I used SimpleTech 128 MB SmartMedia Card few times I have no problem with their performace. I did not use the cards for years to check if they keep up with the time but I am assuming (without evidence) they might have a shorter life span. My assumption is based that the other card brand boost about their 5 years warranties and in the case PNY Technologies cards, it is a "LIFETIME WARRANTY". You have to assume that the other manufacturers do not expect their cards to fail with time. I did not see much warranty on Simple Tech cards, Therefore I am rating SimpleTech as Four Star

Poor Reliability.......2006-12-17

I bought this card as an alternative to the expensive name brand cards. However, after a couple of uses the card would intermittently lose it's formatting and would have to be reformated so my camera or computer would recognize it. Of course, when reformatting, all of the pictures that were stored on the card were lost.
