I bought a refurbished version of this model for around $1000 and it has been in regular use for about six months now. At that price it is a great buy and an excellent choice for an all around family computer. I've been a VAIO fan for years now and generally recommend them to typical users (other than intense gamers) who are looking for a stable and well supported high performance platform. The price out of the box for a new Sony is a bit steep, but at $1000 the VGC-RB blows the doors off just about anything else in its class. If you're doing more then just reading e-mail or browsing the net this computer is a fine tool and worth the investment.
