The Uniden TRU8885 is a digital 5.8 GHz expandable cordless phone system with caller ID/call waiting, dual keypads, and a digital answering machine. This expandable system allows you to put an extra phone anywhere in the home or office. The system can be expanded to a total of 10 handsets (model TCX800). You can dial from the base or handset, and the handset also has a speakerphone for hands-free use.

The digital answering system ensures that you will not miss any important messages. IntegriSound provides lifelike audio, and the handsets can be used as an intercom, as well (if you have more than one). DirectLink allows the handsets to be used as a two-way radio. A 100-number memory is shared between caller ID and the phonebook directory. You can transfer handset memory between units to reduce programming time. This phone features 20 ring-tone options and supports distinctive ring.

  I LOVE THIS PHONE! I have had this system in my home for almost two years now. The quality of the reception and speaker phone is second to none. I used to be able to cover up the handset and actually make comments without them being heard. Not with this phone. Your caller can hear pretty much anything that's going on in the room, including if you're chewing something. The mute button is used quite a bit here. I love the privacy features, where you can block others from eavesdropping on the other phones. I have recommended this phone to several people. I've never had a better phone.
  
  The only complaint, there is a significant reduction in talk time on a couple of the handsets. I imagine I'll need to purchase batteries.
  
  Other than that, this is an excellent phone and well worth the cost.

  THIS IS ONE FANTASTIC PHONE..... IT DOES EVERYTHING BUT SPEAK FOR YOU.. IT IS A PHONE I TRULY RECOMMEND FOR SOMEONE WHO WOULD LIKE A SMALL, COMPACT PHONE THAT IS EASY TO OPERATE.. AND IT IS NICE AND SMALL AND COMPACT, DOES NOT TAKE UP THE ROOM LIKE OTHER PHONES DO.. THE PHONE AND THE SELLER ARE RECOMMEND HIGHLY..

  I purchased this phone with the idea in mind that I would increase the talking distance over my old 2.4 GHZ, wrong no different, still 50' is the best I can do, my old analog phone could go clear across the street and much clearer, digital phones are poor for different frequncies to transmit.

  I already had several Uniden individual 5.8 handsets, but needed a base unit to use as my desk phone. This is
  a very good unit - good sound, good features, nice screen display and doesn't take up much space. Most callers can't tell I'm on a speakerphone. I'd buy this again in a minute. Put a piece of sticky pad underneath and it's even better.
