I've had mine for almost 2 years now and love it. I've noticed a few people complaining about an EEPROM ERROR after a lightning storm. i recently experienced that as well. just unplug it and take the batteries out for 10 minutes, plug it back in, put the batteries back in and reset the memory per the manual and all should be fine!

Olympia OL3000 - Cool Caller ID Station!.......2007-06-20

I would give it a 5 (I'm a gadget geek) if it weren't for the poor longevity of the item. I have had two of these and would buy another even though the displays give out after six to nine months of continual use. The second one I turned off whenever I wasn't around, but still lost it. VERY COOL item, though!

Works as advertised...but is a bit noisy.......2007-02-12

I saw this in a retail store and was intrigued. I needed a way to see who was calling me easily and this little guy seemed to do just that, as well as keep time, etc.

Unfortunately, in the relatively quiet environment of my office, it's noisy - distractingly so. There is a spinning LED that makes a whirring noise that will get on your nerves after ahile if it's anywhere closer than about 7-10 feet from you. Ultimately, I unplugged it and will probably give it to a teenager I know who could care less about the noise.

Bottom line? As long as the noise doesn't bother you, it's a cool little device.

Pros: fun, easy to read from across the room even at night, nice customizable messages and auto on/off

Cons: wears out quickly (buttons stopped working on mine after about a year); rotational noise/vibration is very noticeable

Below Average Quality - but I got TWO free replacements!.......2006-11-14

We purchased one originally on 11/14/05, it started with the funky, jumbled, letters, numbers, signs, etc within 6-7 months. I took it back to the Discovery Channel store where they gladly replaced it. The new one lasted even less time, and given that they didn't issue me a refund/new receipt from the first return (my mistake for not insisting) I could only show the one initial purchase from 11/14/05. They refused an exchange or refund even though I was within the one year warranty period. However, I did call the 866-537-0384 Wave Customer Service number upon arriving home and they mailed me a new one! Didn't even ask for proof of purchase! Even though the product is not well made, they have EXCELLENT customer service!!
