All in all this is a decent computer for the price. It comes preloaded with Linspire Linux (formerly known as Lindows), which is ok for former Windows users who just want something easy to use. I do not like Lindows, however, and switched to Slackware Linux. It installed easily, and I am very happy with it.

I have one caveat, however. You would think that all the hardware on this machine would be compatible with Linux, but the modem is a winmodem. Winmodems are not real modems. They have parts missing that are emulated by software in Windows. This makes them cheaper. Linspire has the drivers for the modem, but if you want to use a different distribution of Linux (or even Unix or Beos), you should consider buying an external modem.
