Old model, but worth considering, if found. Small yet dependable. Not especially a colored ink hog, but all 6 colors in one cartridge (black ink seperate, of course.)

Since I got this great printer I have not had any problems. Prints great photos. Does take a little time to figure out all the options and settings. Worth the price I paid.

A top Photo Printer - If used correctly!.......2000-05-13

Epson have always produced high quality printers and this is no differnt. From my first print on PHOTO PAPER this gives a truely perfect print. I recently printed some wedding photos as doubles and framed them. It all depends on the quality of the image you are printing and the paper. My digital camera photos do not come out as good as when I scan a photo in. However this is a fault of my camera and not the printer. Text prints very well altough I have seen better. A good trick with the cartridge is to replace it once the printer says its finished. You will be able to get a lot more prints out of it. At no degreation. When the ink runs out, you will know! Dont trust the meter. An A4 print takes about 4-5 minutes to print on photo settings which is not lightening but you must wait for Quality. I cant beleive the two bad reviews I've seen on this page have been using it correctly or with high quality images on good paper. I've seen many printers and this one is at the top. Consumables are also reasonably priced. If you want high quality photos and good word processed documents then this is the printer for you! I cannot rate it highly enough.

Unbelievable Quality for the Price.......2000-05-11

This printer will print absolutely beautiful, optical photo quality prints. It is a perfect match for a high quality digital camera like the Kodak DC280 or the new Olympus or Casio. It was easy to set up, is easy to use, and I have had NO problems with the results.

If it has any fault at all, it is that it seems to be partial to Epson paper. It is configured for Epson, and although it can use other photo papers, you will have to diddle with the software to get the best results. I have seen the blotchy facial tones reported earlier, but only with other-than-Epson paper.

Perhaps if I were a professional photographer, I could find some gripe with the printer, but as a consumer, I couldn't be happier. I'm going to have to buy a framing shop, I now have so many 5x7 and 8x10 pictures of the family to hang. (The pictures, not the family)

All in all, I love the printer, it is very inexpensive, and I no longer process any optical film...I'm totally digital!

I use the printer for high resolution outputs. I read some of these other reviews and am writing this to couter thiers. The printer is probably one of the best "photo quality" printers out there. When it comes to interface, well, I print cad documents with it and have never had a problem.
