They offer greater ease of deployment, administration, and use than any other desktop option.The Winterm 5455XL is a flexible Linux-based thin client that offers many hardware and software configuration choices to meet demanding customer requirements. The Winterm 5455XL desktop delivers server-based UNIX/Linux and 32-bit Windows applications to the desktop and can run resident Java applications. With a rugged metal chassis, legacy ports and expandable storage, it provides the most options for customers developing solutions tailored to their specific hardware and software needs.To meet the challenge of unforeseen requirements, the hardware, software and support processes have been designed to maximize flexibility. In addition, the file system is compressed to maximize the software features available. The expandable chassis has serial, parallel, and four USB ports; a PCI slot; internal IDE CD-ROM bay; internal hard drive bay; and internal PCI or USB floppy. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically to accommodate a variety of deployment environments. Runtime images can be updated through controlled processes and the Winterm 5455XL comes bundled with Rapport for Wyse, the management tool that maximizes ROI.
