Our first digital--easy to use & takes good pictures.......2007-06-22

We've had this camera for over a year and enjoy using it.
I am not an expert, and the camera has features we've never used, but we are very satisfied with it. It is so easy to use and takes good pictures. It is also very small and easy to carry. We bought the Canon leather case for this model, which protects it and is no trouble to use. We also bought a 2-gig SD card, and it holds tons of pictures. We have no complaints!

Buy!.......2007-06-15

This camera is awesome. It's like an Ipod, instructions are not needed. Every time I use it I get complements on my camera wishing they had one. Takes great pictures, good battery life, vivid pictures. Video quality is very good. Also it is durable. I would recommend Canon SD450 to anyone.

Served me well........2007-05-03

This camera has served me very well for the past year, my only complaints are a few months after use, there are dead pixels on the LCD viewfinder and there is a huge chunk of dust stuck in the lens, I have no idea how it got there. It doesn't get in the way of pictures for the most part but it is annoying. Although it is easily Photoshopped.

It's nice and sturdy, I even dropped it in a cup of beer once and it lived to tell it's tale. Nice and compact, I keep it in my purse for random cute photographs of my daughter.

I previously owned a Kodak EasyShare and while it was only 4 MP, it took better photos (white balance and vividness). The Canon needs a little tweaking to get the desired look you want.

run down after a year.......2007-04-26

it worked wonderfully for more than a year. there's not much zoom, but it's super compact, so that's what is expected. the quality of photos was great. but then, the pixels started going. the worst part was when the zoom started sticking and now i can only take photos with no zoom or all zoom. and then what used to be a great feature, the photos in view mode would rotate so they filled up the whole page, started sticking, too. so instead of just the photos taken vertically showing up vertically on the lcd, now the horizontally aligned ones did, too. which basically means that most of the photos can only be viewed at half of the physical size of the lcd screen. this is why i should have gotten an extended warranty. live and learn, i guess.

Not for Diving!.......2007-04-24

Do not buy this camera if you want to use it for diving ... the only Canon underwater case made for it is only rated to 10 feet. The better rated cases do not fit.

it works exactly the same as the original battery. Although it is announced as having 50% more power than the original, the average number of shots taken, at least to my use, is the same as the original one that came in my SD450.

Took this with me snorkeling the north shore in Oahu HI. Worked as advertised. It's a little hard to change the camera setting with this on while underwater, but for what it is I would certainly recommend this.

waterproof camera case.......2007-01-05

The case worked well protecting the camera from getting wet whichkept it from being ruined when water got on it while kayaking, but the fir was so close that when taking the camera out of the case and puting it in the closeness caused the function sheel to rotate turning it on or off at unwanted times. Also using the function wheel was very difficult to turn while the camera was in the case. Positioning the camera in the case so that the lens would not hang up instead of projection into the lens area proved difficult. I will use it aqgain because it's less expensive than purchasing a waterproof camera. The pictures were good though.

Works as advertised.......2006-10-02

I purchased one of these to take pictures while snorkeling during my (very) recent trip to the Philippines. The case works exactly as advertised in as much as it kept my camera dry and permited easy access to the function buttons on the back of my Pentax Optio M10 camera.

Unfortunately, because the case is basically a flat envelope enclosing a rectangular shape, the on/off (minor) and the shutter (not so minor) buttons were not so easily accessed making quick picture taking difficult. The lense housing also obscured the periphery of some shots when the camera was not perfectly aligned.

Considering the price and the fit to a wide range of cameras, I would definately recommend this for snorkeling. It's depth rating is actually deeper than some model-specific cases by companies I won't mention here.

Get What You Pay For.......2007-06-29

The tripod: It's light. Works fine as long as you're on fairly level ground. If there's any wind make sure you've got your potato sack and some rocks handy. I've used it quite a bit and the leg extension locks are still tight. We'll see how long that lasts.

The case: It's small. If you've got a Canon EOS with a "kit" lens, you might be able to fit that and another lens in the case. If you've got a lens any larger then you won't. I have a Rebel XT with a Tamron 18-200 zoom/macro lens and I can't fit my 50mm f/1.8 in the case with it. For just carrying around one body and one lens, it's a fine case that protects the camera and lens very well. Plenty of (small) pockets will hold your lens and camera caps, a few memory cards, your charger and batteries and cables. With a lens hood in one side pocket and the camera's manual in the other, that about fills this thing up.

Overall, this is a decent package for the price. You'll probably want to move up pretty quickly though if you're any kind of serious about your photography.

Samsonite Tripod and case.......2007-02-04

The Tripod extends from 1'8" to 4'5" and fits well with Canon PowerShot A610. It is lightweight (appr. 1 lb. 12 oz). The angle of your camera can flip from straight position to 90 degree angle to the left, forward and back, side to side and has a quick release mount.

The case is well padded, approx. 1'W X 5"D X 6.5"H. There's a zippered pocket on each side, a thin front pocket (can accommodate the size of sleeved cd's) and 2 padded dividers on the inside with a meshed zippered pocket on the top. Not big but good enough to hold your little goodies, batteries, USB cables, memory cards etc. and will protect your camera. Durable and reasonable for the price.

I have a Canon SD400 (yes, I know it's old) and this charger works perfectly with it. It's also very simple and easy to use. Can't really go wrong with this product.
