Customer Reviews:
Stay away from Emachines.......2006-08-17
This system has a terrible quality record. Bought one from Best Buy and had several quality issues including a capacitor that fell out of the power supply(bad workmanship). Tech support will sell you "upgrades"(notice they do not call them replacment parts?). They must think the general public is just plain stupid. But than again I must be because I had actually bought two of these machines. I guess I will just buy Dell or Gateway next time. Live and learn. Learn from my mistakes.
E Machines Does It Again.......2006-06-14
I just bought this new e-machines computer and I have to say that it works great. The only thing I didn't like is that the nvidia video memory is shared with the main proccesor's memory. I checked my system and sure enough I was only running at 384MB of memory. The next day I went out and bought 512MB of PC3200. I installed the chip and my system now tells me I have 896MB. My e-machine is now perfect. I like how the recovery disk is built in, and also the speakers are pretty decent, especially with the 5.1 sound. I also liked how I took my flash media out of my digital camera, and was able to insert it into one of the multi-media slots and was able to view my photos instantly, without any software. The DVD burner is a plus also. The memory cost me about $40.00. This is a pretty fast machine at 2.2 Ghz. I'm using Wi-Fi Dsl and it flys on the internet. In my opinion this is a pretty good bargain for the price.
Emachines makes a nice product.......2006-05-12
I don't have any experience with this model, but I intend to purchase one. I am mainly posting to point out that the above person has posted this identical anti-Emachines message on every Emachines section of amazon.com. That isn't to say that she hasn't had problems with an Emachines computer, just that it is unlikely that it was this particular one which caused her greif. Just FYI Thanks. PS i've been using Emachines for three years, and they have never let me down.
PIECE OF JUNK.......2006-05-02
I purchased this emachines through Best Buy 1 1/2 yrs ago. I have had many computers in my lifetime and this one has been the most disappointing to me. The motherboard shorted out/blew the other day and now I am left with a piece of junk. After talking to many people I work with, I find out I am not the only one with issues exactly as this one. Now I am completely out of luck and the $500 I spent! I will never purchase an emachines again! Yesterday, I ordered a Dell, let's see how that one behaves!
Luckily, customer service is nice, but they didn't fix this computer!
