Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Bought This Computer from CompUSA 2 years ago........2007-02-18

Some notes about this computer.

The video card will NOT work with the game City of Heros. It will almost work with the Sims 2. Back up your game in a different folder every once in a while because if it does hit a flaw it will delete your family. It works fine with World Of Warcraft but if you want the best graphics possible you will have to get a new one. They're very easy to change out.

It does not have a video out port. So forget using this computer purely as a DVD player and hooking it up to your TV. You can't.

Get the fastest internet connection you can--this baby can fly.

You might want to throw in some more ram if you're keeping it for gaming so it can keep up in the next few years.

I haven't had a virus scanner on it for a year and it still works.

It stays nice and cool due to the box but it also gets a LOT of dust for the same reason. You'll have to clean it every six months like a regular computer or the fans will die.

Mine arrived perfect out of the box but I bought it from CompUSA and they have good customer service.

I have just recently been having a problem writing DVDs. I can still write CDs (it has a combo drive). I think the DVD writing software is bugged.

The HP monitor that came with mine has dead pixels. Very annoying if you're doing art.

Love the USB ports on the front. Very convient.

It's more of a gaming machiene than a media center.

After having a Gateway for 3 years and being on school machienes this is the best computer that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. All computers have their quirks and this machiene makes trouble shooting them easy.

1 out of 5 stars hope you don't need hp support.......2007-01-09

HP support should be called non-support. I have bought a lot of HP products in the past but have always been lucky enough to have them all hold up through the warranty period until now. Bought a Pavilion Media Center PC with lightscribe and less than 5 months later the lightscribe dvd died. Do the get me a replacement or just a run around? You got it....the run around. I will never and I advise everyone else not to buy from HP until they can prove to stand by their warranties.

1 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware!.......2006-12-14

My first comment is that if you are going to purchase this or any other HP Media Center, you'd better hope it arrives in perfect operating condition or you may experience the worst customer support imaginable. Other than their ignorance, arrogance and absolute unwillingness to listen or document any conversation, there is no method of resolving issues, no matter how far they escalate the case. Secondly, if you use any type of real-time digital music workstation hardware or software, it probably will not work. Windows XP Media Center is not compatible with nearly all music production and editing hardware or software. Altough this is the only operating system that has this flaw, HP did not feel it necessary to point this out on advertising or in any informational material.

4 out of 5 stars I love my hp.......2006-08-31

I bought this about a year ago and i love it. I have had no problems. It does everything i wanted. I'm happy with my purchase.

4 out of 5 stars It's been great!.......2006-08-16

A great computer at a great price when I bought it. Since then I've done some odds and ends upgrading of the video card and added another gig of RAM in order to run my games more smoothly. Right out of the box it ran the Adobe CS2 suite like a charm.
