The Lexmark Z65 is targeted to small office/home office (SOHO) users and high-end consumers. Its dual paper trays make it simple to print on a variety of media, such as glossy photo paper and transparencies. Lexmark's PrecisionSense technology automatically determines the type of stock in the front paper tray and adjusts the printer driver to optimize output. In addition, the Lexmark Z65 boasts print speeds of up to 15 pages per minute (ppm) in color, and up to 21 ppm in black and white. The Lexmark Z65 touts 4800 dpi resolution and features a three-picoliter microfine color drop size, allowing for better color transitions and more detailed textures that will please, among others, photography enthusiasts.

The Lexmark Z65 is a high-performance color inkjet printer at an affordable price. The printer is a sturdy beast, weighing just shy of 11 pounds and measuring 17.5 by 12 by 8.5 inches (with paper support and exit tray retracted).

The printer is easy to set up and install and comes with a clear and detailed manual that guides you through the process. It connects to the USB port, though there is no USB cable supplied in the box. Two ink cartridges (one black and one for the other three printing colors--cyan, magenta and yellow) clip easily into place. An advanced driver helps you control the printer and adjust settings for the best possible results on different media types.

A support tray extends to hold printed sheets, and twin paper trays hold blank sheets, which is useful for having photo paper in one tray and standard paper in the other. Buttons on the front of the printer let you easily switch between the two trays.

The Z65 offers 4,800 x 1,200 dpi resolution and quotes speeds of up to 21 ppm for monochrome and 15 ppm for color prints. The speeds are ambitious even when referring to draft quality as they do. However, text output is prompt for an inkjet; and when you crank up the quality settings, you get crisp output with solid blacks. Color printing, which for most people means photos, can be much more time-consuming. However, after experimenting with the settings, you can get stunning results if you're using good quality photo paper. --Jason Weston

Any pictures that I have printed with the color cartridge have come out too dard.

Get what you pay for.......2007-01-13

The color cartridge is complete crap. I already returned the first non-working color one, so I didn't feel like jumping through all those hoops again, but the color cartridge they sent out works mediocre at best.

The black cart works great on the other hand, so if you're like me and mostly use your printer for B&W, you should be fine.

If you're into printing photos, don't even consider these.

Ink cartridges that are best for me.......2007-05-15

My rating is based on the fact that I have been using a Jetprinter Z55 printer for 2 years long. During this time I have used a variety of after market ink cartridges as well as self fill cartridges for printing photos or documents. None of these provided the print quality as this cartridge form Eforcity. As such, I would like to only buy ink cartridge form Eforcity.

You get what you pay for........2006-05-12

I'm not sure if the listing changed or I missed NOT LEXMARK product. But it isn't. I thought remanufactured meant LEXMARK but just a returned or previously defective product. Anyway, does'nt look like lexmark and doesn't perform like lexmark. My color cartridge has been ok, but the black one showed signs of leaking when it got here and does not print consistently. Always light areas of black on the edges of the paper. I would spend a few more dollars next time and buy the real thing.
