An exceptionally high-end desktop that's as comfortable in your living or entertainment room as it is in a typical computing environment, the Viewsonic NextVision M2000 Digital Media Center excels at virtually any task but is clearly aimed at those who exploit the multimedia potential of their PC. Featuring several exciting state-of-the-art components, the NextVision M2000 may alter the way you think about computers.
Certainly it's a powerful system. Driving the NextVision M2000 is a 2.86 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 512 MB of DDR RAM, and an nVidia GeForce4 MX440-8X graphics card with 64 MB of video memory. With speed and memory to burn, the unit will easily run any application currently on the market with the possible exception of some 3-D games, which may require a video card upgrade in order to translate a perfectly smooth frame rate. To make sure you have plenty of facilities to store and transfer your important files, the system is also equipped with a staggering 160 GB hard disk and a versatile DVD-R/RW/CD-RW combination drive, through which you can burn and listen to audio CDs, archive your files, watch movies and record video to DVD.
As the hub of an entertainment center, the NextVision M2000 excels. Designed to lie either vertically or horizontally, it integrates smartly with existing cabinetry. Featuring a convenient handheld wireless remote, it allows the operator to relax comfortably in an easy chair. Furthermore, with a built-in TV tuner and more storage space than most standalone personal video records, the unit can record up to 140 hours of television broadcasts.
Other amenities include a wireless, ergonomically-designed keyboard with integrated pointer, a fast 1394a FireWire connection for devices such as digital camcorders, front and rear USB 2.0 ports, optical and coaxial audio outputs, 5.1 surround sound capability, and a 6-in-1 card reader that handles most common card types. A display screen is not enclosed, thus allowing users to choose between the many options currently available. Including, of course, their big-screen TV!
