The E-System is the only DSLR system equipped with dust-free technology so dust and other micro particles are prevented from settling on the imager and ruining your pictures. The E1 uses a unique Parallel processing system around a new 3 ASIC digital engine; to ensure you reach the speed and level of reliability in a camera that digital photography demands. Each ASIC controls its own camera function: one dedicated to Image Processing; one solely to Interface Processing; and one to Camera Control. The body is made of magnesium alloy metal, making the E-1 an extremely durable digital SLR that was born for day-in and day-out use, and one so comfortable and lightweight you'll want to take it on every photographic journey.
