Utilizing Oxford's 911 bridge chip, the Fire Wire ports on the Pacific Pro Audio Oxford 911 Fire Wire drive allows transfer rates of up to 50MB/sec. and with capacities of up to 160GB in a 7,200 RPM drive, it's perfect for digital audio recording as well as content creators who are transferring and storing huge amounts of audio and video on a daily basis. Tested with edit densities of 500 msec. these drives will playback in excess of 128 tracks @ 24 bit/48kHz on an Apple G5 Dual 2 Gig, and 100 tracks on a G4 Single 500. These units are capable of recording an amazing 24 tracks at the rate of 24 bit/192kHz! The ultra slim case takes up a minimum amount of space on your desk and does NOT contain a fan, so the control room remains quiet.
