Product Description
At only 3/10" thick, the world's thinnest 1.3 megapixel camera is no bigger than a credit card. This ultra-portable camera utilizes Autobrite technology and a detachable flash module to ensure perfect pictures in all lighting situations. The DS6628 has an ultra-low power imager chip set, optics, and 0.8mm thin, USB-rechargeable, lithium-polymer battery. By using Autobrite technology, the DS6628 automatically adjusts the exposure so that details in both bright and dim areas of a picture are clear - even in difficult scenes such as those with backlighting or glare. The selectable Macro mode provides further versatility for up close photography.Weighing in at a mere 1.4 ounces, the DS6628 packs 16MB of internal flash memory that stores approximately 21 high quality photos at SXGA (1280 x 1024) resolution or 91 fine quality photos VGA (640x480) resolution (for small prints). The camera also contains an SD external memory card slot for additional storage. The self-contained rechargeable lithium polymer battery provides enough power to capture approximately 500 shots and recharges automatically while the DS6628 is connected to a PC or Mac. You will never worry about or need to replace the battery, thereby eliminating the additional cost and inconvenience associated with most digital cameras in its class. An audible tone can be silenced as per user discretion, and a state-of-the-art LCD display informs you of the remaining image count, battery level, and status of various operations.

5 out of 5 stars Okay, let's not get carried over by our emotions........2006-03-18

I have read a lot of reviews on here that basically say this camera's quality is inferior, but I really don't think so. I mean, okay, it is not of the best quality that you get from cameras that cost $400, but hey, you also did not pay $400 for it, okay? So don't complain that it is not clear like the pictures that come out of a $400 camera.

To be completely honest, I am satisfied, if not happy, about the quality of the pictures. They are clear, and it is a delight to be able to just take the camera everywhere and take a picture wherever and whenever I like. I have no problems with the quality of the picture.

All in all, this is a good camera that is not too expensive. I would recommend this to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars I love this camera!.......2006-03-16

My boyfriend got me this camera for Valentine's Day. I thought it was a toy, I mean, it was so small, how could it be a real camera? but I was wrong. it is a real camera, it takes pictures, and the quality is really good too!

I dont know why other people are dissing this camera. I mean, for the size and the price of it, it really isn't that bad.

I carry this camera with me everywhere, because it fits perfect in my purse, and I just love taking random pictures!

1 out of 5 stars Cardboard Submarine.......2006-02-02

Did you ever order a novelty product advertised in the back of a comic book when you were a kid? I waited until I was 43 to order this camera as a Christmas present for my seven-year old child. Friend, it don't float. Nor will it take pictures or connect to the Windows XP on my computer in Japan. OSI's response to my request for technical assistance was a one-line restatement of its 30-day return policy.

The camera itself is not much bigger than a credit card. The shutter release is piece of plastic smaller than my small child's index finger. She showed no surprise when unable to take or upload photos.

I went to a local electronics store and bought a second-hand camera for twice the price when it became clear that OSI was not going to offer even token assistance. It was Christmas in January and I have a package of plastic to recycle.

2 out of 5 stars Terrible picture quality! Where's the screen?.......2005-12-14

For around $60, you can get a much better camera that's at least 2 MP. Add $40 more and you can get a 3 MP with 3.5" TFT 240x320 screen. This is NOT worth the money.

2 out of 5 stars Grainy Images.......2005-10-06

If you're looking for picture quality, this is not the camera to get. I'm sure it will be great for quick pictures on the go, but for anything else it's just bad.
