The Panasonic PV-2590 digital camera is a 1.3-megapixel camera that allows you to capture sharp, crisp images in 1,280 x 960 pixel resolution. With a 3x optical, 2x digital zoom, you can get closer to the action optically using the built-in wide angle and telephoto settings, or digitally magnify the image to twice its normal size. The 1.8-inch color LCD screen lets you see what the image will look like before and after you shoot it and plays back your video clips recorded with the motion image recording feature. An optical viewfinder provides the feel of a traditional point-and-shoot camera. Other features of the Panasonic PV-2590 include automatic focus and exposure as well as a built-in four-mode flash and a self-timer.
The Panasonic PV-2590 provides dual CompactFlash memory slots, enabling you to increase your camera's image capacity and copy the contents of one memory card to the other. The included Compact Modem Card provides a quick and easy means for remotely transferring image data between your camera and a computer or fax machine via a regular telephone line. You also receive a removable 8 MB CompactFlash card, capable of storing approximately 15 images in superfine mode, 30 images in fine mode, and 100 images in normal mode.
Special features of this camera include a Bamp;W image capture function, which creates images in black and white. Motion image recording creates mini video clips by recording 40 successive still images in 0.1-second intervals, just like a movie camera. Burst recording records a maximum of 16 consecutive still images in approximately 0.5-second intervals. The Panasonic PV-2590 also offers a DPOF print mark function, allowing you to sort through a memory card and electronically mark the images that you want to print.
This package includes Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition 3.0 (for Windows 95/98) and 2.0 (for Macintosh), driver software (for Windows 95/98 and Macintosh), four AA alkaline batteries to get you started, video and Windows PC connection cables, a one-year warranty on parts, and a 90-day warranty on labor. Panasonic additionally provides a PalmCam Advantage Program, a toll-free help number, and a free replacement unit overnight if your original unit qualifies for in-warranty repair.
