The Super DLTtape technology pioneers several technical innovations, including: Laser Guided Magnetic Recording, Magneto-resistive Cluster Heads, a new high-efficiency Partial Response Maximum Likelihood Channel in the drives and Advanced Metal Powder technology in the media. All these innovations add up to increased performance and capacity with MTBF exceeding 250, 000 hours (100% duty cycle) on the drive and 1, 000, 000 passes on the media.
