Super high quality case. Extra care taken with design and build quality truly makes a difference with termal control and noise. Required case modifications for Thermaltake liquid cooling setup. Plenty of room after removing extra storage compartments. Drive mount dampers work well to control vibration and noice. High quality build/components througout.

Power supply not built to last.......2007-03-31

As the other reviewers say, generally a fantastic case. I purchased five of these, however, and three of the five power supplies have died. The systems all received clean power via APC line conditioners. My guess is that my RAID-0 harddrive setups were a little too taxing for the power supply, but that's no excuse; these power supplies should be able to handle RAID-0. Since these PS failures occurred just after the warranty expired, Antec said they will not replace the power supplies (not even one) and is not responding to any of my follow-up inquiries.

Super Mid Tower.......2007-03-08

I am positively impressed with this tower case. Briefly stated, I like the following features: security, separate compartment for power supply, large fans for quiet efficient filtered air movement, and quality appearance. Some patience is required in the routing of cables but not a significant issue.

Pro: Solid build and quality. Ease of use. The built-in storage area inside the case is nice.

Best case yet, but still not perfect.......2006-12-08

This is probably the best case I have ever used. It looks very nice and I love the front panel door. It is also vewy, vewy qwiet (hu hu hu hu)... good if you are hunting rabbits.

The other reviewers complained a bit about the noise, but that is really not the fault of the case. The fans that come with the case are completely flexible. Each has three speed settings (high, medium, low). At the lowest setting, they are hardly audible, but are flexible enough to ramp up the airflow if you have a really hot machine.

Further, you can, for example, remove the top fan and simply seal the hole from the inside of the case with tape or even dynamat to reduce noise further. I haven't done this, but I have seen it done. As I continue to use my system more and monitor the temps, I may decide to do this as an experiment to see if the top fan is really necessary. Even without the top fan, the rear fan may still be enough for me. We'll see.

For me, I put three hard drives in the bottom compartment. Using the silicone grommets really reduce the noise of the machine. The fan in the bottom sucks air over the drives to keep them cool. The fact that they are in the bottom of the case makes them quieter also.

Another thing I like is the little touches. The silicone strips on the power supply cage reduce the vibration noise of the typical case. I don't know if it works, but it's this attention to detail that I think makes a difference when all put together.

Finally the side panels. ALl other cases I have worked with are simple metal sides or metal with clear plastic windows. If you tap on the sides of the case, it makes a huge noise. The P180 on the other hand is completely dead when you rap on the side with your knuckles. It's actually pretty amazing how much of a difference it makes.

Now for the bad stuff so that people don't think I'm a fanboy or something. First, the case is a little cramped. There could be a little more room between the mobo and the hard drive cages in the front. As it is, there is only about an inch or less.

Second, putting in the power supply was really difficult. If you have a power supply with a lot of cables, trying to route them through to the top of the case can prove a chore.

Next, I wish the hard drive lights were viewable when the door is closed. Closing the front door reduces the noise even further and it would be nice to keep it closed but yet still see the HD lights. The power light (blue) is still visible with the door closed.

Another minor annoyance is with the fans that are provided. They are very quiet, but only have the standard 4-pin power connector. They lack mobo connectors or even just a mobo monitoring cable so that the mobo can make sure the fans are still running.

All together, these don't really add up to a whole lot of a problem for me. I just set all the fans on low and so far the system is working great and staying cool. Although not perfect, this is still the best case I have used to date. I just ordered 2 more to migrate 2 other computers to. I may even order 2 more on top of that. Overall, I am really impressed with this case.

Great design.......2007-05-06

I'll never buy a cheap case again. The tray mounting system is light years ahead of anything I've ever used and it isolates the hard drives from the case perfectly. They more or less render the rubber band mounts as unnecessary.

The big fan in the back and optional 90mm in front are nice and quiet. The filter is an added bonus, as well.

Antec has gained a long-time customer.

Quiet case but heavy..........2007-03-09

This is a good case. I didn't give it 5 stars because the CD rom buttons stick from time to time. It is a quieter case than my previous one and quite sturdy (heavy). The assembly instructions aren't the greatest. There is plenty of room for components and the snap in guides are great once I found them.

Expensive, but worth it.......2007-02-03

This is one of the Antec's Performance One series. I own it and use it, and it is simply great.

The case is well-built, not flimsy like one of those $20 cases. This is a quality case--and that's why it's a bit on the expensive side. The supplied power supply unit, NeoHE 430W, is also good, depending on which revision of the power supply you get. The early PSUs were notorious for incompatibility and quality (as the other reviewer has said) but the latest revision seems to have these solved. Me, I had used a third-party PSU to begin with, so I can't comment on that.

The unique feature of this case is that it supports elastic suspension of the hard drives. Thick rubber bands basically coil around the hard drive and keep it in the drive bay, all but eliminating the vibrations that the hard drives emit.

Overall, the layout is similar to most other Antec and generic ATX cases, with possible exception of stealth drive bay doors and elastic suspension drive bays. I recommend this case if you want a case with quality parts and quietness. It only holds 3 drives with suspension, though, so I cannot recommend this as a server case.

Great case, poor power supply.......2007-01-29

I bought two of these cases to build new Vista ready computers for my home. The cases are super...everything you would expect from an Antec case. Well made, dead quiet, easy to add in your parts.
The mother boards I bought are Intel DG965WH models and the Neo430 power supplies furnished with the case will not power these motherboards. When I contacted Antec about it they said it was a problem they new about and they would replace the power supplies. I returned both and after a month wait I got two new Neo430 power supplies. These did not work either.
I went to a local supplier, bought another model from a different manufacturer and it worked perfectly. If you are planning on buying Antec Neo model power supplies you better make sure it will work with the mother board you want to use.

Ultra 'simple' case.......2007-01-04

If you can get this case for a good price, this is a simple but good computer case. As you can see, the front of the case offers a clean design with the case door closes which is a plus in my opinion. The blue color looks black in my apt. There is also a front slot that can be open and close that contains usb and firewire ports. The side vent for the cpu's heat dissipation is useful, although it is not particularly attractive; it also make for a nosier computer. The lower rating is for the fact that the hinge for the case front door is easily broken. It is made of plastic; regular use especially with force will break it. I was able to repair it, but I will open it with care.

nice case.......2007-06-26

nice little case. plenty of room for the stuff I wanted to install... and unless you're building a super-gamer-hot-box, there seem to be plenty of cooling vents and ports to mount fans.
I bought it mainly because it had a locking door so I could keep my toddler's hands out of the drives and power button.... does a GREAT job for that. Don't expect high security though... the door is plastic and even locked, would be easy for an adult to just rip the door off. Plus with the door closed, it has a more sleek look to it.
