Powering the 523n is a 1.8 GHz AMD Athlon XP 2200+ processor. An 80 GB hard drive ensures you'll have plenty space to download, create, and store data files and digital music and photography content. The tower includes separate DVD (16x) and CD-RW (40x/40x/10x) drives for viewing movies on DVD and listening to and creating music CDs. It also includes integrated AC-97 Polk Audio stereo speakers with Power Port technology, and MPEG2 for full-motion video.
An integrated ProSavage DDR KM266 graphics card--with up to 32 MB of shared video memory--enables crisp performance in nearly any monitor you might connect to this system. The tower includes a V.90 56K data/fax modem, an integrated network- and broadband-ready 10/100Base-T Fast Ethernet interface, three PCI expansion slots (two available), an AGP 4x slot, four available USB 2.0 ports, and an available serial and parallel port. A one-touch HP Internet Command Center keyboard and a two-button PS2 scrolling mouse also are included.
Total memory slots include two DIMM slots (one available). L1 cache includes 128 KB of primary data cache. L2 cache includes 256 KB of advanced-transfer cache.
