The FM-2555 from Southwestern Bell is a corded phone with caller ID and call waiting compatibility, and several other useful features. The caller ID holds up to 64 numbers in its internal memory, which is easily accessible through the LCD on the base. A 13-number speed dial allows you to program the most frequently used numbers into the phone and dial them with the touch of a button. A speakerphone allows you to talk without having to cradle the handset, and a backlit keypad makes dialing in poorly lit environments a snap.

Handset and speakerphone controls allow you to adjust volume levels to your liking, while a ringer control lets you set the ringer to off, low, or high. A flash button provides access to call waiting, and a 32-digit redial allows you to quickly call the last outgoing number. Tone and pulse dialing modes are provided, and the menu can be set to one of three languages (English, French, or Spanish). Wall-mountable, the FM-2555 also comes backed with a one-year warranty on both parts and labor. (Caller ID and call waiting require a subscription to a fee-based services.)

Mission Impossible.......2006-07-26

The phone is fine but I sure wish I'd read the reviews before buying. I'm finding it impossible to find an ac adapter for it.
The plug where the adapter attaches to the phone is not a standard one - when I called Southwestern Bell they said I'd be able to find a universal adapter at BestBuy or similar store - but no luck so far. I guess the only other solution is to buy rechargeable batteries. Very frustrating.

Good phone, good quality but..........2004-11-17

The phone has lots of great features:
speakerphone, mute, redial, memory dial, caller ID, flah and
the sound quality is good.

However, the dial buttons are too close to each other so everytimne I have to stare at my phone when I dail otherwise I'd dial the wrong number. I guess you can get used to this after a while. The speakerphone button is small and the caller ID has an angle that is very hard to see. I had requested a desk mount from the manufactur and hopefully it'll help!

A Great Phone Held Down By Poor Cheap Cost Cutting..........2004-10-20

I had a SW Bell Answering machine for years so when I was in the market for a corded phone I choose this one for the price, the speaker phone and caller ID. The speaker phone runs off the phone line and doesn't need any outside power. Without the AC adapter to power the back light (Haven't seen it light up yet except for the speaker phone button), caller ID, and memory you're forced to use 3 AA batteries that'll give you about a week's worth of use before the batteries began affecting the phone's performance. You're looking at 12 batteries a month. This marketing ploy really kills an otherwise good phone. Is this the wave of the future when we buy items and equipment and not only are the batteries not included but also the AC adapter needed to power the thing!! The buttons for editing New Calls and erasing is tedious but that could be due to the batteries. If SW Bell is reading this do your customers a BIG favor and INCLUDE the adapter. Even if you have to raise the price of the phone to do it. I'll have to mail in for an AC Adapter or get a generic adapter that's 9 VDC at 200mA. I'm opting for the generic.

It Does't Work.......2004-09-26

You need to order an a/c adaptor for an additional $15.00. Without the adaptor, the display, call waiting and the speaker phone are useless.
