The Motorola MA561 cordless phone offers 5.8 GHz analog signal operation for clear calls and reliable operation. Call waiting/caller ID compatible, the MA561 is able to store up to 40 incoming names and numbers plus ten programmable speed dial locations for quick access to your most frequently dialed numbers. The base unit houses a digital answering system complete with easy-to-use controls and a message counter.

Basic call features are located in the MA561's handset, including last number redial, mute, hold, and more. A three-line backlit LCD shows all caller ID information and presents menu prompts in your choice of English, French, or Spanish. The phone also features a call timer, audible/visual low battery indicator, and a lighted handset keypad.

The MA561 is headset compatible (not included) and comes with a belt clip. It can be either desk or wall mounted and provides a rubberized grip on the sides of both base and handset to help prevent slippage and improve durability.

Phones okay like any other, but just okay, doesn't show missed calls.

We returned the phone after using it for only one day, due to the atrocious voice quality. Callers on the other end of the line could only be heard properly if the volume was turned all the way up, but at full volume you hear your own voice magnified. The range of the phone was also poor, on every channel. To top it off, our answering machine message sounded like we were speaking with our hands over our mouths while we recorded it. Not recommended.

Disapointing after 2 years.......2007-04-05

Shouldn't things last longer? How long have we been making telephones? I was happy with my my Motorolla phone for the first year. I didn't use it a lot (my cell phone is my primary number) though used the Motorolla for local calls and to screen calls from mortgage broakers, etc. After about a year, the keypad started going out (intermittently), it's gotten so bad that I can no longer use it to dial out. Just recently, there is an aweful static in the handset- it's junk now. If Motorolla can make a tiny cell phone that stands up to daily wear and tear you'd think making a big, clunky, old-tech, landline cordless would be no problem and it would last...

I was a little reluctant buying this phone because of the price. I have never had much luck with low priced phones, so I bought a high-end GE with a high-end cost. I hated everything about that phone from day-one and only lasted 3 years before the buttons started to fail and couldn't make calls. Enough about the crappy GE. Let's talk about the Motorola...

I decided to take a chance on the Motorola MA561 because Motorola seems to be a good product for me, from cell phones to walkie-talkies. This phone is NO exeption. Easy to set up, easy on the eyes, easy on the wallet, and the clarity is awesome!! I highly recommend this phone!!

I have to admit that the person who said the wall mount was awkward is right. Don't buy this if you intend to mount it on the wall. I have an old vintage rotary phone hanging on the wall, and it will stay there in case the electricity goes out. Plus it looks cool.
