GE's speakerphone allows you to speak from its comfortable handset or from across the room. Memory dialing provides added convenience, and quality GE construction offers reliability in this simple phone.
The setup for the GE 2-9316 required nothing more than simply plugging in the telephone line cord. Programming the memory-dial function was intuitive--we just picked up the handset, pressed Store, dialed the number, pressed Memory Dial, and pressed the button that we were assigning the number to. To dial a stored number, you simply press Memory Dial and then press the button that the number was previously assigned to. You may want to review the owner's manual for a complete introduction to these features, but this phone is easy to use even without documentation.
In our tests, handset conversations had perfect sound, just as we would expect. In conversations using the speakerphone component, we heard only minor clipping of voices as the conversation alternated from one person to another. However, the performance was certainly better than expected for an entry-level speakerphone.
With its simple operation, low price, and hands-free convenience, the Speakerphone from GE is a great value.
Pros:
- Simple operation
- Quality construction

Good Quality phone, Low Price with enough Features.......2002-03-07
I have this phone over 1 year, no problem so far.
3 headset volumne setting, and 12 quick dail memory.
I love the mute button feature, it is handy when you have to yell at the kids in the house, and don't want the other side to hear. Good value phone.
low price... low performance.......2002-01-29
During one month of use, this phone went "off-hook" on its own at least 3 times in the middle of the night. I promptly discarded it.
Worse Phone in this world.......2001-03-09
