VTech t2426 2.4 GHz Analog Cordless Phone with Caller ID

Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description
Perfect for an alcove, end table, bookshelf, or countertop, the compact, upright VTech t2426 offers high-frequency 2.4 GHz analog transmission, which provides greater range and less chance of interference than you'd get with the standard 900 MHz band. Also enjoy an alphanumeric 99-name and number call waiting/caller ID display (caller ID requires paid service from your phone company) and a 50-name and number phonebook directory.

Any-key answer saves time in answering when you're in danger of missing a call, and the phone's visual message waiting indication (VMWI) alerts you to new messages (with paid voicemail service). Tired of hunting for the handset? A handy page/handset locator ensures that you'll never waste another minute tracking it down.

The phone's programmable ringer lets you customize its sound, while 30-channel operation further reduces the phone's chances of encountering transmission interference. The stylish t2426 can be used with standard 2.5 mm headsets, and it comes with its own battery, which charges in the base unit. VTech's special power-saving circuitry also extends usage between charges.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Superior VTech product compared to other models.......2007-01-03

This phone's quality, while not being perfect, is good. I did not experience any of the other problems listed here in previous reviews.

Voice is clear, loud, and understandable. Also, the keys function well. On a newer VTech phone I own, I often have to press a number key maybe 10 times to get the tone. Not on this phone, however.

If you aren't wanting to spend a lot of money on a cordless phone, get this one. It's good, plus it works with Vonage (Even the caller ID!!).

1 out of 5 stars 2.4 ghz phone with tin can phone quality.......2004-09-24

I bought this phone as part of my college shopping rush, and am largely regretting it now. The sound quality is abysmal, often to the point where I have to ask 'what' several times to be able to comprehend a single phrase the other person is saying. Also, the plastic covering the earpiece clicks when pressure from the ear is applied to it, which gets very annoying over time. Furthermore, having taken the phone apart, I found that the trendy little antenna on the handset serves absolutely no purpose, it being no more than a little plastic molded piece that connects nowhere to the actual workings of the phone. Avoid this phone at all costs.

3 out of 5 stars Good, but certianly not the best.......2004-09-16

I have long enjoyed the inexpensive VTech phones and knew exactly what brand of phone I was going to get when I needed a cordless phone for my dorm room. The phone is loaded with good features ranging from distinctive ringing with Caller ID to a directory that is programmed and accessible using the screen on the phone. Unfortunately, the call quality does not live up to expectations and is the only thing I dislike about the phone. All the calls are consistently full of a low static background that isn't too bad, but is always there. The people I have asked said that the call quality on their end is good, so I blame the phone just on the receiving end. However, the range is very good for a phone of this price and the battery has not been a problem yet, though I haven't had any calls of over an hour and 15 minutes to test it with. Overall, if you want the features this phone offers in a very inexpensive design, go for this model. But if call quality is much more important than having Caller ID, steer clear of this design and look for something better.

1 out of 5 stars "Sorry, I'll have to call you back later.".......2004-07-20

Without doubt, this phone is the most pathetic, depressing and frustrating piece of electrical equipment I have ever purchased. After about 3 months of using it, the batter life went from several hours down to 30 minutes. Yes, THIRTY minutes. Which makes it the most unusable and horrible P O S phone I've ever seen. Shame on the kid right out of design school who thought up this one. And please, vtech phones might look nice, but... well, you know how the saying goes. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!!

2 out of 5 stars doesn't hold up through normal wear and tear..........2004-03-16

I completely admit that I dropped the phone once. It fell off a kitchen table -- not down a flight of stairs. I can no longer hear from the ear piece, but the caller can hear me. I can now only use the phone with my headset. Like I said, I admit I dropped the phone, but one fall shouldn't have done that much damage. The phone is only 5 months old and I'm already shopping for a new one.
