      Amazon.com Product Description

The Sony Ericsson W800 was a big hit. Now, here comes the sequel, the W810i. All the same great Walkman features are here, along with robust phone functions, but now you get quad-band GSM, a larger and brighter display, and perhaps most importantly, support for EDGE high speed data. In addition to a powerful and easy-to-use Walkman music player, the W810i boasts a 2-megapixel auto-focus camera with flash, a Memory Stick Duo card slot, Bluetooth, and a speakerphone. Simply put, this baby's loaded.

Big screen, big features, big fun. View an interactive demonstration of the w810. You can also check out the W810i video.

Dedicated music control buttons make for easy listening.

Transfer songs to your W810i with the included Disc2Phone software.

      Two megapixels of camera goodness.
      Design
The W810i follows a long tradition of beautifully designed and crafted phones from Sony Ericsson. The same candy-bar style that graced the W800 is here, as is the horizontally-oriented camera unit on the back of the phone, allowing you to hold the phone just as you would a camera when you're taking pictures. The W810i's screen sports 176 x 220 pixel resolution with support for 262,000 colors. Quick access buttons below the screen make it easy to control the phone's Walkman music features, while a five-way center button controls most of the phone's menus and features.

The W810i contains 20 MB of embedded memory, but as mentioned, a Memory Stick Duo slot is provided, and it also supports Pro Duo cards, giving you storage capacities of 2 GB and beyond. The phone ships with a 128 MB Memory Stick Duo card. Of course, there's also a port for the phone's included stereo headset. USB and infrared data ports are provided, as well, and the phone supports USB mass storage so you can simply plug the phone into your computer and drag and drop files into the phone's memory using the included Disc2Phone PC application. To top it all off, the W810i's camera flash can double as a flashlight.

      Calling Features
The W810i's phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts with multiple entries per contact. A call list remembers your most recent missed, received and dialed calls. The phone's voice activated dialing makes calling your contacts as easy as saying their names, while the built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear. Polyphonic ringtones are included and you can also use MP3 and AAC music files as ringtones. A cool application called Music DJ even lets you mix your own ringtones. Meanwhile, picture caller ID lets you assign a photo to specific callers. Similarly, a ringer ID lets you assign ringtones to callers. More ringtones are available from AT&Amp;T's MEdia NET mobile web service. For those times you want to keep things discreet, there's a vibrate ringer mode. And because the W810i is Bluetooth-enabled, you can use a variety of headsets and handsfree kits for total wireless freedom when you're on the go.

      Messaging, Internet, and Tools
If you're looking for a mobile productivity partner, the W810i has you covered. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, and sound via MMS messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging possibilities. The phone also ships with a built-in email client with support for POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP protocols, while the included Access NetFront Web Browser allows you to surf full HTML web sites. An included IM client supports AOL, Yahoo!, ICQ and MSN instant messaging services. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

Getting on the Internet is easy with the W810i, as it supports the GPRS protocol, as well as the high speed EDGE data protocol. When used with a AT&Amp;T data plan and the phone's USB or Bluetooth data capabilities the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the W810i, including a voice memo recorder, a to-do list, a calculator, a calendar and an alarm clock. The phone also supports the SyncML PC synchronization standard, which lets you synchronize your PC-based calendar, contacts, notes and tasks with your W810i.

      Imaging and Entertainment
The W810i is a Walkman phone, and that means it offers a great mobile music experience. Load up your favorite songs in MP3 or AAC format on a memory card and listen to your heart's content. The user-friendly music player application also includes a "Music Mode" that shuts down the phone functions so you can listen on an airplane or anytime you don't want to accept calls. Meanwhile, Digital Mega Bass and stereo widening combine to enhance your listening experience. There's even an FM radio for catching the big game or your favorite stations. The radio also supports reception of digital song information from radio stations. To enjoy all your tunes, a stereo headset ships with the phone.

And don't forget about that powerful 2-megapixel camera, which features something most camera phones lack -- autofocus. Finally, you can get consistently great shots from any distance, shots that rival the quality of a dedicated digital camera. The camera also features an LED flash and a 4x digital zoom, and it can capture video, as well. Dedicated controls on the side of the unit will make you forget you're holding a phone in your hand.

And what about gaming? This phone is definitely geared for the mobile fun fanatic, as it supports widescreen and 3D games. The W810i comes preloaded with several games and more are downloadable from Sony Ericsson.

      Vital Statistics
The Sony Ericsson W810i weighs 3.49 ounces and measures 3.94 x 1.81 x .77 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 8 hours of digital talk time, and up to 350 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.

        Amazon.com Product Description

Adding a fashionable touch to Research in Motion's formidable arsenal of telephonic, PIM, and media tools, the BlackBerry 8300 Curve is also the smallest, lightest BlackBerry phone that includes a full QWERTY keyboard. This amalgam of the svelte BlackBerry Pearl and the more business-oriented 8800 combines RIM's long-valued corporate email and messaging platform with a host of advanced multimedia features, including a 2-megapixel camera and stereo Bluetooth (for listening to music via wireless headphones). Available in the U.S. exclusively from AT&T, it communicates over GSM/GPRS and EDGE networks and offers global voice and data roaming in over 130 countries.

        Key features at a glance:

The svelte, liquid silver BlackBerry Curve has a QWERTY keyboard and 2.5-inch screen on the front, and a 2-megapixel camera on the back (with flash and 5x digital zoom).

The full keyboard and the innovative trackball navigation system (placed above the keyboard) makes accessing your data and writing email a breeze.

The Curve is fashioned in a liquid silver finish with chrome highlights and subtly curving corners. Measuring 4.2 x 2.4 inches, the Curve is just as slim as the Pearl (0.6 inches) and weighs in at 3.9 ounces--just 0.7 ounces heavier than its predecessor. It features a bright 2.5-inch color TFT screen that provides 65,000 colors and a 320 x 240-pixel resolution, and it includes a light-sensing feature that automatically adjusts backlighting for indoor, outdoor and dark environments. Like the BlackBerry 8800, the Curve includes a trackball navigation system located on the top of the QWERTY keypad, and it also features an integrated spell checker with a customizable dictionary to help maintain accuracy while on the go. It has 64 MB of internal ROM memory, and is expandable using MicroSD memory cards. The battery provides up to 4 hours (240 minutes) of talk time and up to 17 days (408 hours) of standby time.

You can snap vivid photos (though no video) using the 2-megapixel camera on the back of the Curve, which also features a 5x digital zoom, built-in flash, self-portrait mirror and full screen viewfinder. It can capture images in up to three picture quality and size resolutions that can be shared instantly by email, MMS or BlackBerry Messenger, or even uploaded to your Flickr account with the Yahoo! Go service. Photos can also be immediately set as a unique caller ID or Home Screen image. You can edit photos and create albums within the Curve using the PhotoSuite application. Pictures can be cropped, rotated and straightened, and flaws can be fixed by removing redeye or changing the brightness, contrast, and saturation levels.

Listen to your favorite music and watch downloaded videos using the included stereo headset, or use an optional wireless headphone thanks to the Curve's support for the Bluetooth stereo audio profile (A2DP/AVRCP). The Curve is compatible with a wide variety of file formats, including MP3, WMA and AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ audio and WMV, MPEG4 and H.263 video. Dedicated volume controls are conveniently located on the side of the handset. You can also subscribe to the AT&T Music service, which includes access to online subscription music content from eMusic, XM Satellite Radio and more.

With the Voice-Activated Dialing (VAD) feature, you can initiate a call just by telling the Curve who to call from your contact list--either via the integrated speakerphone or using an optional Bluetooth wireless headset. Other advanced phone features include advanced sound technology that cancels out background noise and echo, dedicated volume and mute keys, and the ability to customize the Curve with polyphonic and MP3 ringtones.

Though it doesn't come with an integrated GPS receiver, you can add an optional Bluetooth-enabled receiver to take advantage of the BlackBerry Maps application. Check maps for fast turn-by-turn directions virtually anywhere--simply click on an address in your address book, type it or paste one in.

        Staying Connected
With BlackBerry's push email technology, your email will find you without having to initiate a connection. BlackBerry devices are designed to remain on and continuously connected to the wireless network, notifying you as new email arrives. In addition to the text, you can also receive and view attachments in a wide range of popular file formats, including Microsoft Office, Corel WordPerfect, and Adobe PDF.

Browse the web with the integrated, full-featured browser, which quickly and efficiently displays HTML pages as well as enables you to set up RSS feeds to stay connected to up-to-the-minute news and blog posts. And keep up with your contacts using a variety of instant message (IM) networks, including the integrated Blackberry Messenger as well as downloadable clients for Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, and Lotus Sametime.

This quadband phone operates on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 networks and can handle high-speed data connectivity via AT&T's EDGE network, with availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. It also offers AT&T's Push to Talk (PTT) feature, which enables walkie talkie-style instant voice communication with other AT&T users--either one-on-one or with groups--and it allows you to convert the PTT call to a regular voice call if you need to have a longer discussion.

The Curve delivers all the corporate email and messaging capabilities you've come to expect. It's supported on BlackBerry Internet Service, giving you access to up to 10 work or personal email accounts (including most popular ISP email accounts), as well as BlackBerry Enterprise Server, enabling advanced security and IT administration within IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise environments.

A 1.9-inch color screen on the inside of the flip brings images and videos to life, while a small supplementary color display on the outside cover keeps tabs on your incoming call information, and more. The 2.0-megapixel camera is housed above this display. The KRZR K1 features an internal antenna, so there's nothing to snag or break off, and a MicroSD slot adds ample storage space to store content. Lastly, a mini USB port is provided for data synchronization.

And don't forget, with AT&T data service and a data plan (not included) and its Bluetooth or USB data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs.

The phone ships with a number of handy tools including an alarm clock, a calculator, a calendar, and a voice recorder. It supports the Sync ML data synchronization standard over Bluetooth or USB.

Support for Java-based gaming is built into the phone, and games are available for download via the AT&T MEdia Net service.

            Design
Audiophiles will love the N75's generous 40 MB of internal memory storage and memory card slot capabilities. The generously sized, 240 x 320 internal screen supports over 16-million colors, while a sharp and crisp outer screen sports a 128 x 160, 260,000 full color resolution. Just below the outer screen you'll find convenient media control keys--a great way to flip through your favorite tracks without ever needing to open the phone. Flipping open the phone reveals a traditional looking 5-way navigation button and backlit keypad that collectively controls all the phone's calling functions and most media functions. Turning the clamshell over reveals its advanced camera lens and flash. Meanwhile, the memory card slot resides on the phone's left side and volume control keys can be found on the right side. Lastly, high-speed data transfer to and from the device is supported by the N75's USB 2.0-compatible "Pop-Port."

            Calling Features
The N75's address book is only limited by the amount of available memory, and it can store multiple phone numbers, as well as physical and email addresses. Meanwhile, the phone's built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear. Polyphonic ringtones are included, as is a vibrating alert, and you can use your favorite music as ringtones. Ringer IDs let you assign specific ringtones to particular callers, while picture ID technology lets you similarly assign images or pictures to callers. More ringers can be downloaded from Cingular's MEdia Net service. In addition to speaker-independent voice recognition dialing, the phone also features technology that lets you control menu functions with your voice. Lastly, the phone's Bluetooth connectivity means that your favorite Bluetooth headset is fully compatible.

            Messaging, Internet and Tools
Getting on the Internet is easy with the N75. The highly intuitive Nokia Web browser with Mini Map delivers desired Web pages with their original design directly to the phones high-resolution color display. Furthermore, the browser enables RSS feeds, so users can subscribe to their favorite Web sites and receive regular updates. Keeping in touch with friends is just as easy as from your home computer, but the Nokia N75 is always with you--just follow simple set-up prompts to access an existing compatible email account or standard SMS and MMS features. Designed to work on Cingular's 3G, EDGE and GSM networks, the Nokia N75 provides a fantastic Web browsing experience at blazing fast speeds--ideal for both leisure and business applications.

And don't forget, because the N75 is a Symbian smartphone, it supports opening and editing of those important attachments--documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, and more.

The N75 supports PC synchronization via USB or Bluetooth, which means you can manage and synchronize contacts, calendar and other data with your PC. Nokia's PC Suite application makes this process a breeze. You can also use Bluetooth to connect a wireless keyboard for efficient text entry. A number of handy software tools are bundled with the N75 including a voice memo recorder, a calculator, a calendar, a to-do list, and an alarm clock. On top of all that, a wide range of applications are available for Symbian devices like the N75.

            Imaging and Entertainment
This is where the real fun begins. A mere click of the dedicated camera key on the Nokia N75 results in a sharp, ready to print 2.0-megapixel (1600 x 1200 pixels) photos. With a 16x digital zoom, an integrated flash LED, you can expect excellent quality from the photos taken. This entertainment device doubles as a mini TV screen, too, making it an ideal choice for optimized viewing of streaming and downloaded video clips. Featuring MPEG-4 video capture and playback in landscape mode, the Nokia N75 delivers an instant video experience with audio recording. With internal memory of up to 40 MB, which can be further expanded with an optional microSD card of up to 2 GB, the N75 allows you to capture up to 500 minutes of high quality video or close to 2500 2.0-megapixel photos. Additionally, once you've got all the pictures you want on your memory card, you can connect the phone directly to any PictBridge-compatible printer for instantaneous printing right from the phone.

The Nokia N75 music experience excels even with the device closed. The digital music player has easy to use controls on the cover of the device, and the reflective 1.36-inch color cover display guides you to your music, which is always just a button press away. Supporting a multitude of different formats, including MP3, M4A, AAC, eAAC+ and WMA, the advanced digital music player includes an equalizer, playlist, shuffle, and repeat features for a direct connection to compatible online music services. When you connect the Nokia N75 to your compatible PC, a mere tap on the music key acts as an instant link to music stored. The PC-mobile synchronization redirects your favorite tunes straight to the Nokia N75, which can store up to 1,500 individual tracks on an optional 2 GB microSD card. In addition to playing downloaded music and ripped CDs, the Nokia N75 also includes a stereo FM radio, allowing you to listen to your favorite talk or music radio stations through your compatible headphones or through the integrated 3D stereo speakers.

            Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars My Two Cents Worth.......2007-06-15

I had the N75 about two weeks and here is my report:
            o I find the loose-fitting lid an irritant. Maybe other(')s don't.
o Mine doesn't make any funny internal sounds.
            o Mine doesn't get hot.
            o Mine doesn't drop calls.
            o No stero bluetooth.
o Mine seems to do a good job of voice recognition.
o It bluetooths to my Moto H500 quickly, and the voice recognition works
            fine there also.
o The surface does soak up finger prints.
o The display screens are spectacular.
o I like the large buttons on the key pad.
o Large screen, large buttons = large phone, I guess.
o The battery goes flat pretty fast (one day), but I'm constantly
playing with the phone. Maybe when the newness wears off, It'll
            do better.
o The pop-port is a pain; also, they should have put it on the top
            or bottom.
o Transferring pictures, music and application using the pop-port
is a breeze. It's quicker than screwing with the microSD.
            o Speaker are loud enough.
o Being able to load different application is neat.
o The pictures seem plenty sharp for a 2 Mega-pixel. If you blow them
up, they become pixelated (see submitted pictures).
o I'm going to keep it and hope for a battery solution, or learn to
            live with it.

            5 out of 5 stars Best 3g Phone AT&T has to offer.......2007-06-12

The first thing you should do when you get this phone is change the packet data from "when available" to "when needed".
This is done by going to settings-->config-->connection-->packet data
This will solve the battery complaints posted by others. I can get ~2.5 days on a single charge.

I have had 3 long weeks to use and abuse the features of this phone.

Size wise: If you have a problem putting this phone in your pocket, get some looser fitting pants. People are probably seeing more than your phone bulging if this is the case.

Buttons: The whole keypad is spacious including the D-pad. I have large hands and find the tactility of the buttons to be high and are very easy for texting. The keypad buttons even tilt a little and make it easy to slide your hand around during fast texting/e-mailing.

Camera: Not a strong point. In some situations there is a green tint to the photos. The camera works best outside in sunlight and will produce pictures acceptable for a 5x7 with no green tint.

Operating system: Strong point of this phone big time. The Symbian S60 OS is the most customizable OS I have ever seen. Honestly, if there is something you want to customize you can probably do it. It may take a few days to get used to Symbian S60 but after that you won't look back. The availability of 3rd party programs is endless. I recommend Smart2go & Handy Alarm. Don't tell AT&T but this is actually a smartphone and has all the PIM features you need. Syncs with Outlook much easier/faster than Activesync and Windows mobile. It is also very easy to setup your e-mail accounts on the phone.

Media features: A pop-port to 3.5 or 2.5mm headphone jack is available online for $5-8, or Nokia's version for a bit more. It is worth the investment because the media player + a 2gb MicroSD has replaced my iPod nano. AT&T left Nokia's Music player on the phone and it is the best phone media player I have ever used. The built in speakers are loud, I mean insanely loud. I can turn it to 11 and it will drown out the TV and hurt my ears from 5 feet away. Once adjusting the EQ the sound quality improves. They are slighty tinny but not as bad as you expect.

Screens: Both screens are amazing. The inside screen is very crisp and does not wash out in direct sunlight. The outside is very functional and often times allows me to not flip open the phone for a lot of features.

Web: Use Nokia's web browser and not the Media Net one. It is a full feature browser and displays webpages just like a computer. It does not go to the mobile phone web but the actual web. Very amazing and far superior to Mobile IE.

Call Quality: Very clear and have yet to drop a call. I found myself calling people just to hear the call quality the first few days. I couldn't believe the clarity. Speakerphone is very loud via those little speakers on the back.

I would recommend this phone for anyone looking for a phone with some PDA functionality. The multimedia features just add to the functionality of the Symbian OS.

Every phone has its flaws and I find this phone to possess very few after fixing the battery issue and customizing it a bit.

            1 out of 5 stars Horrible Phone.......2007-06-11

I will just list the cons since havent noticed any pros
            1) Sluggish OS
            2) Freezes every now and then
            3) voice breaks if you put on speaker phone
            4) Location of sim card is the most awkward I have ever seen. Easy to put in but hell lot of struggle to take out the sim.
            5) Thick and heavy phone
            6) Horrible picture quality evne though it claims to have a 2MP camera.
            7) poor battery life ..much worse than I expected.

I am stuck with this phone since amazon doesnt offer replacecment .
The cingular guys told me that they would have replaced this phone with any other phone if I had bought it from them.

Conclusion: Never buy a phone from Amazon. Its better to pay few extra bucks to cingular and get the phone from them. Amazon is a rip off !

5 out of 5 stars A very nice phone for a very low price.......2007-06-10

I had to pay just $[...] after mail in rebates for this phone and this phone all the features I want. It syncs up with outlook, has nice internet browser interface and many other nifty features. It also calls out the name entered in the address book when you receive a call. I am very happy with this phone.

Only caution to use is, if you are buying this phone from Amazon, please be prepared to wait for nearly 2 weeks till you get the phone. I think it takes some time for Amazon to pass all your info to cellular company and mail the device after getting an approval.

            Amazon.com Product Description

The award-winning Cingular 8525 3G Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0-based Pocket PC phone, with its compact size and ultimate connectivity, is truly the complete mobile office solution. Roam anywhere in the world and use the phone's high speed Internet access, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi capabilities. The 8525 gives you more control than ever over the way you work.

The Cingular 8525 lets you do things you'd typically need a PC to do, like email, text messaging, instant messaging and Web browsing--all from one integrated device. What's more, the phone's software is designed to sync seamlessly with email, contacts, and calendar information on your PC. The 8525 also offers great mobile music and video options, thanks to Windows Media Player. Other design features include a unique slide-out QWERTY keyboard that makes messaging, note-taking, and other writing tasks a breeze.

            Design
Under the hood, the 8525 features 128MB of embedded memory and 64MB RAM, running on a 400 MHz Samsung processor. Up front, the 240 x 320 LCD touch-screen supports over 65,000 colors, while the rear of the device houses a 2.0 megapixel camera. The design of the 8525 is clean and uncluttered, with just a few buttons for mail, Internet Explorer, and contextual menus. Meanwhile, call answer and end buttons surround a five-way toggle that allows you to navigate and control the Windows Mobile interface. As mentioned, a full QWERTY keyboard cleverly slides out from underneath the screen. This allows you to hold the device horizontally, and the screen is automatically placed in landscape mode when you're using the keyboard. A side scroll wheel is conveniently tucked away on the side, making navigation when accessing the music player and other various applications a cinch when needed. A mini-SD memory expansion card slot is provided, as is an infrared port and support for a stereo Bluetooth headset. A mini-USB port is also included for wired data transfers and charging.

            Calling and PDA Features
The 8525's phone and PDA functions are designed to provide an integrated, seamless experience. A single main screen summarizes all the important information you need to make it through the day. Here you'll get message notification, upcoming appointments, dialing functions, tasks, and more all in one spot.

As a phone, the 8525 features all the functionality folks expect from a cell phone, including a handsfree speakerphone, polyphonic ringtones, a vibrate mode, and picture and ringer ID. The unit comes stock with preloaded unique ringtones, while more ringtones can be downloaded from Cingular Wireless' MEdia Net service.

Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile combines email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes into a single application that seamlessly integrates with the 8525's phone functions. Meanwhile, headsets, car kits, and other wireless peripherals can also be paired with the unit via Bluetooth.

Staying productive on the road is made possible by the Microsoft Office Mobile suite, which includes Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, and PowerPoint Mobile. Meanwhile, the File Explorer application makes it easy to browse the files on your 8525.

            Messaging and Internet
With the 8525, you can surf the Web with the bundled Internet Explorer application, or use MSN messenger to stay in contact via instant messaging. Plus, the inclusion of Wi-Fi capability in the 8525 allows you to surf the Web or check your email at blazing speeds when you're connected to a Wi-Fi network. No Wi-Fi network available? No worries; the 8525 is compatible with the latest generation of UMTS/HSDPA 3G data networks. With UMTS and HSDPA, you'll be streaming and downloading at speeds so fast your head will spin. And lastly, robust SMS and MMS functionality is built into the Windows Mobile interface.

Getting on the Internet with your laptop or PDA is easy with the 8525. When used with a Cingular data plan and the phone's Bluetooth or USB data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs.

One of the most important tools bundled with the 8525 is Microsoft ActiveSync, which allows you to quickly synchronize your device's tasks, calendars, email, and contacts with your desktop. You also get Exchange ActiveSync, an application that lets you synchronize data with an Exchange server. Syncing can be done via USB, or wirelessly via Bluetooth or infrared.

            Imaging and Entertainment
Another great feature of the 8525 is that it supports Windows Media playback right out of the box. With Windows Media Player, you can play streaming and downloaded video and audio content in a variety of formats.

As mentioned, the 8525 can take 2.0 megapixel pictures, and while the camera is great for taking stills, it can also function as a camcorder, allowing you to capture video to the unit's memory. An integrated media application organizes your captured photos and videos. For gamers, the phone supports Java-based and Windows Mobile games, and games are available for download via the Cingular MEdia Net service.

The Cingular 8525 also sports an airplane mode feature, which allows you to safely use the non-wireless functions of the phone (such as music, games or organizer functions) on an airplane during flight.

            Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good, but a bit pricey.......2007-06-13

I got the 8525 six months ago. It's good, and I'm happy I got it. Having said that. It's expensive, or was. It needs to be rebooted several times a week - seems to freeze on me every other day (the cingular store said, yeah that happens). Works well as a phone, though it is a pain to dial numbers by hand, the keypad is virtual (not sure what you do when you have to dial 911 in a hurry).

The Internet access has been great. We don't get 3G much in DC, and oddly get it more in out of the way places like the Chicago burbs, but even without 3g I've liked the speed of the access. I've used my phone a LOT as a modem for my Mac powerbook laptop and it works great - quite fast in fact. Having said that, you need to scour the Internet for instructions on how to connect the two, but you can find it and eventually it works.

As for the keyboard, I was a bit duped thinking the keyboard would permit me to type like a normal full sized keyboard. I type fast, like 90 words a minute, and I still have to type with two fingers on this keyboard, it's just the way it is. I find that my friends with blackberrys and treos tend to go from zero to 60, in terms of picking up their toys and doing a web search, quicker than me.

Don't get me wrong, it works well, and the wow factor is nice - people admire the phone. Also, I had to cajole Cingular/ATT into unlocking the phone for me - they refused at the store, but the nice lady on the phone did it for free when I called from Europe and begged. I bought a French SIM card and it worked great in the phone.

You'll hear varying stories on whether ATT can still charge you for accessing free wifi in Europe while still having your American SIM card in the phone. My tech friends say this is impossible. But Cingular claims it's true, as did the helpful lady on the phone who actually seemed to know her tech stuff. To be safe, remove the American SIm card if you're abroad and surfing the net with this thing - oh yeah, it really does work with foreign wifi, even without the sim card. Pretty cool.

Oh one more thing, as with many phones, I find the volume is just too low during calls. It's especially a problem when I download movies or tv shows from my computer (I use a PSP video 9 to shrink the movies and shows to the right size, then just sync the computer with the phone - for Mac users, you have to use Missing Sync and it doesn't always work, it's kind of weird, sometimes it syncs sometimes it doesn't). Anyway, yes you can watch tv shows and stuff on here, but the volume is very low and when sitting on a plan, forget it - I could not hear my shows using the headsets. I'm going to buy an adaptor so I can try different headsets on this. Oh yeah, buy an extra storage card, I got like 2 gigs for 50 bucks or something, it's worth it. I'd read the 4 gig cards weren't working as well with this phone, maybe that's fixed now. I think that's it.

Slingbox IS compatible with this phone, and it's cool as hell, I have it, and it works - but again, the volume issue if you're anywhere even vaguely loud (having said that, i was on jury duty and sitting in the courthouse in a crowded room and could hear my shows fine through the cheap earphones). So, all in all, I'm satisfied, it's cool, it works. I've never owned another smartphone or treo or anything, so have nothing to compare to. I'll consider switching to an iPhone in a year when that shakes out more. PS The size doesn't bother me, I have it in my pocket all the time, in jeans or a suit it's fine in your pants. In shorts, yeah it starts to get a bit big, but again, it's really not as large as it looks.

The camera sucks. It auto sharpens all the photos horribly - I've tried to stop it, you can't, it just does. REally really really bad photos - and I take photos for a living, but also take them for fun, you won't be using this phone for photography, trust me, it's bad. The video isn't bad however, I just don't have a reason to use it.

5 out of 5 stars Cingular 8525 exceeded my expectations!.......2007-06-02

After reading many of the reviews, I was shocked that the 8525 was far better than I expected. I took the time to go through the online tutorial. In addition the DVD that was included was self explainatory. The battery life was better than I was led to believe, especially after the push to talk upgrade. You have more than one way to access info. i.e contacts, task, photos, etc. This is my first smartphone. I hope you enjoy this product as much as I do.

1 out of 5 stars Useful device - If it worked. Customer support is TERRIBLE!.......2007-06-02

Less than a month after I purchased this exceptionally expensive phone, it stopped working. I called the vendor, and they decided that the damage was not covered by the warranty, (apparently, getting accidentally sprayed by a neighbor's garden sprinkler is enough to totally kill this phone) and after keeping me on hold for the better part of half an hour, informed me that they would do NOTHING to help. They did offer to sell me a new phone at full retail! How generous!

Is this how this company treats its high end clients? I have (soon to be past tense) full data service on two phones, and bought their top of the line phone.

To top it all off, another friend had an 8525, which got in the way of a coffee spill. They refused to help there, as well.

This phone is apparently, ridiculously fragile for day-to-day business use. I now have a $400+ paperweight. Don't make the same mistake.

3 out of 5 stars solid phone but way overrated.......2007-05-31

i bought this phone because of all the positive reviews and i was satisfied at first. its been about two months that i've owned this phone and i have to say its not really worth the price. first of all, the biggest disappointment is that it doesn't have the same email technology as blackberries and treos. i'm talking about the direct push email feature. that means that you have to go to your inbox and select "send/receive" to get new email every time you want to check your email. that gets very annoying especially when everyone with the other pda phones have seamless integration of email on their phones.

the phone is also pretty bulky. i bought the phone knowing this already and was willing to make the sacrifice. i actually like the weight of the phone, but it wasn't worth having such a big phone without having effective email software. the best feature might be the slide-out keyboard which is useful.

this phone is also not as sturdy as most phones esp. not as sturdy as blackberries. i admit that i am a phone-dropper becuase i am very thoughtless at times. however the keyboard became loose after a couple of drops (i'm not talking about big drops, just small ones from my lap to the ground). and now the power button is stuck in the phone.

p.s. cingular sucks and they are notorious for misleading advertising. their slogan for least dropped calls is just absolute b.s. i switched from sprint because i thought sprint was bad but now i wish i was back with them or with verizon.

3 out of 5 stars 4 stars for form, 5 for features, 1 for durability and support.......2007-05-29

So I've had a Cingular 8525 for a month. Mostly, I love it. To be sure, the form factor is a bit chunky (but then again so is mine). The large screen makes browsing the web, reading and responding to email, and working with Word Mobile documents very easy. The slide out keyboard is easy to use and much more user-friendly than the tiny keys that were on my old Treo. The phone part is decent. No physical keys, but the display menu works reasonably well. (Not to be used while driving, however.) The unit linked easily to a bluetooth earpiece. Ditto a bluetooth keyboard.

Now for the bad news. After just a month, the large display cracked. My situation was exactly the same as that described by another Cingular smartphone user: "The external LCD screen on the phone cracked mysteriously. This seems to be a design flaw. Do a web search ( "Cingular 3125 cracked LCD" ) and you will find a number of owners who have had this problem. The descriptions are all the same - no one dropped the phone, they just generally pulled it out of their pocket and it was cracked. The crack appears on the *inside* (internal side) of the screen so it is not the result of physical damage by the user (no external facing dents/marks etc). Users posting in web forums report that the damage is not covered by Cingular. They also report that the phone is not insurable."

Ditto here. The phone was not dropped, it wasn't abused, it just came out of my shirt pocket broken. Although this looks like a design problem, Cingular refused to replace the unit. I ended up buying a replacement. And a case. Meanwhile, the run-around I got from Cingular (two stores and three phone calls), plus their "it's not our problem" attitude has won them a lot of ill-will on my opart.

            5 out of 5 stars 38wdeez.......2007-06-20

This basic little cordless phone is just what we needed in a cordless phone. All of our previous cordless purchases were 3 to 4 times the cost of this durable AT&T basic model. We chose this unit based on C/R ratings and haven't been dissapointed. It gives clear calls and stands up to abuse well while still maintaining its simple, stylish appearance in our home. Why pay more for technology and features you rarely use anyway, unless you are a sucker for marketing ploys.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good, except. . ........2007-06-12

I got this phone as a Christmas gift this past Christmas, so it's been about all of 6 months now. It is a pretty good phone. The sound quality is good and I haven't had the battery die out once yet, but I am shopping around for another. For the past month or so, when I'm talking to someone on the phone, the sound will just cut out. The other person can hear me, but I can't hear them. I have to hit the antenna to try and get the sound to come back. It is really annoying. If it weren't for that problem, it would be a great phone. Maybe we just have a bad one, I don't know.

            Amazon.com Product Description

Featuring the perfect blend of broadband-like speed, dynamic multimedia capabilities, and cutting-edge design, the MOTO RAZR V3xx is the first Motorola handset to ship with High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and EDGE technology. The iconic RAZR design is still here, as is the all-metal construction, this time, though, the phone boasts an updated and streamlined design, enhanced media capabilities, a 1.30-megapixel camera, a hot-swappable MicroSD memory card slot, and more. Simply put, the V3xx is the perfect combination of performance and style, and the perfect complement to Cingular service.

Cingular, Motorola, and HSDPA high-speed data: the perfect combination.
            Design
At .58 inches thick, the RAZR V3xx is virtually the same thickness as the original RAZR. And like the original RAZR, the phone's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, fully-anodized aluminum construction, and 60 MB of internal memory. A large 240 x 320 color display with over 262,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover, while the outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color display that can display caller ID pictures, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The integrated VGA and 1.30-megapixel digital camera is housed above this display. Use the VGA camera for live two-way video calls at up to 15 frames per second. Up/down buttons are placed on the left side for volume control, as well as the camera button and mini-USB port.

Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad, which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy. A mini-USB port is provided, which, while useful for fast data transfer, can also be used with compatible USB stereo headsets. Note that the phone does not have a standard 2.5mm headset jack. Lastly, a charging port is placed on the bottom of the phone, and an unobtrusive internal antenna is safely tucked away, keeping the phone's design compact and portable.

            Calling Features
The RAZR V3xx's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. The phone also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear while voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names. Speaker-independent technology allows any speaker to dial numbers with the voice dialing system. And because the RAZR V3xx is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets for calling, and even wireless stereo headsets for music can be configured with the phone for total handsfree operation.

            Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The RAZR V3xx is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. With HSDPA and EDGE technology, the RAZR V3xx delivers broadband-like speeds for downloading, Web browsing, and data exchange. Leveraging these advanced capabilities, the RAZR V3xx allows for live two-way video calls at up to 15 frames per second, over the air music and video downloads, direct media streaming, and more.

Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. And because UMTS and HSDPA support built right into the phone, you'll be streaming and downloading at speeds so fast your head will spin. Used in combination with one of Cingular's MEdia Max plans that supports Cingular Video (additional Cingular charges apply), the V3xx will allow you to play high-quality news clips, sports clips, weather clips, and more--right on your phone. And with Cingular's exclusive partnership with HBO Mobile and HBO Family Mobile, you'll never be at a loss for something good to watch.

There's also a built-in web browser for MEdia Net downloads and mobile web browsing. Cingular's MEdia Net service lets you do more than just stream videos--it lets you receive and send emails, read news headlines, get weather updates, download games and ringtones, and more. iTap text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

Getting on the Internet is easy with the V3xx. When used with a Cingular data plan and the phone's Bluetooth or USB data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the V3xx including a calculator with currency converter, a calendar and an alarm clock. The phone can also be used with Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools PC application to manage and synchronize contacts, calendar and other data with your PC. The phone also sports an airplane mode feature, which allows the user to safely use the non-wireless functions of a phone (such as music, games, or organizer functions) on an airplane during flight.

            Imaging and Entertainment
The RAZR V3xx's integrated 1.3-megapixel camera and VGA video camera bridges the gap between phones and quality digital cameras. Animated screensavers and full screen wallpapers are supported too, so you can set up the RAZR V3xx to suit your tastes. Lastly, the phone supports java-based games and applications.

The RAZR V3xx is a serious music phone. When the feeling strikes you, jam out to your favorite music on the unit's advanced MP3 player. The phone sports a microSD/TransFlash memory card slot, so you can load up all your favorite music and bring it with you (memory cards sold separately). And because the phone supports MobiTV and MobiRadio, in addition to streaming video and TV, you can listen to your favorite radio station via the supported digital radio service--great for times when you feel like listening to new music (additional Cingular charges apply).

4 out of 5 stars AT&T Lies about Dropped Calls but phone is not problem.......2007-06-21

I was talked into this phone when I almost used my old Motorola as a hockey puck when it "spontaneously died" along with 2 other Cingular customers who also had the Motorola V557- Our phones just powered off and would not power on, and we were all within a month of contract end and planning to go to Nextel. However, the phone has performed well. Battery life could be more like I was led to expect, but it is ok. It charges best if turned off, and the camera (not a critical accessory) is phenomenal, sometimes outperforming my wife's digital. However my carrier is still big disappointment.

3 out of 5 stars had high hopes.......2007-06-19

I really had high hopes for this phone. Previously I had a cingular v3 for 2 years and couldn't have been happier with that phone. So, in looking for a new phone, naturally I went with the v3xx because of the 3g network, new screen, sd slot, and all the new features. Everything was great with the phone, screen is awesome, data transfer is quick, phone looks great, but I could not get over the most important thing in a phone: call quality.

Experienced terrible reception with this phone, numerous dropped calls, and being in downtown L.A., I'm not sure of the reason. I'm on my second unit and still experienced the same issues. Dropped calls + voice distortion to the point where i was asking people to repeat certain words several times a minute. I suspect it mostly occured when the phone was switching from 3G to Edge, or vice versa as I experienced the worst reception and call quality when I noticed the network icon switching back and forth. Needless to say, I'll be returing this to amazon, perhaps looking to another carrier and settling with edge network, instead of 3g. I see other people are completely happy with this phone, so I guess reception and phone quality greatly varies, and maybe my gripe is more with the network than the phone as everything else with the phone was excellent.

3 out of 5 stars the speaker phone is not that great..........2007-06-18

The phone's case on the back did not close properly...

3 out of 5 stars Cool design with some "need to get used to" features.......2007-06-11

I definitely like the phone for it's slender design and features. the only thing that gets me is getting used to actually using the phone. trying to make sense of call history, or to quickly access some of your items can be trying for someone who is not as tech savvy with cell phones. i enjoy the phone and it does what it supposed to do very well... make and receive calls!
clear audio quality, no dropped calls so far and a HUGE screen to see things. after reading the guide and sitting down with the phone for an hour or two and re-programming it,... it's a lot more user-friendly. it's as good as any other phone for text msgs.
good battery life and if looking for accessories, definitely look for a snug holster to avoid this phone from feeling loose in its case. You can also find good accessories at Radioshack.

3 out of 5 stars a decent phone for its price.......2007-06-10

this phone is better than the older V3 motorola phone. It has a much better screen resolution and responds faster. But the interface takes a little time and effort to get used to. But on the whole decent phone for its price.

5 out of 5 stars Very nice for the price!.......2007-06-16

I received and hooked up my new AT-PL120S turntable today, everything was very easy. When I picked up the box the first thing I noticed is that this baby is HEAVY and appears to be very well made from solid materials.

This unit is taking the place of my 30 year old Dual 506 belt drive turntable and so far it seems to be a worthy replacement. I use my turntables for listening to LP's, not for DJ purposes but this new turntable looks and performs like it could fit the bill no matter how you used it.

I have not yet used it to transfer LP's to my computer but I excited about the opportunity. All in all I am extremely happy with my Amazon.com purchase; the price was excellent and so is the turntable.

For less than $200 and free shipping the AT-PL120S turntable is a very worthy purchase.

3 out of 5 stars Cheap clone of the Technics sl1200.......2007-06-13

This turntable is not more than you pay for. It is a cheap copy of the Technics sl1200. But it is what I need for listening to my few aging LPs.

            5 out of 5 stars Excellent turntable.......2007-06-12

I couldn't be happier. This is a GREAT turntable. I bought it for my teenage son who wanted to rip music from our collection of vinyl. The turntable works great, looks very professional, operates flawlessly and the included software is very easy to use and does a great job. You won't go wrong with this turntable

4 out of 5 stars Great product for transferring vinyl.......2007-05-31

First the good parts. Within 2 hours of opening the box I had sucessfully transferred two rare jazz albums to cleaned up mp3 files. Once I got the turntable assembled and adjusted, I just plugged the included adapter cable into the "mic-in" socket on my HP laptop, opened Roxio sound editor and processed an album side at a time. Sound quality is great and the include preamp puts out a very usable level for the sound card input.

Aside from the great functionality, the unit has a very nice look and feel to it and will certainly complement any audio system.

The only negative comments are in regard to the instructions. It has been a while since I adjusted tone arm tracking and antiskid and the instructions were almost non-existent. The steps are all listed, but the diagrams are too small and not clear. I had the tone arm counter-weight on backwards before figuring out it couldn't be adjusted in that position. Having said that, if you read the instructions carefully and go slow one can assemble and adjust the unit ok.

I would definitely recommend this turntable to anyone who wants to transfer 33, 45 and 78 rpm vinyl to the computer or just wants a really nice turntable to play records on.

5 out of 5 stars Turn table Technica.......2007-05-10

I would not and have not been able to listen to my old records a life time of memories.
Had I wanted to replace them even if avaliable it would have been $ 800.00
            or better.
