Designed for home office or small business use, the remanufactured HL-5170DN laser printer is both flexible and expandable, making it a great fit for both Mac and Windows users. The printer offers such essentials as fast print speeds, graphics-quality resolution, built-in automatic duplex printing, upgradeable memory, and outstanding user support, helping set a standard for quality monochrome printing. And unlike many home office printers, the HL-5170DN comes with an external 10/100 BaseT Ethernet interface and an external 802.11b wireless print server, so you can easily connect the device to a network for multi-computer printing--even from a wireless laptop. The network feature also makes the printer a good fit for small workgroups within larger companies.
The HL-5170DN, which employs traditional black-and-white laser technology, prints at a speedy 21 pages per minute, with a resolution as high as 2,400 x 600 dpi in HQ mode. As a result, both text and grayscale images look remarkably sharp and crisp, making the printer appropriate for everything from multimedia projects to professional business presentations. The printer also supports two-sided printing thanks to the automatic duplexing feature--a nice time and paper saver. Adding to the value is a relatively large 250-sheet paper tray, a 50-sheet multipurpose tray, and 32 MB of standard memory (upgradeable to 160 MB)
The printer, which also includes USB 2.0 and parallel port interfaces for standard computer connection, prints up to 3,500 pages using the included toner cartridge.
