5 out of 5 stars All of them.......2007-06-12

I have enjoyed having them as my own and adding to my collection so I can watch them whenever I want and as often as I want but most especially with no commercials and no editing!! Thanks.

5 out of 5 stars Fun, Fun, Fun.......2007-06-03

We love the effort that has been put into these DVDs. We will often set the disk to play just the "song" chapters.

We use the "sing-a-long" setting to teach our daughter to read.

If you love the music purchase this set. If you love the movies purchase this set.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic - All the great Musicals in one compact package.......2007-05-21

Not only does this set have all the classics there are bonus features (extra cd's) on each glorious movie. You cannot go wrong with this set. If you have children, this is a must-buy item - they will view these movies over and over again. And no worries about inappropriate materials - this is good wholesome entertainment for the entire family.

4 out of 5 stars A Collection of Great Musical Dramas.......2007-05-14

The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organisation has released this boxed set containing six of their film musicals, each of which comes with a second disc of bonus archival material and documentaries elaborating on the shows. The extra content varies: For example, in Carousel, the film of Liliom, the book on which the R&H show is based is included in its entirety. The bonus discs are themselves compelling viewing, especially prior to watching the main feature, which could be at a later stage because it could be too long to do both in one sitting; besides, these are the great masterpieces of the American Musical Theatre and Drama, although State Fair was first a film, and transferrred onto the stage more recently, and posthumously for the authors.

The stage and film musicals that Richard Rodgers, music, and Oscar Hammerstein II, lyrics, collaborated on, in both cases later in their careers, are the greatest of musical dramas to be found.

It makes revisiting these shows all the more interesting. These are the CinemaScope 55 versions. The Rodgers & Hammerstein Collection [Remastered] (The Sound of Music / The King and I / Oklahoma! / South Pacific / State Fair / Carousel)

5 out of 5 stars A Joyous Viewing Experience.......2007-05-13

The quality and beauty of the productions was first rate. My wife and I have enjoyed them all thoroughly and we will view them over and over again. Thank you for making them available.

Paul Newman's career slipped onto an unstoppable track with Somebody Up There Likes Me, his 1956 biopic about boxer Rocky Graziano. Of course that was his second picture, the first being the oft-joked-about bungle The Silver Chalice. Newman's Method-y intensity and dazzling good looks brought him stardom, and his intelligence and uncommon seriousness as an actor kept his movies interesting, especially as he tackled some of the best roles of the "antihero" era--an era he helped create.

Somebody Up There Likes Me is included in The Paul Newman Collection, a bulging seven-DVD package that shakes out thusly: three late-1950s titles from the beginning of his career, one mid-sixties hit, and three lesser films of the early 1970s. It's by no means a "best of" compilation, being limited to Warners and MGM titles, but it gives a flavor of Newman in his prime time. He got the Graziano role after James Dean died, and his performance is a very busy, post-Brando jumble of tics and mumbles. The movie holds up nicely as a boxing picture, and the location NYC shooting won an Oscar for cinematographer Joseph Ruttenberg (you can see why director Robert Wise got hired to do West Side Story after this). Sal Mineo and Steve McQueen are in the cast as Newman's fellow j.d.s.

The Left-Handed Gun (1958), based on a teleplay by Gore Vidal, is a truly weird, compulsively watchable artifact from the psychological-Western genre. Newman plays Billy the Kid, glowering and grimacing like a rebel without a cause. It's one of those films that has much more to do with the time it was made than the time it is set; also notable as the big-screen debut for stage and TV director Arthur Penn. The Young Philadelphians (1959) is more conventional, an entertaining soap opera about a young lawyer (Newman) with an old-money Philly name but no money, who gets burned by love and decides to connive his way to the top. Young Robert Vaughn snagged an Oscar nomination for a showy turn as an alcoholic society lad.

Harper (1966) is chockfull of kooky mid-Sixties design and Rat Pack patter (courtesy screenwriter William Goldman). But it must be said that Newman is miscast as the melancholic private eye of Ross Macdonald's literary world, here re-imagined as a wisecracking hepcat who mugs his way through a missing-persons investigation. The supporting cast is a weird over-the-hill gang including Lauren Bacall, Janet Leigh, and Shelley Winters. That film's hero, Lew Harper (renamed from Macdonald's "Archer"), returned in 1976's The Drowning Pool, a more bearable if somewhat humdrum whodunit set in New Orleans. Newman's wife, Joanne Woodward, has a supporting part, but the picture is most notable for an early Melanie Griffith nymphet role.

Pocket Money (1972) is one of those only-in-the-seventies movies that pairs Newman with Lee Marvin in a drowsy, nearly plotless comedy. Both actors give elaborate performances: Newman plays a numbskull two-bit cattle broker who takes absolutely everything literally, and Marvin is his buddy in Mexico who signs on for an ill-considered cattle-buying job. One of the credited screenwriters is Terrence Malick, and the movie has a highly eccentric feel for language. Finally, The Mackintosh Man (1973) is one of the periodic duds that director John Huston would crank out in his otherwise starry career, with Newman as a spy on an incomprehensible case in England. The first half is a red herring, and Dominique Sanda (more recently of The Conformist) is out of depth with the English language. It's a bleak film with a kind of grinding fascination, and the Maurice Jarre score is catchy but fatally overused. --Robert Horton

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A sample of (lesser known) Newman.......2007-05-14

Paul Newman is one of the all-time great movie actors with a career that now spans six decades. Among his biggest movies are The Hustler, Hud, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, Cool Hand Luke The Verdict, The Color of Money (for which he won the Oscar) and even Cars. None of these movies are in the Paul Newman Collection, which features seven of his second-tier efforts. That does not mean they are bad movies, merely not as big.

In chronological order, the first movie in the set is Somebody Up There Likes Me, a biopic of boxer Rocky Graziano. Directed by Robert Wise (who had previously made one of the best boxing movies ever, The Set-Up), this is an entertaining film of a man successfully wrestling his inner demons to become a success. In one of his earliest roles, Newman is already showing why he a cinema immortal.

The next movie is The Left-Handed Gun, a decent, if unspectacular, version of the Billy the Kid story (the best version of this story is Sam Peckinpah's Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid). Newman, as the title character, plays Billy similarly to his Rocky: a self-destructive outlaw. Unlike Graziano, however, Billy never finds redemption through family and friends.

The Young Philadelphians has a more easy-going Newman playing the ambitious Anthony Lawrence who climbs the social and business ladder, often with more than a little ruthlessness. When his best friend is accused of murder, his efforts towards acquittal threaten both his happiness and reputation. This is an entertaining melodrama. A little bonus is seeing a pre-Batman Adam West as a man who is very briefly married to Anthony's mother.

Harper is the first of two Newman movie adaptations of Ross MacDonald's Lew Archer novels (the name was changed to continue Newman's string of "H" movies: Hud, Hustler, etc.). This fun private eye story is a real all-star flick: it also stars Janet Leigh, Lauren Bacall, Robert Wagner and Shelly Winters. The plot deals with Harper's attempts to find a missing - apparently kidnapped - man; in his search, he unearths all kinds of family scandal. The sequel (and last movie, chronologically) is The Drowning Pool, which transports Harper to New Orleans to help an old flame with a blackmailer. Like most sequels, this is a pale shadow of its predecessor, but it has its moments. It also has Melanie Griffith in one of her earliest roles.

Pocket Money is probably the weakest in the set, an amiable but meandering movie with Newman as a modern day cowboy hired to buy and transport some cattle for a shady businessman. Lee Marvin co-stars as his friend and partner. It's a movie in which the parts just don't seem to fit together all that well.

Finally, there is the Mackintosh Man, a spy flick with Newman as a British agent out to stop a Soviet network inside England that specializes in smuggling people out of the country. While this is an interesting movie, Newman's foray into James Bond territory is a little too serious to be fully enjoyed. From an acting standpoint, this is probably his least compelling role in the set.

There are lots of bonuses with the set, including commentaries on the first four movies; the best of these is William Goldman's amusing and biting track for Harper. On the Amazon rating system, Pocket Money is a low-three stars, The Left Handed Gun, The Mackintosh Man and the Drowning Pool a straight three, and the remainder four stars. As is my practice with boxed sets, I average this out to a high-three stars or low-four, but the extras push it up to a comfortable four stars. You don't get the best or most well-known Newman with this set, but you do get a good sampling of his talent and range.

5 out of 5 stars movie buff.......2007-03-11

I really enjoyed watching theses seven movies the Young Philadelphians, Somebody Up There Likes me and, the Drowning Pool and Harper were amoung my favorite. the Left handed Gun, the Mackintosh Man, and Pocket were good but seemed to be a little slow in parts. I still enjoyed them however, I've always liked Paul Newman, and there are not to many movies,
he has been in that I haven't liked.

5 out of 5 stars The Paul Newman Collection.......2007-03-08

I love this collection. I have some of these on VCR but now I have them all on DVD and I am thrilled.

4 out of 5 stars One of His Best Movies - Some Not So Great.......2007-02-14

"Somebody Up There Likes Me", the movie that made Paul Newman,is included here, along with stylishly dated "Harper", and one of thousands (it seems) movies about Billy the Kid, "The Left-Handed Gun". The others are typically cool Newman movies. A pretty good collection, but I'd still like to see a box set of his classics.

5 out of 5 stars It's about time!.......2007-01-23

I've waited years for the DVD release of my favorite Newman movie, The Young Philadelphians. That opus is a wonderful example of 1950s melodrama with wonderful characters and acting, a joy to watch. Nevertheless, Hollywood for years busied itself with releasing DVDs of every middling new movie and TV series, ignoring quality works like TYP and the Heston/Hayward masterpiece, The President's Lady, which still is not available. For the first time The Young Philadelphians is here on DVD.

Enjoy!

It's time now to release The President's Lady and others of its type!

Acclaimed director John Sturges (The Magnificent Seven, Bad Day at Black Rock, Gunfight at the O.K. Corral) turns the legends of the West upside down in this rip-roaring western comedy about the year Denver was nearly devastated by a droughtof whiskeyand had to have fortywagonloads imported through very harshand very thirstyterritory! Academy AwardÂ(r) winners* Burt Lancaster and Martin Landau team with OscarÂ(r) nominee** Lee Remick inthis beautifully filmed epic adventure that "wins both laughs and thrills" (The Hollywood Reporter)! Also starring Jim Hutton, Brian Keith and Donald Pleasence, this irreverent and literally dry look at frontier life is "possibly the funniest western ever made" (Los Angeles Times)!

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good Flick!.......2007-05-15

This was an entertaining film, epecially the performances of Burt Lancaster, Lee Remick, the "Good Republican"....Brian Keith, and Robert Wilke. Though none of these fine actors are generally known for their comedic talents, they pull off this whiskey tale in style!

5 out of 5 stars The Hallelujah Trail.......2007-01-10

this is a laugh a minute movie, it gets everyone going.
a Western thatmakes joke at everything from drunks to Temperance

4 out of 5 stars BIG, BIG WESTERN, BIG, BIG COMEDY!.......2006-03-07

I first saw this great comedy in our local Cinerama theatre in Denver, Colorado in its first release. Our whole family roared and have enjoyed catching HALLELUJAH TRAIL whenever it pops up on TV, which hasn't been too often. It pretty much disappeared over the last 40 years, so it's wonderful that it's been released in all its glorious widescreen panorama on DVD. No extras except the trailer, but this is the only way you'll get to enjoy John Sturges' fine film letterboxed, so pick 'er up! The cinematography (by Bruce Surtees) is gorgeous, making full use of the location filming and expansive skies. The cast throw themselves into their parts with broad gusto, and Burt Lancaster even gets the chance to rib his own image with those fabulous teeth. Brian Keith makes sure we all remember that he is a taxpayer and a good Republican, Lee Remick does a pretty fair drunk act when it comes time, Donald Pleasance as Oracle Jones goes wide-eyed whenever the proper amount of strong whiskey prompts a vision (NOW I SEE IT!), Jim Hutton gets to wrestle with Pamela Tiffin, and Martin Landau gets huge laughs with very few lines as Walks-Stooped-Over (his expressive face gets to do most of the talking). Stalwart character actors like Dub Taylor and John Dehner (the narrator) fill in the rest of the cast, making this a joy from start to finish. Now, be advised: this is not your frenetic slam-bang speed-edited comedy. HALLELUJAH TRAIL plays out its story at a deliberate, almost leisurely pace. It knows that the laughs are there; Sturges (GUNFIGHT AT THE O.K. CORRAL, THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, MAROONED, ICE STATION ZEBRA, THE EAGLE HAS LANDED) allows the story to unfold naturally. This was, unfortunately, his only comedy, but he does a fine job. Pop some corn, grab a big soft drink (or maybe something stronger--it's going to be a hard winter in Denver) and laugh along with THE HALLELUJAH TRAIL!

5 out of 5 stars Hallelujah Trail- dvd.......2006-01-16

Amazon.com essential video

Hardly ever mentioned in the category of lightning-paced comedies--the His Girl Friday and Preston Sturges kind--is this breathless cold war farce from the great Billy Wilder. Adapted from a one-act play by Ferenc Molnár, Wilder and collaborator I.A.L. Diamond's hilarious screenplay is a whirlwind collection of one-liners, gags, and double-entendres, anchored for the cameras by Jimmy Cagney's cagey and frenetic performance (one of his best), and, under Wilder's direction, executed with diamond-like precision. The gangster-movie icon plays a Coca-Cola executive in West Berlin (the film's 1961 release put it squarely in the middle of the world's laserlike focus on East vs. West tensions) who has parlayed expanding American consumerism into a chance to break through the Iron Curtain and sell "the pause that refreshes" to thirsty comrades. But when his Atlanta boss's visiting 17-year-old daughter (Pamela Tiffin), a boy-crazy Southern tornado, reveals that she has secretly married an American-hating German Commie (Horst Buchholz), Cagney's big-American-fish-in-a-European-pond lifestyle is threatened, especially once Daddy hops a plane to Germany. As the plot accelerates, the lines literally spit out of the cast's mouths--the title refers to Cagney's character's rapid-fire rattling off of lists of tasks--and Wilder's penchant for urbane nastiness is perfectly measured by the order of the whole crazy circus. This movie takes gleeful potshots at both sides of a conflict that terrified audiences in its day, but has aged beautifully to become a fascinating time capsule, an exhilarating litany of zingers and a potent blueprint for razor-sharp political satire. Cagney would retire after this movie for 20 years (returning for 1981's Ragtime), and it's hardly any wonder: he has the energy of 10 performances in this one film. --Robert Abele

Description

James Cagney gives one of the richest, funniest, most breathlessly paced performances of his career (The New York Times) in this Billy Wilder comedy that defrosts the Cold War with gales of laughter! C. R. MacNamara (Cagney), a top-ranking executive stationed in West Berlin, is charged with the care of his boss visiting daughter. But when he learns that she's gone and married a fierce young communistand that his boss will be arriving in town in 24 hoursMac must transform the unwilling beatnik into a suitable son-in-law or risk losing his chance for advancement! Before you cansay one, two, three, his plans have spun out of control and into an international incident that could infuriate the Russians, the Germans and, worst of all, his own suspicious wife (Arlene Francis)!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars One of the best!.......2007-06-05

Classic Cagney plus Billy Wilder's directing make this is a gem!

5 out of 5 stars Crackling Cold War Farce.......2007-02-26

James Cagney took a 20 year sabbatical from films before returning in "Ragtime" in 1981. This should have been his last flick because his work here is nothing less than sublime. Cagney chews on the juicy dialogue provided to him by director Billy Wilder and co-scripter I.A.L. Diamond like a hungry bulldog. He's matched(almost) word-for-word by Horst Buchholz as his Red adversary. Wilder and Diamond offer astutely comical observations about Capitalism and Communism that are both succinct and side-splitting. This film probably packed more of a punch during the Cold War but 45 years on has lost none of it's luster. This and "Dr. Strangelove" would make an excellent double-bill in understanding (and laughing at) the absurdity of the Cold War.

5 out of 5 stars The jokes still work.......2007-01-31

My wife is Russian, and grew up under Communism... this film left both of us laughing so hard we had to keep pausing the DVD to catch up. The dialogue skewers both Capitalist and Communist equally, and uses that split to make fun of marriage, European aristocracy, Germany in the aftermath of WW2, and everything else that strays onto the screen.
Make sure to hit the bathroom before you start watching this film, because you won't want to get up once it starts.

5 out of 5 stars Great Comedy.......2007-01-08

If you like fast past comedy, this is the movie for you. This is an all time classic. Cagney gives a great performance. I wasn't much a fan before, but after seeing him in this movie, I sure am now.

5 out of 5 stars Typical!!!.......2007-01-05

This movie can only be totally understood by someone who understands both the German psyche, and the American psyche ( just as Billy Wilder could !), and who did experience at least a little the Cold War time period. If the viewer happens to be familiar with Post-WWII Berlin, all the better. Unless the movie is used for study purposes, I am not sure if a less than 50 year old viewer will appreciate the movie to the fullest. In fact the younger the viewer, the less he'll be able to enjoy all the subtilities.

1 out of 5 stars A spooky, whodunnit murder thriller from the 70's.......2007-05-24

THE FIFTH CHORD (1975) is a spooky, whodunnit murder thriller
starring the talented Franco Nero, who packs his characteristic
convincing, intense physical and mental presence to this Italian-made
    movie.

A number of elements from this movie, are typically from the 70's
making the release a bit dated, such as the sideburns haircut, the
architecture (wooden homes, with sharp geometry),_ raincoats and the
simplicity of the man and woman relationships that are portrayed.

There is a conscious effort to make this movie stylish, by filming in
custom, specially designed fancy homes, among the top 10% wealthy I
would presume, and by the camera focusing on dozens and dozens of
paintings on the walls of almost each and every home and office.

From a cinematographical point of view, the camera shots are crystal
clear, and well focused. The DVD transfer is outstanding.

Some critics might suggest an excessively passive filming, but that's
not the case at all, as the movie has action scenes although mainly
towards the end of the movie, with probably a hand held camera.

The soundtrack, by Ennio Morricone, further emphasizes the spooky,
neurotic mood that the movie tries to tell, and suceeds in doing so,
although this movie will perhaps work best for those suffering from
    insomnia.

Overall, a well filmed movie, in a somewhat scary sequence of events,
with Nero doing a great job bringing excitement and presence to the
    screen.

However, for those who aren't fans of these types of nightmarish
stories, they probably should take a pass, especially since over 30
years have passed since this was released to the theatres, and there
    are better films.

4 out of 5 stars And You Though The First Four Were Scary!.......2006-08-17

Giallo fans need only apply. And giallo fans will know what to expect from this one. There's akilla on the loose and he's hinting that there will be five murders. What's the connection with the victims? Like I'm gonna tell you, you'd just better see it. The man hot on the killer's trail is alcoholic reporter Franco Nero! There were about eight billion giallos around at this time, and The Fifth Cord stands above many of them. It's got a great look and a very good performance from Nero. Nero is a very good actor, probably one of the best to come out of Italy, and because of this he gives his character more depth than the average giallo hero. Not much for gore, but this film really doesn't need it. Yet again, Blue Underground has done us all a favor by releasing this film and cleaning it up as good as possible. They also give us a 16 minute interview with both Nero and director, Luigi Bazzoni, who apparently was a really cool guy. Giallo fans should be pleased.

4 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Wedge of Giallo Eye Candy.......2006-04-02

With Franco Nero as the lead and cinematography by the multiple Oscar-winning Vittorio Storaro you'd be a fool not to expect an extremely good looking film. And if you're a fan of murder mysteries--especially the Italian variety known as gialli--then you'll probably eat this one up. The story is pretty thin and it's not gore soaked like many others, but it's really thick with a somber, tense, shadow-filled atmosphere and it's well acted by the jaw droppingly handsome Nero, Rosella Falk and Sylvia Monti. The climax, which begins in a fantastic modern house and ends in an abandoned factory, is for once, well choreographed and exciting. Good score by Ennio Morricone and did I say it's gorgeous to look at? Well, it is.

3 out of 5 stars For fans of the genre........2006-03-02

I haven't seen the Blue Underground disc yet, but I'm sure that the picture and sound quality are miles ahead of my Japanese import. I'll confine my comments to the film itself. On the downside, the story is really nothing special. I identified the killer on sight. But giallo fans are often more concerned with atmosphere - which brings us to the upside. Franco Nero is just fine as usual, but the real stars are Morricone and Storaro. This really is a terrific score. (An excellent CD was available under the Italian title: "Giornata Nera Per L'Ariete.") And there is a strong graphic quality to a lot of the compositions. The stalking scenes are the usual thing - but satisfying for those who enjoy the trappings of Italian thrillers. I like the trailer from this a lot. If you're into these and have reasonable expectations this just might be worth your time. One complaint, though. I wish Blue Underground would go to the trouble of giving us an Italian audio track and English subs more often. No Shame has been very good about this.

I collect nostalgia, ....and this is a prize! What acting...You just can't find good actimg like this these days....those days are gone.Thank goodness for modern tecnology we can still see the likes of Bette Davis, Geraldine Page, (When did she die?)edward G. Robinson, etc. Anyway,my sister and I watch these films and really yearn for the old days. Laurence Harvey was a dreamboat, and I loved his accent. This tape is to be viewed on a rainy afternoon, while enjoying a favorite cup of tea..........Sandee .

5 out of 5 stars Page: Shatteringly brilliant.......2004-02-10

Thank God for the wonders of Ms. Geraldine Page. If it weren't for her, I doubt that the film would have the same effect. A tragedy unfolds and Ms. Page gives us all emotional aspects of the character she portrays. It is hard to believe that she is not Alma (the character she plays) because her sense of reality in the film is so strong. A lesson for all actors -- she has obviously done her homework -- she is concentrated and resonates with that human pain that exists within all of us. I sorely miss her. I remember seeing this film as a child in the theater and young as I was, I knew I was watching someone extraordinary. We would have sorely lost out without her.

    5 out of 5 stars A Summer Viewing Tradition.......2003-06-13

I cannot get through a summer without seeing this fine film. For me,it captures the sad brevity of summer and the classic melancholy of Tennessee Williams. Paige's performance is a treasure; Harvey's equally memorable. Bernstein's score frames the story perfectly. This movie is an underrated masterpiece. Why it has not been released on DVD is, indeed, baffling to me.

5 out of 5 stars Geraldine Page gives the best performance of her career!!!.......2002-07-27

The finest actress ever to live, Geraldine Page recreates her broadway role as the spinster Alma, who lives with her parents to care for her ill mother{Una Merkel, in a brilliant performance]. She has fallen in love with the boy next door, John Buchanan [Laurence Harvey]. When John returns after being away she tries to win his love, but he falls in love with the town vamp [Rita Moreno]. Alma tries to be everything that John wants and in the end they both get swallowed up in each others desires. Geraldine Page was nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars for her performance and should have won. If for nothing else one should see this film to see a real actress at work.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good version thanks to Darin, Margaret, Cox.......2006-01-06

A pretty good version of a rather stodgey old musical. There's no way it can seem fresh, but as a museum piece this version isn't bad thanks to Ann Margaret and Bobby Darin. This was an ideal role for Darin - who likely would have done some broadway musicals thanks to his talents as a singer, dancer, and actor (a classic triple threat) - if his damaged heart hadn't precluded such strenuous roles.

He's at his punky best as the ambitious guy on the make, and delivers the best number of the movie in This Isn't Heaven, a song written especially for the movie. I wish he'd been cast in more musicals to utilize his wide range of talents, but it's great to see him here. Esp in the same movie with Ann Margaret, another triple threat.

3 out of 5 stars Best ever "State Fair" .......2004-10-02

I've only rated this 3 stars as it's VHS not DVD. If available on DVD it would be a definate 5. It's a perfect mix of comedy, romance and drama. How can you not help cheer for "Blue Boy" and laugh at the mince meat judging. This movie is what a lot of movies today are missing - heart. PLEASE bring it out on DVD.

5 out of 5 stars This is the THIRD version of this classic, all a must see!.......2004-06-01

1933 was the first version starring Will Rogers. And while the 1945 version became a classic in its own right, both were staged from the Iowa State Fairs. Then came this 1962 version with the setting of the Texas State Fair including Big Tex as one of its star attractions. While the plots are basically the same, this version taps into race car fans alike and while the Texas State Fair had no race track of its own, the race track that was filmed was from the Oklahoma State Fair's Grandstand Speedway track which still exists as an active race car dirt track. All versions need to be seen during Fair season, you'll appreciate each.

5 out of 5 stars Where is this??.......2004-02-16

Why is this film not available on DVD? I just can't comprehend why it is not on DVD. MUCH better than any other version!

5 out of 5 stars Pat Boone Rules!!Where Are His Other Movies?!!.......2003-08-29

Pat Boone rules in this great musical co-starring Anne Margaret. It's unfortunate though that his other movie musicals etc fron the 1950's and 60's have never been released on video such as Bernardine-1957,Mardi Gras-1958,April Love-1957,All Hands on Deck-1961,The Main Attraction-1962,The Yellow Canary-1963,The Horror of it All-1963,Never Put it in Writing-1964,The Perils of Pauline-1967.So spread the word,it's been very, very long overdue!!Video Distributors both large and small including Fox Home Entertainment should aggressively pursue the release of these wonderful and forgotten gems !!I mean Elvis, as great as he was, shouldn't get all the glory!!
