Merely pick a destination via the easy-to-use keypad, and the iFinder automatically determines the best route and gives you intuitive directions. As with the best GPS navigators, the iFinder is so reliable that its 12-parallel-channel GPS and WAAS receiver is accurate to within seven meters, making it a great fit for scavenger hunts as well as hikes and road trips. Should you want to customize your trip by avoiding toll roads and interstates, the iFinder Map & Music adjusts easily with alternative directions. It also recalculates trip routes should you get distracted and lose your way, and thanks to the card slot, it can save up to 100 of your favorite plot trails, with up to 10,000 points in any path.

The device holds more than just previous routes, however. It also includes a built-in continental U.S. and Hawaii background map featuring interstate exit services, and it supports up to 1,000 waypoints, 1,000 event markers, and 100 routes. Users with a zest for detail will appreciate the dual processors, which let you scroll quicker and receive faster screen updates. The processors are particularly handy when using the 40 map zoom ranges (from 0.02 to 4,000 miles).

The SD card slot is versatile enough for several functions as well. Listeners can save their favorite MP3 or Ogg Vorbis music files on an SD card and listen to them on the iFinder, or they can download additional maps for GPS navigation. Plus, the device is compatible with a host of other Lowrance maps and charts, including FreedomMaps, Fishing Hot Spots, LakeMaster Pro Maps, NauticPath USA, and Navionics electronic charts. Not worth for the money... and its made in mexico.......2006-03-12

This GPS unit is good for trecking but not for navigation. The builtin background US map has just interstates and notional highways. It find the exits to restautants and points of intrests from an interstate but doesnt give any directions to locate the needed place.

Gadget is not user friendly and too confusing for a 1st time user.

Its too big in size to put it in a pocket and doest come with any other accessory. MP3 player of this size is not of much use.

Lowrance wants money for all detailed maps which cost apx $100 for each. They even want $50 for a suction mount which is rediculuous for a $150 gadget. SD/MMC card slot in built below the AA battery slot and the maps can be loaded to SD card only by buying a USB SD slot adapter. This GPS doesnt have a USB port to connect to the computer directly. Thus lowrance wants more money for all these accessories.

I guess lowrance should make market by competing with its competitors for lower prices and giving more quality products. But its hard for a mexican made gadget to compete with the existing market
