Your StyleCam Rave camera has been ergonomically designed to allow you to quickly and easily take high quality digital pictures and video without the trouble of buying and developing film. With a 1/3-inch VGA CMOS image sensor you are assured of clear pictures that can be printed, displayed on your Web site, or sent to friends and family through e-mail. The VGA CMOS image sensor is capable of capturing digital still images and streaming snapshots. Through the SiPix Picture Manager, the streaming snapshots will automatically convert into digital video. You can use the StyleCam Rave as a PC camera, taking real-time images when connected to your PC with the supplied USB cable. The included software enables you to easily download your pictures and video to your PC. With ArcSoft PhotoImpression and VideoImpression software you can edit your pictures and video with ease.

Optics and Resolution
Featuring a 1/3-inch VGA CMOS sensor, the Stylecam Rave images up to 640 x 480 pixels. The camera has a fixed-focus lens, with a focal length that starts at 19.7 inches. The camera also has auto exposure and white balance.

Movie Mode
Shoot up to two-and-a-half minutes of AVI video without sound at 160 x 120 pixels, or 80 seconds at 320 x 240. The movies aren't camcorder quality--only a choppy 5 frames-per-second (fps) compared to 30 fps of standard video--but they're fun and convenient, and they're perfect as e-mail attachments. The camera can stream 30 fps at 320 x 240 resolution when connected to a PC, however.

Storage, Transfer, and Power
Images and video are stored on 8 MB built-in flash memory. The camera has room for up to 400 JPEG images at 320 x 240 resolution or 100 at 640 x 480. Files can be downloaded to either a PC via USB connectivity, which means it can be connected to any USB-based Windows 98/98SE/2000/ME/XP computer. The camera is powered by one AAA battery, or by USB bus power when connected to a computer.

SiPix StyleCam Rave! For the money, it's extremely good........2003-12-09

I went out and bought this camera today [...] I thought it was going to be a peice of junk but in all honesty if you take pictures in decent lighting they aren't horrible. They're grainy in some cases but in others they're fine. Decent lighting helps tons, as it does in all photography. It also doubles as a webcam and can take some video too. I haven't done any video but it works fine as a webcam. With all the uses and the decent quality photos, I'd recommend this. I've only taken indoor photos so far but I plan to try some outdoor ones tomorrow. I'd have to say this is WAY better than the JamCam. Many uses, etc. For the money, its great.

Bad Camera, Bad Customer Service .......2004-08-10

This cam does not work with Win XP even though they say it does. I tried installing it on 2 computers. I couldn't get it to work on either one. I went to the website and tried all the patches and downloads. Nothing worked. I contacted customer support and they told me the same thing as the website. When I told them I tried that already they never emailed me back.
Don't waste your money.

Bad News Waste of Money.......2004-07-26

I got this camera. Just spent a couple of hours trying to install it. It wants to reinstall itself on every reboot. Camwizard doesn't work properly. Bad bad news. Don't buy it. No good. Bad. Bad. Bad. Went to webpage, followed instructions, downloaded patch. No luck. Bad news. Waste of time. Avoid it like the plague.

Not blurry.......2004-01-19

This cam has a fixed focal point which means you must be at that distance from your subject or the subject will be blurred. Holding the camera still will also affect the stability of the picture.
