterson), is tracking the dangerous man. Elizabeth Kennedy (Amy Jo Johnson) is saved from Bucklin's henchmen after her family is massacred, and doggedly joins the three searchers as they try to get him-dead or alive.

2 out of 5 stars Great actors in a made-for-TV mediocrity.......2005-08-13

First, I love Bruce Dern and Burt Reynolds. I could watch them just sit around and talk, and in fact those scenes are the best part of the movie. Hard Ground is a very predictable western with very predictable special effects (how many dynamite blow-ups in slow motion with people flying have you seen lately?)

The young female survivor of a stage coach massacre has got "sand" and alternates between being feisty and vulnerable on a very predictable basis. The estranged son of Burt is also heroic but oversleeps on the trail of the bad guys. The two veterans and the two young people pull together in the end to a very predictable climactic shoot-em-up with a very predictable outcome. Have I said this movie is totally formulaic and predictable?

Nevertheless, Burt and Bruce are always worth the price of admission, so I'd watch it, but not expect too many surprises. Hopefully next time the producers will actually hire writers who can develop characters and throw a few surprises in to spice up the movie.

4 out of 5 stars hard to kill.......2005-08-06

Another good movie of Bruce Dern as Marshal Hutchinson still crafty as he was in the movie "Hang Them High" and that was 30 yr's ago and still he looks good and very impressive.Burt and Bruce has such a good understanding that it seems both injoyed making this movie.Burt Reynolds as John McKay who was being transfered to Yuma Prison along with David Figlioli as Billy Bucklin as the chief villian and rest of the hardend criminal's in a prison van and they breakout leaving Burt Reynolds to die in the desert without water or horse. Thats where the story starts. The Outdoor Photography is really beautiful. The sunset in the mountains is breath taking.Marshal's sister married john McKay and had a son named joshua (Seth Peterson)who was broughtup by the marshal and he becomes his deputy and a decent citizen.Joshua rescue's a Elizabeth Kennedy (Amy Jo Johnson) on the way following the tracks of escapies. Its a deadly game of Manhunt,Story is Written by a famous writer Frank Q Dobbs (Johnson County War, Streets of Laredo)It was also directed by him. I liked this movie as any other good old western.

Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing.......2007-01-22

I am notorious for liking bad natural disaster movies... but this is awful, even for me. The effects were awful (the opening sequence is just ridiculous), the acting very poor, the overall effect is not very interesting. The best acting was done by Xander, but this performance was mediocre for him. I just wasn't impressed at all. I'd rent this before thinking of buying it. I'm sure glad I did.

3 out of 5 stars MUSHY MAGMA.......2007-01-01

Originally airing on the Sci-Fi channel, this is another one of those disaster movies with a wholly illogical scientific basis and mediocre special effects. As a disaster movie, it also fails to deliver any real scenes of personal crisis or danger, leaving us with a talky treatise on governmental incompetence.
Xander Berkeley is quite good as the heroic scientist whose theory of cataclysmic disaster is rejected by other scientists; Reyko Aylesworth is very good as his estranged wife whose own life may be in peril; and Amy Jo Johnson is the oh so bright graduate student.
While certainly not a classic disaster flick, it's an okay timepasser.

3 out of 5 stars Typical Made for TV Disaster Movie.......2006-12-15

I won't spoil this movie for anyone who hasn't seen it so this review will be short. Having seen this movie on the Sci Fi Channel, I can say it is about average for a made for TV disaster movie. It starts off good with an interesting premise and quickly goes downhill as the plot become cheesier and cheesier.

The only bright spots in the entire movie are the characters played by Xander Berkeley and Reiko Aylesworth who most people probably know from the Fox show "24." Despite the mediocre script and ridiculous plotline, both manage to shine in their roles. If you're a fan of either Xander or Reiko, the movie is worth purchasing.

4 out of 5 stars Don't judge a book..........2007-04-21

If I had come across this movie on the shelf at the video store, I would have not just passed it by but avoided it overtly. It has the stupidest DVD cover ever. Which is ironic considering the lead character's line of work.

I gave it a chance for a couple of reasons. For one, I am always searching for the ultimate Annabeth Gish vessel, and for two, it had a solid romantic premise.

Regarding point number one, this is, in my opinion, definately the "one." As you may recall, Annabeth had a few hits in the 80s and then kind of fell off the map, fame-wise, after that. It's an absolute shame, really.

The fact is, she is brilliant at what she does -- heart rending emotions and gleaming charm. She does not disappoint in this movie. Her character is constantly making you want to reach through the screen and hug her. Thankfully she has her best friend of many years to do that for us. And for that perfect reason, this movie has officially ascended to one of my favorites - certainly within the ranks of Annabeth Gish's filmography.

If you can look past the annoying characterization of Amy Jo Johnson's role, the movie is absolutely worth at least one viewing, if not several.

2 out of 5 stars Supermarket-quality movie.......2006-09-10

I first saw this movie on TV (early morning),and wasn't surprised to later see it at a supermarket checkout line.

Frank Whaley plays a schlub who's considering working for 'Playboy' (a scary thought, this movie giving fear a new name),and who may (or may not)be in love with Annabeth Gish, his childhood sweetheart. The story is needlessly confusing, but you know the two will come together because they're meant for each other.Awwwwww....

1 out of 5 stars Mediocre writing & direction.......2006-06-10

I like romantic comedies in general, even some that I recognize as being formulaic, but I didn't like this movie. The weaknesses were immediately apparent--awkward dialogue, lack of visual style--but I hoped the movie would overcome its faults. It didn't. Unlike, for example, Wedding for Bella, which had some similar shortcomings and obvious outcomes, this movie never made me care about the lead characters--they were two-dimensional sketches rather than fleshed-out characters. I liked Amy Jo Johnson, although being a 30-year-old playing "the teenager" suggests a reason for her undistinguished career, and I liked Liz Vassey who was also relaxed in her character rather than awkwardly acting a part. Otherwise, nothing to see here. Move along.

5 out of 5 stars A SUPERB OLD FASHION ROMANTIC COMEDY.......2005-05-07

"Pursuit of Happiness" is a superb old fashion romantic comedy film. Actors are really good, especially I liked Annabeth Gish very much. She is a talented, beautiful and smart actress. It seems to be a simple romantic movie but it is much more than that. The perfect atmosphere of the movie can make you feel a lot of different emotions. It shows me a lot of truth that I was not aware of. It shows that the job, money, carrer and things like that are not really important. The important thing is to aware of the day, love the day, seize the day and just be happy because there are somebody around you that loves you whatever you are or you will become. If you want to watch a good film, feel wondeful things and see good acting, I suggest this film strongly.

5 out of 5 stars Good offbeat comedy. Worth a rental .......2005-01-14

The Pursuit of Happiness is a light romantic comedy about a man who is dissatisfied with his life. He thinks changing his job and relationships will make things better but winds up in more misery. It's not until the end of the movie that he realizes the things that make him happy are right in front of him. Most will want to see this movie for Amy Jo Johnson, TV's "Pink Ranger" but the other actors in this entertaining film give great performances in this fun movie.

5 out of 5 stars Amy Jo.......2006-07-26

The movie is awesome as far as tv movies go. Amy Jo was amazing, definitely proved how talented she is...a definite plus for amy jo fans! The character she played was a good girl seeking popularity and the attention of her crash that most of us can relate too, so when she gets the chance despite the fact it involves a joke gone wrong, she she goes for it. Soon she becomes driven by guilt when her teacher ends up dead from the practical joke she took place in. Movie is much better than my description and acting is pretty good, but Amy Jo steals the spot light.

3 out of 5 stars Killing your teacher, even accidentally, is not a smart move, boys and girls.......2006-03-19

I had to remind myself that I checked out "Killing Mr. Griffin" because Michelle Williams was in it and I had thrown all of her movies that I had not seen into my queue because she has done some fairly interesting Independent films since "Dawons's Creek." However, this made for television movie predates those dates. It was not really at the top of the queue, but I have a lot of movies on short, long and very long wait ahead of it and was looking for a horror film for Saturday night and this is what arrived.

The heroine of the film turns out to be Susan McConnell (Amy Jo Johnson, from "Felicity"), who used to be the favorite student of Mr. John Griffin (Jay Thomas), her English teacher. But her approaching senior year, boys, or other indeterminate issues related to teenage angst have set her back. The class is discussing and reading aloud Shakespeare's "Tragedy of Julius Caesar" and Amy's reading of the title role at the start of the assassination scene lacks the arrogance that Mr. Griffin demands. A few harsh words from the teacher send Amy back to her seat in tears. It is after this point that we learn that Amy is one of his better students. This is a surprise because the way he treats her is indistinguishable from the way he treats Mark Kinney (Scott Bairstow), a student with arrogance oozing from every pore who does not like being forced to apologize to his teacher before the class.

Mark exercises the divine right of the Big Man on Campus to take down the teacher who pointedly asks him, "Has anybody ever told you 'no' and really meant it?" So he gathers his small group of fans and gets them to go along with what he describes as a prank: they will kidnap Mr. Griffin, humiliate him the way he has humiliated them, get him to beg and videotape it. Either Griffin will treat them right, or the video will makes its way around the school. Mark gets his best bud Dave Ruggles (Mario López) to get Susan to be part of the plot. She does not want to, but changes her mind when she is the target of the teacher's barbs. Susan delivers the teacher to the trap, but when he is attacked his first words are for her to run to safety and her second thoughts kick in at that point. We are encouraged to have such thoughts about Mr. Griffin when he chats with his wife about what he is trying to accomplish in the classroom, but when class is in session he just seems like an angry burnout who is incapable of making a connection of convincing his students that he cares about either them or the material. Just film one of his classes and the principal is going to show this guy the door.

Short version of what happens at that point is that Mr. Griffin ends up dead and the only people who do not know who did it and how it ended up happening are the characters in this movie. So Susan and her classmates think they are in a mystery, when this 1997 television movie is just another teenage horror show. Susan ignores several obvious clues until she finally finds proof positive. Does this mean that the film will try to overstep its limitations to come up with an important or at least intrinsically interesting way of turning the tables? No it does not, and if you have not agreed to with this rating by that point then the coda provided by Susan's father will certainly have you reaching for your remote to at least spare you from wasting time on the credits.

1 out of 5 stars No closed caption or english subtiles........2004-11-30

I am not happy with that dvd cause it says has closed caption and english subtiles on dvd but i put that dvd in player and it has no closed caption or english subtiles, It is not fair for deaf or hard of hearing people. That dvd looks good but no closed caption or english subtiles. U need to put them for deaf people to watch that dvd. I put one star cause no closed caption.

4 out of 5 stars Great page-to-screen adaptation.......2004-01-27

Lois Duncan's Killing Mr. Griffin was an interesting novel in its own right, but this made for television movie manages to improve on the original. Amy Jo Johnson, the pretty young actress many may recognize as the former Pink Power Ranger, stars as Susan McConnell. Susan is a good student, yet she is shy and awkward around the popular crowd. She is especially shy around Dave (former "Saved by the Bell" player Mario Lopez), the handsome jock she has a crush on. Mark, the leader of the group Dave hangs with, is bent on becoming student body president and the most popular guy in high school. After being humiliated by Mr. Griffin, the notoriously strict English teacher, Mark develops a plan to get revenge. They will kidnap Mr. Griffin as a prank to humiliate him as he has humiliated students. Susan is unwittingly sucked into the plan by her feelings for Dave and her desire to become popular. Dave is pressured into using Susan's obvious feelings for him to a nasty advantage. The plan to kidnap Griffin goes almost as planned...but then he dies unexpectedly, and things spin out of control. The climax of the film is better than that in the novel, with just enough suspense to keep viewers hooked. Overall, this movie was excellent, and serves as a grim reminder of what peer pressure is capable of. The only qualm I had was that it was not a theatrical release. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Would you go as far as murder for payback?.......2004-01-26

Killing Mr. Griffin could as well be true. A lot of people would go through anything just to fit in. But could you lose everything you know and understand in the process? An understandable movie about Responsibility, and Mistrust in the way of fitting in.

Mr. Griffin is a strict teacher. Maybe too strict. Five seniors at the school Mr. Griffin teaches at think so. When revenge is the first thought that comes to mind, Mark, David, Jeff, Bree, and Tori set out to find a way to get back at Mr. Griffin for what he's done, but no one is volunteering for bait. When Susan McConnell is put under the spotlight for what seems a harmless prank, she decides to go for it. Besides she gets a couple of satisfactions to go with it. One, she gets to fit in. Two, she can get Mr. Griffin back at embarrasing her in class, and Three, she can hang out with David, the guy she has a crush on. When Susan sees what doesn't seem like an inoccent prank, she goes to where they have left poor Mr. Griffin tied up, and hostage. But Mr. Griffin isn't moving. He isn't even breathing. He's dead. After trying to figure out what happened to Mr. Griffin, the six are faced up against the biggest decision of their lives. Tell what happened, or keep it a secret.

An amazing story. The characters may have been mixed up a little bit, but it still made a great story. Lois Duncan did well with the book, but I think the movie was better. In the book you weren't as sorry for Mr. Griffin as you were watching the movie. Jay Thomas gave an awesome portrayal of the overlystrict Mr. Griffin. I think they kind of mixed Susan and her friend Maya up on accident. Susan was supposed to be the loner with glasses, and not exactly attractive. But Susan was very attractive in this movie. It was kind of hard to believe she couldn't get a boyfriend. Like someone said before, Tori and Bree were a split up of Betsie in the book, but I don't think Betsie was exactly that "I'm so cool" kind of girl in the book. The boys were portrayed great. Snobbish, not exactly serious.

A great movie to the book which I also recommend. This time I recommend the movie first. Than read the book. Either way, Mr. Griffin will die twice. 5 stars without a doubt.

This is by far the best power ranger movie out there and the best of it's long running series. However the price isn't worth it. You can go to your local wal-mart and pick this up in the 5.50 bin (that's where I got mine) without the shipping and handling... plus it's there right then and now.

5 out of 5 stars Best Rock movie ever.......2005-04-30

The movie was fantastic! it has romance, tragedy and a hint of comedy. Even though it plays off in the 60's it has a great plot and the music is fabulous!! It is my fave old-school movie in the history of movies. Everyone of all ages should go and see it. You won't regret it...

5 out of 5 stars The forgotten Woodstock Band.......2004-06-05

For people who think everyone was out of it during the late sixties.Don't be fooled, this tape reveals one of the least known musicans that were light-years ahead in fusion music.Recreation of this little known band was more than fatefully reproduced in tale of a great group that should have remembered as one of the best groups at woodstock (1969).A must buy for the music lover.

5 out of 5 stars This movie ROCKED!!!!! :).......2004-01-16

When I first saw this movie it was only becuase I like movies based on true stories, then when I saw Amy Jo Jhonson I thought oh my god the pink ranger is actually making her career work. The movie was very sad and I thought oh my god how could such a thing happen to a nice girl, then when I saw the rest of the movie I was hooked I saw this movie every chance I could. Amy Jo Jhonson did such an amazing job and her singing was so incredible. It proved that even the worst things could end up being the best things.

Hey all you classic rockers, yuppies, Music history fans or anybody out there that wants to experience a bit of groovy history, this is an excellent and entertaining true story. It does a good job of recreating allot of the look and feel of the 60s and early 70s even though it was a "made for TV" movie. This is a real story about a real gifted band and a gifted young woman who experienced an all to real tragedy. If you did not know this was fact you would think it was just typical Hollywood fiction. That fact that it's real gives it a powerful appeal. You need to see and hear this. This band had potential to impact and change the direction of music in their day. They were ahead of their time in many ways. Yon can also get their new Reunion CD, "Live at Last" here on Amazom.com [...] They are the perfect companions to this movie. If you are a fan of the 60s and early 70s, if you are a music history buff or just want to experience some escapist entertainment with a true edge to it then check this movie out. It is really cool. Enjoy!!!
