The phone works great. I have 2 lines. A traditional land line, and a voip line. The voip line is on line1 and the traditional on line2. I've not had single problem with it. It doesn't seem to be having an adverse affect on my other wireless gadgets (router and bluetooth), which I know is concern for some people. The phone has worked out of the box perfectly since day one, but I did spend quite a bit of time narrowing it down.

The "custom banner" feature seemed needless at first, but actually turned out to be quite useful for redial purposes, when trying to determine which handset I used to make a call, or simply to return the correct handset to its place.

It's been very sturdy. I've dropped or knocked it over it countless times, and there hasn't been a scratch, crack or change in audible quality or reception.

The only cons (which some might consider a plus) that I can think of:
1) lack of automatically shared address book. Contacts I update on one handset aren't automatically updated on all handsets. The same is true for redial. although entries can be manually "pushed" to other handsets. (individually, or all at once).
2) not quite enough redial entries. only 3

I've been using this system with 10 handsets for a year now, without problems. We use many of the features: 2-line phone, caller id, phonebook, intercom. Range is reasonable over 4 levels from one end of the house to the other, with a few exceptions on the fringes.

Overall I've been VERY pleased with this system and can highly recommend it.

Good and compact phone.......2007-02-24

Great unit...very strong signal throughout 2400 sq foot house and outside, well made and easy to use. Only downside is the buttons are a bit small. If that's not an issue for you, I strongly recommend.

Probems that Uniden aren't concerned about . . . .......2007-01-07

1. The phones light up immediately and CID comes over on the callers second ring. But none of the phones ring on my end until the 3rd ring for the caller. So my second ring is their 5th and they hang up, if not go to voicemail.
2. When on one line and a call comes in on the other, the line that you are on cuts out with each ring.

I called Uniden as per the retailer and it took them over 30 days to get back to me, even after repeated calls. That blew my ability to take the system back to the retailer. Then once I got someone at Uniden they basically said tough and that they just supply the phones and to take it back if I was not happy. Well because of Uniden it was too late.

I work with a very large telecommunications company that "use to" use Uniden cordless units in their systems. Because of this incident and the fact that I was the final say, we now use other brands of gear. You blew it Uniden to the tune of millions. I will never buy another Uniden product.

Problems with Call ID and Voicemail indicator.......2006-11-22

I was hesitant to purchase another Uniden phone, but my favorite manufacture, Panasonic, does not make a phone that has all the features I need. I have 2 voice over Internet (VoIP) lines with voicemail. This phone has problems detecting voice mail from either company I use no matter which voice mail detect setting is used on the phone. I don't have this problem with my other phones. It also will not ring if you happen to be using line 2 when a call comes in on line 1 (though it works the other way). I guess the voice quality is good, I didn't really use it that much other than testing.

The ringer on the base station has three settings: really loud, loud and off. Every time you push a button on the base station it makes a loud confirmation beep. There is no way to turn it off on the base, luckily you can on the cordless handset.

Disclaimer: No, I didn't call the Uniden help line. I felt that there were too many problems to work through that it would take for ever. These problems may be my own.
