VTech tz2526 2.4 GHz Cordless Phone with TeleZapper and Caller ID

Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description
If you're continually bothered by unwanted calls from telemarketers, consider VTech's TZ2526, which adds TeleZapping technology to make your dinner hour far more peaceful. It actually disconnects most computer-generated calls and helps reduce the number of calls over time.

Given that more than 90 percent of telemarketing calls are placed with computer assistance, when either you or your answering machine answers the phone, the phone's built-in TeleZapper emits a special tone that tells the computer your number has been permanently disconnected. Telemarketing companies that use automated dialing systems typically remove disconnected numbers from their calling lists, and as your phone number is eliminated from more and more telemarketing lists, you'll notice fewer calls. Of course, not all telemarketers use predictive dialing systems, and those that do will undoubtedly continue their work to evade the TeleZapper, but it can be a partial solution.

The TZ2526's 2.4 GHz signal supplies a clean, consistent connection among 30 analog channels. With subscription to local service, caller ID can track the names and numbers of up to 99 calls. Return those calls at the touch of button, or store the number in your 50-station permanent phone book directory. VTech provides a one-year warranty.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Telezapper is good, but phone is average.......2007-01-21

I've not had problems with the battery as other users have indicated, but I do have issues taking this phone to the other levels of my home. Our home is three floors, and when I go to other floors or to the front and back decks, the phone gets a lot of static. Our 900 mhz phones get better range than this 2.4 GHZ. I do like the Telezapper feature; it is quite nice because it does work. Of course, the best thing is to register on the do not call government registry.

I do like the keypad on it, but if the keys lit up, I would like it more.

1 out of 5 stars Bad.......2005-08-12

It's hard to hear, and if you turn it up, it gets feedback. The battery goes dead after 10 minutes of talking, and it gets worse, it beeps for the last 5 of those minutes.

1 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy This Phone.......2004-06-10

While all of the basic features of this phone work fairly well, the most important feature - the battery life - is awful. You will notice that under Product Details, the battery life information is "unavailable". This is telling!!!
Even after this phone is fully charged, I am only able to talk for about 45 minutes before the battery goes dead.

Whatever the price for this phone, it is not worth buying!
