The Lexmark Z715 Color Jetprinter offers fast document printing for everyday use, plus optional six-color photo printing for achieving professional-quality borderless photo prints. With print speeds of up to 17 ppm in black-and-white and 10 ppm in color (both in draft mode), the Z715 is also able to produce 4-by-6-inch photo prints in approximately 60 seconds. Resolutions up to 2,400 x 1,200 dpi are achieved on most normal media types, while optimized 4,800 x 1,200 dpi can be achieved on photo paper with optimal input.

The Z715 features a unique automatic cartridge alignment system plus automatic paper-type sensing to reduce delays, while Lexmark's Accu-Feed paper handling system virtually eliminates paper jams by providing a smooth paper path.

The Z715 offers fast USB 2.0 connectivity as well as compatibility for both Mac and PC users. It provides convenient onscreen ink-level monitoring, has a generous 3,000-page per month duty cycle, and comes backed by a one-year warranty.

Picked this up for my daughter, for college. It was very easy to install and set up. Most low cost printers are designed to use a lot of ink, if you're not familiar with computers. It's just a fact of life. How do you think they sell them so cheap? You need to print at lower quality settings.

Lexmark Junk.......2006-06-10

Lexmark used to be a good company but I guess they have sold out like others. This printer WASTES a lot more ink than it should. Their cartridges only come half full (same with HP) unless you buy the 'better' ones. This printer is also incredibly slow. The only good thing I can say about it is it seems to last a long time.

three and a half stars..........2005-10-24

There's nothing fancy about this machine, really, and you wouldn't want to print massive batch jobs on it, but it does what it's supposed to do. I haven't had any smudging difficulties (maybe try aligning the cartridges or using the "clean" feature?), and the installation is about the same as the Epson I did for my brother recently. If I were buying a printer, I might aim a bit higher than this, but as a free throw-in, which mine was, it's perfectly acceptible.

This "printer" was part of a package I purchased. I had to buy it to qualify for multiple rebates on a computer, which has worked out great. However, unless you need to buy it as a rebate qualifier don't bother buying the Lexmark Z715. It's amazing to me that people actually pay around $80 for this thing. It feels like it came out of a Cracker Jack box, the print smudges and it is irritating to set up. What else can I say? Too bad their was not a zero star option. Congratulations! to the people at Lexmark for creating the worst inkjet printer ever.
