Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Really great product with few 'GOTCHAS'.......2002-05-27

I really enjoy this system. I don't have problems with the machine freezing up and it boots up very fast. I have captured video, burned CDs, burned DVDs and everything behaves the way it should.

I am an HP fanatic! I only purchase HP computers, printers, and calculators. I'm convinced they proficiently test their products so I'm not left with some driver problem or IRQ problem. I have been burned with hand built computers as well as other computers manufactured by HPs competitors.

The gotchas to me are the following:
1) no restore disk -- HP is a bit fanatical about not making
those available.
2) It seems as though only HP DVDs work with the machine.
I tried DVDs from Imation, TDK, and HP.
3) The box is too small. I personally have a system of
always putting 2 hard drives in a machine. The drive
that comes with the computer holds applications and
windows. The drive I install in is usually used for
data. To back up my data, I simply back up the drive
and I'm done. The box size is so small, I have to
remove the mother board to insert another hard drive.

5 out of 5 stars What a difference!!.......2002-05-19

I have had this for almost a month. What a change! With the computer, XP, and a Sony A-400 monitor, the internet has never been faster on DSL, it starts right up when you press on, it hasn't crashed yet, the color is great and the burner with it's software works like a floppy.

The amount of memory and speed makes it a non problem. It does photos like there is no tomorrow.

One note of caution, I had a HP photosmart 315 digital camera, it doesn't work on XP, HP didn't do the drivers, weird since it is a HP computer.

Also the mouse and keyboard are USB, so I was able to plug them into my monitor which has 4 USB ports, so I have plenty.

I LOVE it

4 out of 5 stars Turbo HP.......2002-03-16

System is great, if combined with the flat panel monitor from HP WOW.... It's a piece of art... XP windows operating system is nice but don't expect to receive a recovery disk... Have fun.
