Lexar Media CompactFlash cards facilitate connection to desktop and notebook PCs using an integrated on-board USB interface. This unique solution offers easy connection to the USB port of a personal computer through an inexpensive cable offered by Lexar Media.Lexar Media's JumpShot integrates a complete USB peripheral interface into the onboard controller providing dual functionality to the card. When attached to a camera, MP3 player or any other CompactFlash enabled device, Lexar Media CF+ cards operate as a CF+ compatible device. Lexar Media performs extensive testing to assure full compatibility with CF enabled hosts. Attaching Lexar Media CF+ cards to the JumpShot cable activates the USB interface on the card, allowing personal computers to recognize the CF+ cards as an additional hard drive. All Windows functions for a hard drive such as cut, copy and paste are available for the card. While the CFA certification provides a base-level assurance of compatibility between CF cards and slots, many digital cameras implement the standard differently which may cause incompatibilities with general-purpose CompactFlash. In addition, CFA certification does not cover SmartMedia. Digital Film Compliance provides a guarantee that CF cards are compatible with cameras that use that memory solution. Every Digital Film Compliant CompactFlash or SmartMedia card has been thoroughly tested on virtually all digital cameras that use that form of memory.
