If you have a home office, or office in your home, this phone is perfect for you. You can listen to voice mail from the speaker phone on the base unit or handset! Talking called ID lets you hear who is calling, without having to see the handset! Great range and a clear signal! Great value!

ABOUT AS RELIABLE AS A BLIND SURGEON!.......2007-04-17

OK, I'll admit it I've owned Panasonic 5.8 GHz phones for years so this is not my first one. They work great for about 12-18 mos and then the "planned obsolescent" time bomb goes off. The phone VERY often loses connectivity to the base which is 8 feet from the hand set. This means that I'll pick it up and the phone is dead. By now I've learned how to fix that which requires doing one OR more of the following: unplug the phone line, power it down for 10 seconds, remove the battery for ten seconds and with the application of each remedy, re-insert the phone into its cradle. It ain't the phone gang, it is the way they are made!! Not the worst product in the world but I hope I don't ever need to dial 911 on a day the phone loses connectivity with its base cause I'll be dead by them I get it to work again!

2 years after purchase, it's ok..........2007-03-12

Reception is an issue - it has an all day every day added "bonus" of picking up a local AM radio station which is always playing behind every call. There is no option to change to a different signal so it's quite annoying. Also picks up static from my little space heater. Otherwise it's been a typical Panasonic phone (had 3 previous to this one). Main complaint is the difficulty in turning off the talking caller ID - have to know the secret procedure once you turn it on. Speaker phone feature on the handset is quite nice and it's survived being dropped several times.

Great features, but VERY disappointed in the quality.......2006-12-28

We purchased these phones less than two years ago. As with everything, I sent in the warranty information so that they have our registration on record.
First, the positives:
We love the "talking caller ID" feature. I won't buy a phone without it. The reception is great, even in the basement or way back in the backyard. The speakerphone on the main base works great, too. These additional headsets are small and take up virtually no room, and they're sleek and streamlined, so they look good. The batteries have never died, and the phones stay charged for quite awhile off the charging base before needing re-charging.
However:
After about 15 months, the keypads began to fail. First, the number 1 went (the most common, I know). Then, it became difficult to dial other numbers, until finally one of the phones almost doesn't dial at all. After calling customer service, Panasonic would not replace the phone nor offer a replacement (or compensation, either). These phones weren't cheap, and we expected them to last more than they did for the price (and their minimal use - no one is home during the day). I would not recommend these phones in general because of their poor quality in comparison to the price. I am also disappointed in their customer service or failure to stand behind a product.
I've had better luck with cheaper phones.

Panasonic's KX-TG570B is a sleek 2.4 GHz SST cordless phone and answering machine combo. We were impressed with both the range and the voice quality of this phone, but the device suffers from a confusing design and a user interface that will stump anyone who doesn't keep the user manual around at all times.

The answering machine built into the base unit is all digital and can record up to 14 minutes worth of messages. You can retrieve and delete messages by using the handset, with which you can also turn the machine on and off. The handset itself is solidly built, with a rubber inlay on its side to provide a better grip and absorb shock if it's dropped. A three-line, high-resolution backlit LCD graces the front of the handset and displays all sorts of information, from caller-ID names and numbers to the menu items that comprise the phone's interface. This interface is the worst thing about the KX-TG2570B, as it's practically impossible to use without referring constantly to the manual. However, once mastered, it let us add our own phone directory to the unit and edit or delete Caller ID entries that automatically were added to the phone's database.

On the upside, the KX-TG570B's range and ability to penetrate walls blew away other 900 MHz cordless phones we've tested. With the base unit in a basement office (which in turn was in a brick building), we were able to leave the building and roam all over the parking lot with no loss in voice clarity. Additionally, the audio quality was superb as long as we stayed within range, with no hissing, popping, or other static present.

There are a few things about the KX-TG2570B that just don't make sense. You can answer incoming calls using the speakerphone in the base unit, but because it has no keys you can't place a call with it. The bay used to recharge the handset provides a loose fit, meaning the handset can easily tip forward and lose its electric connection. There's no mute button, and although the buttons on the handset are backlit, those on the base are not. This is a great-sounding phone with good range, but if you're looking for perfection, there are better options. --T. Byrl Baker

Not as bad as some say........2007-04-28

I got this phone back in 2001, and the only trouble after roughly six years is that I need a new battery. It is a bit worn looking though, but that's to be expected for the length of time I've had it. I have NOT been gentle with this phone, and it still works, which says a lot about the product.

Out-Of-Range and Out-Of-Patience.......2005-09-19

I too have fallen victim of the infamous "out of range" problem. I paid the extra bucks for this crummy thing because I didn't want the hassle of an inferior phone. It just goes to show - you don't always get what you pay for. In addition to this complaint, my other pet peeves about this phone are: 1) the fake silver coating rubs off the handset turning the once metalic-looking object into an wornout-looking piece of garbage with spots of cheap-looking plastic showing through; 2) the display screen gets all greasy from being pressed against your face, forcing you to wipe it off before/after every use; 3) the rubber protective strip below the ear piece rubs off on every surface you place it down on, producing black scuff marks all over the house.

Needless to say, my next phone will not be Panasonic.

I am a boy from CHINA!!!Many KX-TG2570S were exported from US as rubbishes and imported as treasures! EVERYONE here claims that the phone has "OUT OF RANGE" errors. But do you have your own way to solve it? You just send them back to Panasonic; you never want to solve this problem use some simple tips and your talented brains!!!I am a computer science major. While I programming, i always making many bugs, when the error first occuerd with me, i thought this error was also a bug and can be solved in a simple way, below:
STEP 1:Pour a cup of coffee and find a nice chair!
STEP 2:Getting your cordless phone in front of you!
STEP 3:Try several times by putting the handset back to the main and take it back, open the on/off button on the handset, make sure the display is "TALK";(This step is important, you must be patient to get the last result:the dailing TONE and the "TALK" message)
STEP 4:When STEP 3 was done, it is OK when you press on/off button on the handset without put it back to the main unit, this is what the bug begin, see STEP 5:
STEP 5:IF you put the handset back to the main with the handset in status:"off", when you take the handset next time, the error will occur in a high possibility(too high to be used), but if YOU PUT THE HANDSET BACK TO THE MAIN WITHOUT TURING THE HANDSET POWER OFF, THE ERROR WILL NEVER OCCURS(JUST THINK THE HANDSET DO NOT HAVE A ON/OFF SWITCH ADD PUT IT BACK IMMEDIATELY AFTER A CALLING)!!!BELIEVE IN ME!!!

bad phone.......2004-09-20

I came online to amazon.com to search for a new better phone and came accross this one. I already have it and it is the worst phone i have ever had. i've had it for about almost three years and i shouldn't have even kept it that long. The battery life is EXTREMELY short. i talk on the phone a lot and i cut almost all of my conversations short beacause the phone needs to be charged. BUYERS BEWARE!!!

I've had this phone for 4 years and I have just now started having the 'Out of Range' error. Yeah, it's definitely obnoxious, but I managed to get 4 years of use out of the unit before it croaked. Up until now it's been an excellent cordless phone. The range is fantastic, the handset is very durable (it's been dropped probably hundreds of times), the caller ID and speakerphone features work as advertised and I never experienced any interference from other cordless phones or other wireless hardware. I'm going to look into getting my unit repaired but if that turns out to be more hassle than it's worth I will definitely be purchasing another Panasonic product as a replacement.

Dissatisfied.......2004-01-23

I am very dissapointed with the transmitting and receiving range of the phone. The reception quality begins to degrade at about 25 feet. I can not use the phone at the opposite end of my small house! The voice quality is fair to good. I have been a die-hard Panasonic fan for years but after this and a seperate purchase of an unrelated Panasonic product (alarm clock) that I am dissapointed with, I am beginning to question all their products.

Nice features but major hiss.......2003-11-17

I bought this a few weeks ago and expected it to provide the same if not better quality than my old 900MHz Panasonic, which started dying prematurely after 3 years of little use, but I was surprised to find this phone to be worse than my old one. There's a constant loud hiss that can be heard when using the phone. I tested it against another 900MHz Panasonic at home and validated that it wasn't the phone line. In addition, the same loud hiss can be heard even with the intercom feature. I really like the built in lcd in the handset, which allows easy access to recently dialed numbers and a phone book but the quality of the call is more important to me than the features however nice they are; after all it is a phone! I'm not sure what to move on to now since it doesn't seem that manufacturers make 900Mhz anymore... oh well, the search continues.

I do like this phone when I am talking on it. Of course I am
getting a "expandable phone system" to replace this unit. I have
used this phone for several years.

Pros:
1. Good sound quality. Seems to be something Panasonic does well.
2. Good range. 2.4 GHz will interfere with wireless networks.
3. Durable outside construction.

Cons:
1. Buttons 2,5,6,8,9 require pushing very hard to work.
2. The LCD on the base unit always was unreadable but now is
failing.
3. Base unit is not very smart, must use the handset to set the
time!

Keypad problem.......2005-03-07

Had the phone for less than a year and the #1 button on the keypad now has problems accepting the finger press. I have to push down really hard and as a result will dial two 1's.

Virtually indestructible - Also waterproof and shockproof.......2005-01-29

This is a ruggedized phone, with bits of rubber bumpers and sealed electronics. Not sure why they don't mention this key feature, maybe people complained it is not waterproof enough. But you can use the headset in the shower, rinse it under water, drop it on the floor, etc. With "normal" use, it is virtually indestructible. With heavy use, expect to replace the battery about once a year.

I have owned this phone for more than a year and it is the best cordless I have owned. The audio quality and volume are great. The user interface is intuitive.

Piece of Junk.......2004-03-17

I bought this phone a year ago and I end up changing the battery already once. The battery was discharging so fast and recently I stopped using the handset completely. Eventhough I charge it whole night, it is not getting charged. The warranty service is also very bad. Fortunately I bought this phone using my Visa Platinum and they covered the full price. Thanks to Visa.
