IBM TotalStorage SAN Switch F08 provides 8-port, 2 gigabit per second entry solutions designed with a common architecture and an integrated enterprise SAN management capability. The Entry-fabric Switch provides simple, low cost connectivity for Windows NT/Windows 2000 server clustering, LAN-free backup, storage consolidation and remote disk mirroring. The Full-fabric Switch feature adds Advanced Zoning, Fabric Watch and connectivity for up to eight switches. The full-fabric switch combined with IBM 3590 and LTO tape devices can provide a cost effective 2 gigabit per second tape solution. This feature can enable customers to initially deploy separate SAN fabrics at the workgroup level and then to interconnect them into an integrated enterprise SAN as their experience and requirements grow and change.
