5.8 GHz Phone with Digital Answering Machine / Talking Caller ID / Includes Two Handsets; Expandable to Four / Slow Talk / Speakerphone
Customer Reviews:
Great phone!.......2007-06-28
Pros: Clear sound, batteries hold up well, 50-number phone book per handset (easy to transfer entries from one to another), several ring-tone options, flashing lights to alert you if it's ringing or if there's a message (which you can turn off to save batteries), can access messages from either handset or base unit, intercom, call transfer (you can put an incoming call on hold and make another handset ring), easy to use, inexpensive, decent range.
Cons: Less message space than some models, individual messages limited to 3 min (less if you choose) (but this is common on many digital answering machines). I wouldn't want to wall-mount it where people could bump into it; it would stick out farther than it ought to. (Over a desk or counter or something might be OK.)
I haven't tested its caller ID, talking caller ID, or call waiting options, because I don't have those services from the phone company.
It has a decent default outgoing message for the answering machine, and if the machine runs out of space, it will give a different outgoing message. If you record your own outgoing message, it won't alert callers if there's no space left to leave a message. It would be nice to use a custom greeting but still alert callers if there's no space.
I have the base on a high shelf, and was pleased to find I could use the wall-mount attachment to angle the phone, because if it lies flat on the shelf I can't see the message indicator light from across the room. (Message indicators on handsets only light up when the handset is not on the base/charger.)
Wish I'd bought more handsets, but I'm going to fix that.Panasonic KX-TGA600B 5.8 GHz Cordless Telephone Additional Handset Individual handsets are kind of expensive; I could've saved about $20 by getting three to start with, although it looks like Amazon only carries the three-handset model in silver: Panasonic KX-TG6053S 5.8 GHz Cordless Telephone w/Digital Answering Machine and 3 Handsets
Good Product.......2007-06-27
We have been using Panasonic for ages now! This new phone is good in many ways and some improvements can be made in the functions for example- The base does not show how many messages are stored. It only flashes when it has message/s. Very compact and the talking feature helps a lot. Overall a decent product.
Mostly Satisfied.......2007-06-27
Phone and most features work great, but the playback/listening volume on the base unit is too low. Unless the calling party speaks firmly, listening to messages can be challenging. Also the speaker phone only funtions when the handset is removed from the base unit which I find an inconvenience.
Very good phone.......2007-06-27
This is an excellent product. I gave it 4 stars, rather than 5, because it lacks an essential feature, i.e., a lighted keypad. Trying to answer it or dial an outgoing call in low light is very difficult. A lighted keypad would make this the perfect phone!
Panasonic KX-TG6052B 5.8 GHz Cordless .......2007-06-27
I've had this phone for a few months, and so far, so good. The sound quality/clarity is pretty good and the hands free option works well for the most part, though some of my friends complain they can't hear me well when using it, but that's most often when they are also using hands free.
It seems to hold a charge for a good amount of time and of course you always have the second handset as a backup, which is great.
I must say the novelty of the talking caller ID hasn't worn on me yet. I get a chuckle at the pronunciation of some of the names and I like not having to get up to look at who's calling.
I don't like how numbers show up as 1-area code-phone number (I could do without the "1" because if I review that call in my 'missed calls' and hit 'talk' to call back, it of course inserts the '1' and on a local call, it won't go through with that '1' inserted. I also wish the keypad was lit, that would make for much easier use in the dark.
Overall though, it's a good choice and I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase.

Product Description
The DMC-FZ8 features the 12x Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens that packs the same zoom power as a big, clunky 400 mm-class film camera lens. This 12x optical zoom lens is super-bright at f/2.8 to f/3.3 with a focal length of 6 to 72 mm. Rotate the lever a small amount for slow zooming, and a larger amount for high-speed zooming. This makes it easy to zoom in and out quickly when you need to or to slow down for finer zooming control. Zoom Resume stores your zoom position (magnification) in memory, so you can shoot with the same zoom setting once the power is turned on again. This helps make sure you don't miss those great shooting opportunities. The CCDs used in most digital cameras have much smaller light-receiving areas than film does, so photos tend to have a high depth of field. You can snap photos that capture the subject in a clear, sharp focus while giving the background a beautiful soft focus. 0.44-inch Viewfinder Color EVF (188 K Pixels), 100% Field of View Image Sensor - 1/2.5-inch AF Assist Lamp ISO Sensitivity - Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1250 (High Sensitivity Mode - 3200)Dial - P (Program), A (Aperture Priority), S (Shutter Priority), M (Manual) Mode, Simple and SCN Scene Mode - Portrait, Soft Skin, Scenery, Sports, Panning, Night Portrait, Night Scenery, Food, Party, Candle, Baby1, Baby2, Pet, Sunset, High Sensitivity, Starry Sky, Fireworks, Beach, Snow and Aerial Photo Shutter Speed Program AE - 1 - 1/2,000 seconds Aperture Priority AE / Shutter Priority AE - 8 - 1/2,000 seconds Manual - 60 - 1/2,000 seconds Built-in-Flash - Auto, Auto Red-eye Reduction, Forced On, Forced On Red-eye Reduction, Slow Sync Red-eye Reduction and Forced Off Dimensions - Width 4.43 x Height 2.84 x Depth 3.11 inch (112.5 x 72.2 x 79.0 mm) Weight - 357 grams with Battery and SD Memory Card (0.78 pounds)
Customer Reviews:
I like it!.......2007-06-28
I bought this camera about a month ago and have been using it in my digital photography class. It had all the options I needed to be able to learn all I needed to know about manually adjusting your ISO,f stops, shutter speeds, and all that good stuff. It allows you to become an artist in the process and not just a button pusher, so it's better than a basic point and shoot. Also, it has RAW format which conserves more of the data for later use in Photoshop editing. It takes spectacular pictures in most settings and is a very good looking piece of equipment.
Now, about the issue of VenusIII noise it does make me uncomfortable after 400 ISO but if you have a tripod or are a steady shot you should be able to pull of most shots, and can get by with the flash and a tripod at night or in low light. But, it is very good for a point and shoot. Some others may be better in low light but this one can take very good pictures for most of your shots and the Leica lens is super. Another gripe is that it does not have the field of view that I would have liked, which others have if you shop around. Over all I think it is a solid camera and if I could do it again I would have a hard time replacing it for the price.
And no, in my experience with other peoples' cameras, it does not compare to a DSLR as many have said these advanced point and shoots can. If you are a really serious amateur and can afford an SLR get one. If you are unsure about your seriousness or want a comparable camera, in most situations, get this one. But, if the shot is in a difficult environment with low light you want an SLR.
If I could do it all over again I'd save the money for an SLR. If you need one immediately for a class or just to learn there are cheaper cameras to learn on by Canon that have all the quality and features that you need to learn. If you are not serious and want to take pictures at BBQ's buy a simple point and shoot. If you just want one all around camera that you want to use for a while and take high quality photos, but not seriously, get this one it is pretty good for the price and will be hard to beat.
Undersaturated - ended up with Fuji S6000fd instead.......2007-06-24
I purchased both the Fuji S6000fd and Panasonic FZ8 to compare them head to head. I was left very underwhelmed by the Panasonic's undersaturated pictures; they lacked any punch to them. I shot using "P" mode and IS mode 2. I must admit though -- the optical image stabilizer on this camera is absolutely amazing. It is FAR superior than the competition, especially when shooting at full telephoto.
Other than my being unhappy with the pictures, it was a very nice camera.
Pros:
- Long battery life w/ included rechargable li-ion battery
- Long 12x zoom
- Extremely effective image stabilizer
- Lightweight
I was able to tweak pictures in Photoshop by boosting saturation but I have no desire to do that for each and every picture. My S6000fd turns out great pictures as is, or more saturated pictures in F-chrome mode when I need it. I'm much happier with the Fuji since I don't do much full telephoto work.
LOVE IT!!!!.......2007-06-21
We bought this camera to take to Africa on our vacation. We LOVED this camera. It did a great job and really took great photos. We went to see the Gorillas and they took WONDERFUL pictures. Nice and clear and the zoom was excellent. Wish I would have bought this camera years ago. I like this one better than our Nikon. Awesome, awesome camera
great camera, very pleased.......2007-06-17
I'm very pleased with this camera :)
pros
it's very light and small, but well built
the lecia lens is awsome and the 12x zoom is perfect
video quailty is good
macro setting is great
auto focus is great
all the settings and options work well
easy to understand and use menu
quick start up
image quality is generally superb
flash works great
nearly perfect veiwfinder
LCD is crisp and clear
affordable
cons
not so great photos at ISO 200+
the flash is set to forced off (all you have to do is pop it up and change it to forced on, no biggie)
action shots? still figuring out how to take them well with this camera
I've had it for about a week and so far Im loving it more and more
I havent had any problems and it's a great upgrade from my standard 4mp kodak
I'm still learning how otu se all the settings and all the tricks, the manual is very helpful
I highly reccomend this if you're not quite ready for an SLR, but want more options than a standard point and shoot
AAA+.......2007-06-15
This camera is GREAT.........I needed to go to the next level with a digital...........this was an excellant buy !!

Customer Reviews:
the 6G of Portable DVD Players - Panasonic does it again.......2007-06-27
Bottom line up front: This DVD player is ideal - it is light, great battery life, evolved smart design, and looks great. It has a faux black leatherlike coating on the screen backing and the black matte finish to the player which looks cool and doesn't distract from the movie. The hinge that rotates the player from tablet-like flat to most any angle is strong and well hinged - looks like it would survive a fall. The picture is perfect without any adjustments; however, there is a button that adjusts for daylight and moonlight viewing as well as a a button to adjust brightness and color manually. The main menu allows several video adjustments (I used full digital noise reduction and full depth enhancer). Also, I enable bass boost, dialogue enhancer and sound enhancer and use Headphones Enhanced from the speaker/headphone menu. The buttons at the bottom of the player are easy to use and clearly marked for playback and the center button to the right of the dvd door allows up down and side to side menu navigation. I like a small button just above play that lets you advance the movie frame by frame with each push of the button and then hit play to resume. The picture is tight and not pixelated to my eyes. The colors are very warm, I prefer to tone them back a few notches. I noticed that this model seems to have better viewing angles. Before when watching say in the kitchen on the older DVD-LX97 I noticed that the angle had to be just right or I couldn't see the picture - not an issue anymore - great! It supports DIVX, which I plan to use extensively. I don't care about some new bells and whistles such as usb flash drive support or memory card readers - those aren't the purpose - playing DVDs right away is and this does the trick. No remote is not an issue with me, never use them for portable devices anyway. My wife really likes these Panasonic players, this is our second one, your family will too. Mine gets used every night on my bedstand to watch movies as I fall asleep so I don't have to fall asleep to Roseanne reruns on nick at night. A gadget guys best friend.
Great.......2007-06-27
It's good. Good part is we can play both PAL & NTSC DVDs and can be connected to any TV as I have taken it to India with few DVDs for in flight entertainment for my kids with 2 headphone jacks but they could also see the local movies in PAL format. It was very handy, can be connected to any TV to watch it in bigger screen if needed where we don't have other DVD player available.
The Best.......2007-06-14
My order arrived 7 days earlier than expected, that's a good sign. This DVD player is awesome, light weight, clear picture and the option I always wanted to test is playing Divx format. If you think Philips got a good name in Divx, try this one out. I played the same Dvix movie on both, this player runs so smooth that I can't even tell the laser is scanning the disc.
I haven't got to the point calling their technical support, so I can't give comment on that, but I'm sure reading one of these reviews you will encounter experiences with Philips customer reps.
Besides, don't buy the 10" Logic case for this player, it won't fit nicely.
Big things come in small packages........2007-05-22
This little DVD does the work of a big TV. And it is very compact with a screen that can be positioned. Great for travel, great for home.

Put a Handset in Every Room
With two handsets (one base and one charger) included and the option of adding up to two additional handsets--all while using only one base and one phone jack--go ahead and put one in the den, the kitchen, the master bedroom and the living room so you won't have to make a run for it when the phone rings.
Turn the Ringer Off...
Don't miss important calls when the ringer is off. The Light-Up Indicator at the base of the antenna will flash quickly to show that you have an incoming call, and it will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message in your voice mailbox
1. You can also choose up to three different light-up indicator colors to link to your pre-programmed phonebook data. Light-Up ID
1 requires corresponding Caller ID information to be received from an incoming call.
...Or Keep the Ringer On
With Ringer ID
1, you can choose from a downloaded or selectable ringer to link to your pre-programmed phonebook data, which also requires corresponding Caller ID information to be received from an incoming call.
Voices Come Through Loud and Clear
By simulating a band signal above and below the normal bandwidth limitations, Voice Enhancer Technology helps clarify and improve sound reception creating a natural-sounding voice that is easy to hear and understand.
Let the Kids Join the Conversation
With a Digital Duplex Speakerphone on the back of each handset, you can enjoy convenient, high-quality, hands-free conversations from any room in the house. So let the kids join in on the conversation with Grandma and Grandpa, or paint your nails while you chat with your best friend.
See Who's Calling, Even If You're Already on the Phone
We've all become accustomed to Caller ID and its ability to let us see who's calling before we answer the phone. But what happens when you're already on the phone and another call comes in on Call Waiting? Until now, you wouldn't know who was beeping in unless you answered it. With Call Waiting Caller ID
1, you get the best of both worlds. So now when you get a beep, you can see who's calling before you answer
but we'll leave that decision up to you!

Nice phone.......2007-06-27
Good features, big display. Mutlip ring tones. Can transfer address books to other phones like it.
Major Problem.......2007-06-25
Even with freshly charged batteries, all of the handsets drop my calls without warning after about 30 minutes of conversation. Sometimes, the person I am talking to will tell me I am "breaking up" shortly before the call gets dropped. This problem occurs regularly, regarless of whether I am sitting immediately next to the base or not. I have been unable to resolve this problem on the phone with Panasonic service, so now I have to send them all in for repair. A major bummer!

Panasonic KX-TG6022B Cordless phone is great........2007-06-14

Using text-to-speech technology, the caller's name is announced between rings if name/number Caller ID information is available. With SlowTalk message playback, you'll never miss important information again. You can slow down the playback speed of recorded messages by 30 percent at the touch of a button. And with this system's all-digital answering system, those messages will already be crystal clear and easy to retrieve, with up to 18 minutes of recording time.By simulating a band signal above and below the normal bandwidth limitations, Voice Enhancer Technology helps clarify and improve sound reception creating a natural-sounding voice that is easy to hear and understand.

panasonic wireless telephone review.......2007-06-11
This phone is a good product. It response as advertized. The only negative is that it cut off at first when the batteries were charged but stopped after a few days.
Good 4.5 star phone.......2007-06-10
My previous phone was also a Panasonic, a 2.4GHz model whose speakerphone feature had gotten to where it was pretty much unusable. Note that I use the phone company's voice mail instead of this phone's message system, so I can't comment on any aspect of that feature.
What I like:
- This phone doesn't interfere with my Wi-Fi signal.
- The handset speakerphone feature works really well. Volume is plenty loud and everyone I've asked has said it's very clear, some even being surprised to learn I'm using a speakerphone.
- General interface design is pretty good, which makes it easier to use all those fancy features than products that make you wonder if the person who designed them ever actually used them. ;-)
- Something I've wanted for a long time in a phone: five-number redial history (ten would be better ;-).
- Smaller and lighter than other phones I've used, and no external antenna. Not too small, just more convenient to carry in my pocket when I'm outside.
- Back of handset is flat opposite the keys, so you can use the keypad when it's lying flat, but the speaker is higher up where a curve in the handset puts it off the surface. Nice thinking on their part.
- Handsets have an LED that blinks for an incoming call, glows yellow when charging, and green when handset is fully charged.
- My old Panasonic's power adapter used about 4 watts according to my P3 International Kill-a-Watt Electricity Usage Monitor and was hot to the touch (about 130 degrees), so I was concerned this system would use 16 watts or so to run all of the power adapters. Turns out that all of them combined only use about one watt total, which saves me about $0.25/month on my electric bill over my old single-handset phone. Nice. (Every little bit helps. ;-)
- The Talking Caller ID is nice. It's not perfect, but it's nice if it's taking me a while to get to the phone. Lets me know if I should hurry or not. Of course, with four handsets I never have very far to go anymore. ;-)
- Did I mention there are four handsets? Sooo much more convenient that one.
What I wish were different (why I'd dock it half a star):
- I wish there were lighted keys on the handset keypads. Dialing in low light conditions tends to be a bit challenging.
- In what seems to be a downside of those really energy efficient chargers, these are not rapid-charge systems. If you run a battery down (easier to do on long calls using the speakerphone mode) it will take several hours to recharge fully. This is just a minor quibble, though, as you can always switch to a different handset during a call and you get four of the darned things, and it's a reasonable tradeoff to get the power consumption down to such low levels. I use the speakerphone mode almost exclusively, and it hasn't ever caused a problem, I just noticed that it takes a long time to do a full recharge.
- There's no "master" phonebook. You can add one handset's phonebook to another handset, but you have to do that three times to get it on all handsets and if you add a number to one it doesn't appear on the others. However, I like having separate phonebooks, as I keep business phone numbers on only one handset to speed access to personal numbers on the other handsets.
These are all minor quibbles, though, and overall I'm very happy with this item. Don't know why Amazon doesn't seem to stock it, though. I wonder if it sells out fast. As I write this the description says it ships in one to two months. I had to wait a good while for mine as well.
Four for the Price of One.......2007-06-08
I'm pleased with this phone system that includes, in addition to the base station/answering machine, three separate handsets. It works well, doesn't interfere with my wireless Internet system, and the capability of transfering memorized phone messages from one handset to another is useful.
phones.......2007-05-25
Phones work well, good weight/size fit in hand. Delivery was not convenient, company refused to honor my request to leave item on my front porch, as other companies do,even Dell computers honors that request! I would not order from Beach Audio again for this reason.
Phone is Dead on Arrival.......2007-05-25
Was very much looking forward to this phone. Unfortunately, the phone did not work on arrival despite multiple troubleshooting attempts. Basically the phone base station was non-functional. Panasonic customer service was absolutely terrible. They could offer no solutions and the only option is to pack up this phone that is less than 12 hours old, send it to Texas at my expense and hope they send me a "refurbished" unit in the next two weeks. They were completely unwilling to send me a new phone. Bottom line- phone looks great, but mine didn't work at all.

Many features for a basic phone.......2007-06-27
I have been fully satisfied with this phone, which replaced one blown out by a lightning strike. I was pleasantly surprised to discover it has a speaker-phone option. Charges quickly, battery holds charge longer than old phone. Easy to use and comfortable handset. Excellent value for the price.
Exactly what I wanted.......2007-06-15
I'm not a big "features" guy so this phone was perfect. It's very simple and gives clear reception from almost any distance.
I would highly recommend it.
REALLY GOOD.......2007-06-08
So far this little phone has been really great!
Panasonic KX-TG6021M 5.8 GHz Cordless Telephone.......2007-06-08
I should have bought this phone first instead of just looking for a cheap phone. Very good quality and has many nice features. The one thing I wish they would add is a belt clip option, they have a slot for a lanyard but no lanyard is included. Other than that this has been the perfect selection for me I would easily recommend.
Very good performance for a budget price.......2007-05-30
We've had Panasonic cordless phones over the years and this one is the best of all. Exceptional battery life on a 7 hour charge. Exceptional voice clarity. Easy to use 4 way selector control and software menus. This system can also be expanded, as we plan to do, as our other aging phones make their last call. Overall, an excellent choice for a basic cordless phone with caller ID.

Customer Reviews:
No problems to report.......2007-06-26
I have been using this system now in a manufacturing shop environment. Exposed to electrical high frequency from Plama cutters and welding equipment, dirt and dust, they have held up real well. The range is slightly better than the Vtech phones I replaced, but much clearer signal. The controls are a bit odd to deal with. The "line" buttons are recessed into the face and can be a bit tough to punch. Speaker volumes are only accesable through the menu instead of a volume button on the side or face.
Panasonic 2 line 5.8 GHz phone.......2007-06-14
I purchased this phone and used it for 2 weeks, finally returning it as there were too many missing features.
Pro: Good voice quality, ability to share one or all directory entries among headsets. Worked well with normal POTs line and VOIP line.
Con: Callerid doesn't display number if name is unknown, and would often not display anything even when other phone showed name and number. Since I screen my calls, this was unacceptable. Call log only stores unanswered calls. Had trouble reading display when awakened by phone ringing (before my eyes had a chance to adjust).
Best cordless we've found.......2007-06-11
This is the 4th cordless system we've tried in recent months. All of the others had to be returned for various reasons including huge amount of static when only one room away from base; instrument didn't stand which made it difficult to use speakerphone; it was necessary to scroll entire address book to find a number; etc. This Panasonic model has clear reception from the other end of the house and even outside; the speakerphone is easy to use since the instrument stands up; and phone numbers in the address book can be easily accessed by inserting the first letter of the person's name. The address book and the answering machine were easy to program, the Amazon price was very reasonable, and we are very pleased with the new phone system.
Good handset but poor headset jacks.......2007-06-10
While this phone has lots of good features -- especially clear reception for a pretty good distance using the handset's regular speaking method -- the jacks for a headset give tinny, soft sound, especially to the person you're calling.
If you don't need to use a headset with your phone, don't worry about it (sound quality is good when not using a headset), but I talk on the phone all day for work, and need decent sound quality through a headset. Two good-quality headsets which have worked on other phones on both of these Panasonic units made me sound quiet and far away.
The range was much better than the 2ghz phone I had before.
The interface for saving numbers to dial is a little clumsy, requiring several buttons to get to the saved list, which I found annoying.
FOR US, IT'S THE BEST CURRENTLY AVAILABLE.......2007-06-08
We now have 3 of these 2-line systems. My sweetheart [wife] walks all over the house with a portable handset, but I greatly prefer a hard-wire connection - in spite of the many top brands of cordless phones that we have owned over the years. I also keep a charged portable unit attached to my electric wheelchair so that I am able to check the caller ID when the phone rings and I can't get to one of the hardwire lines to answer before one of our answering machines (we use 2 different answering machines that we like for each line, but do have NEVER NEEDED the 3 answering machines included in each of these 3 systems - so we cannot rate the answering machine part of this system). We're quite pleased. No notable complaint.

Excellent follow on model.......2007-03-29
We used a previous version of this system for years. This much improved system handles even the tiny wishes we had from the old system. Music on hold, speaker phones, great range, etc. I actually bought multiple systems and tried them in my offices. I returned them all except the Panasonic.
panasonic cordless phone.......2007-03-10
Big disappointment. Unlike previous Panasonic phones that have always been 'slightly ahead of their time' this phone is difficult to use and there are too many steps involved to make or take a simple phone call. It's designed as badly as MS software. One of the annoying features is you have to hold the button down for almost 3 seconds to take a call on hold - it's a mess. Stay away.
Cell phone ease and portability for a land phone.......2007-01-18
Sound is great. Ease of use is wonderful. The guys in our shop have not complained once and we have had the phones for over a month!
features don't work and Panasonic is aware.......2006-12-30
I have the 2.4 ghz 4000 version and I love it, but it does buzz sometimes because of my home wireless network, so I thought I'd try the 5.8ghz. What a surprise to find it isn't as good. Yes it has some nice features that do work, but over all, it way over priced and flawed. 1. it's really hard to get a call off hold once you place them on hold. I never did figure out how to do that. 2. it's really difficult to call in to get your messages, knowing what to push, waiting to be told and you better have a lot of patience if you push a wrong button. 3. it's supposed to page you when a caller leaves a message. My 4000 pages me with the caller id of the person who left the messages, from the main unit. The hand sets page me with the number of the handset so I know which one the message is on. The new 4500 pages you with a blank page. You don't even have a way of knowing for sure that it was your phone system that did page you. It dials your pager, then nothing, so I get paged with a blank page, as if someone called my pager and didn't leave a message, or my cell phone with number held. 4. the pause key doesn't work in the paging portion of the phone, so you can enter a number and a pause to wait before continuing to enter numbers. 5. The worst part of the phone system is Panasonic, I'm sorry to say. I buy a lot of Panasonic products, but I won't be so much in a hurry to buy this name brand. They do not answer emails, I spent hours on the phone only to have the "techs" read to me from the manual that I have... they don't know the phone. No one bothers to ask or look into anything and after they read to you from the manual, they hang up on you, so you have to start over. I took it back and I went back to using my 4000, which is many years old (5 or 6). When I finally did get responses from Panasonic, via email, I was told that "that feature doesn't work, that feature doesn't work, that feature doesn't work" and "if that feature doesn't work, return for replacement". I had to go back to my email to see the order in which the questions were being answered; very impersonal.

Panasonic Does It Again.......2007-06-27
I've been using this phone for over a month now. I'm pleased with it's performance and am enjoying most of the features. The talking caller ID is very entertaining. It really could use a bit of fine tuning as it has difficulty pronouncing some of the simplest names...yet interestingly enough some of the more challenging ones it hits spot on. Love the intercom feature, address book and all the other little goodies it comes with. (I'm still learning some)
I had a 2.4 ghz Panasonic and loved it...but I couldn't find a replacement cordless unit for the thing that wouldn't cost morethan half of what I paid for this.
The only thing that would have made me happier s if I had purchased it from someone other than Amazon. Marketing ploys stink. Other than that...I'd go for it if I were you.
Great phone.......2007-06-26
My new phone works great.I do not have any complaints. I love all the features including the caller ID that says the persons name when they call. I would recommend this phone.
Great System!!.......2007-05-25
I needed a new phone system (old one died)and did a lot of checking around.I wanted to get something that was easy to use, wouldn't break down in three Months and had good sound.
I also needed three phones unlike my old system only two phones.(guess we we all need three or more these days)
I have found that this system gives ALL that I was looking for and more. Also at a great price!I think you can also add up to five phones.
Would for sure look into this phone system.
Works very well for a moderately deaf person.......2007-05-25
My husband is moderately deaf (wears strong hearing aids in both ears) so it is a challenge to find a telephone that he is comfortable with. He says that he hears very well with these without being "blasted out."
Lots of Features at a Value Price for 3 Phones!.......2007-05-19
This is a great phone bundle that is very reasonably priced for a base station and 3 handsets with chargers.
This phone has most features you would expect on a 5.6GHz system--digital answering machine, Caller ID, phonebook with up to 50 numbers, etc. But it has a few features that most cordless systems do not--Talking Caller ID, backlit white display on screen and Voice Enhancer technology for clearer reception.
But like all cordless systems, it does have some drawbacks. I wish the handset keys were backlit so you could dial in a darkened room. There is no way to name each handset such as "Kitchen" or "Living Room." Instead each handset has a number from 1-3. Another drawback is that the answering machine does not display the current number of messages. Instead it just glows red when a new message comes in.
The other major drawback is that many of the settings are hidden from the standard "Menu" key. Instead you have to hit the "Menu" button and input a 2 or 3 digit numeric code. Simple functions such as tone on/off or ringer select can only be found this way. The only way to find the numbers that control functions is by going through the manual.
There is no "perfect" cordless phone out there. But for the variety of features and reasonable cost, the KX-TG6053S is hard to beat.

oh no, this will not work for me.......2007-06-20
I am on the phone a lot. I was afraid of buying a Panasonic due to my perceptions about mass production, low cost quality.
I was right to be afraid. I can not keep the phone. People can't hear me well on speaker nor on the handset. I have to struggle to hear them. The phone is very light and plastic. Music on hold is nice however. The rest is going back to amazon.
Great system for small businesses.......2007-05-30
To the best of my knowledge, this is the second generation of these Panasonic Cordless phones. I have used both. The improvements made from the first generation are dramatic. I can even play background music when my customers are on hold and, so far, the quality of this system is dramatically improved from the previous generation.
It does have some limitations:
(1) you can only have up to 8 handsets with this system. If you plan to grow beyond that in less than a year or two, it is probably not worth the investment. Spend the money on a professional business phone system. If, like me, you can live with only 8 extensions for the next year or two, this system is money well spent, and will keep you from the large outlay of cash that a pro system will cost you.
(2) Being cordless is really sweet unless you have employees who tend to leave their phones laying around, or as is the case with me, you have a secretary that "steals" your phone when she leaves hers at her desk, and then walks away with it - well you know what I mean.
(3) The system is limited to 4 phone lines. If you need more lines, this is not the system for you.
If you can live with these limitations, you will be very happy with this system.
Panasonic 4 line phone.......2007-05-14
Just received the phone. Delivery was as expected. The phone does seem to accomplish what we wanted to do which was have the ability for my assistant to transfer a call after she answers the phone to voice mailbox for me. There are a lot of other usful features so far we are very pleased with the phone system.
OK System.......2007-04-21
This system has it good and bad points- I returned it because even on high volume my customers could not hear me very well :(.
As for buttons /features good. Good desk phone. For the price expected a better quality though.
Volume very low.......2007-03-30
I bought this whole system because I always like Panasonic cordless phones. But this system is definitely below par in term of quality. Phone volume, even at the max, was difficult for callers to hear. If you have the phone on speaker mode and stay any distance away from the handset, the other person can barely hear you. Very frustrating, as I paid a lot for this. Otherwise, not bad in term of functionalities.
