The Panasonic KX-TG2247S offer Voice Enhancer Technology that helps clarify and improve sound reception creating a natural-sounding voice that is easy to hear and understand. It is able to simulate a bandwidth signal above and below the normal bandwidth limitations, achieving a sound which is close to the actual voice.

An all-digital answering system with an advanced microchip records up to 15 minutes of messages and makes retrieval easy. You can slow down the playback speed of messages by 30% to hear them with additional clarity. With call screening, you can use the monitor speaker to listen to incoming messages while they are being recorded.

The 30-station caller ID memory and dialer let you return missed calls or program your 30 most important phone numbers to dial them quickly and easily. A two-way intercom lets you communicate and page between the handset and the base. Six selectable ring tones personalize your ringer to alert you when there is an incoming call.

Additional features include reversible handset charging so that you can place the handset in the base with the keypad facing up or down to charge the battery. You can mount the base on the wall and keep it in a convenient location anywhere in the house, thereby freeing up counter or table space.

Caller IQ compatibility means that if you are registered with openLCR (an optional service), the following features may be available and are compatible with the phone (where available):

Information download--Get local lottery results, weather forecasts and stock market trading information
Phone directory download--Go to the openLCR web page and you can easily type in your most frequently called names and numbers using you computer keyboard, then directly download them into your handset
Low cost routing service--Automatically searches for a low cost long distance carrier to help save you money on your long distance bill

i love this phone..........2007-03-23

I have owned this phone for a few years and have experienced no problems with it (I have talked 4+ hours on this phone w/o any battery problems). My only qualm is, I wish I could purchase an additional handset exclusive of the phone because my toddler 'put away the phone' and we have yet to locate it---I would definately purchase this model again.

After dealing with panasonic for over a year regarding the short battery life (1 hour at most) I have finally gotten somewhere thanks to Jon's review. I wrote to panasonic after my friend returned her phone to them and it was repaired. I asked them if knew they about the problem with this phone, why weren't they letting people know? They refused to provide any help and said if I was still in warrantly I could return it. Otherwise, I was out of luck. Panasonic was certainly aware of the problem with this phone, but clearly refused to publicly accept responsiblity or issue a recall. Thankfully, with a post it note, I have been able to solve the battery problem that has been plaguing me since I purchased this phone. If you own this phone, try Jon's suggestion it works!

Problems I have had with this phone:

Display on the phone randomly stops working and I either have to take out and replace the battery (which then results in a drained charge) or keep replacing on the charger until it come back. Either way it's a huge inconvenience.

Reception is unpredictable at best. Sometimes it comes in great and sometimes it comes in lousy... kind of something I would expect in a cordless, although with a 2.4ghz I expected better... but really it doesn't seem like the cordless technology has made any leaps and bounds in the last 10+ years.

If I place it on the table in speaker mode and don't place extremely gentle the phone shuts off.

Features are ok.... it's kind of a pain to delete calls in the caller ID.

Not the best phone I coudl have spent the money on. Now that I have had it a while I wish I had done a little more research, since this was an impulse buy.

Like every one else says, it won't hold a charge at all. It also has problems answering while it's ringing. Additionally calls are filled with static when near a microwave.

This phone has some greate features. The only problem is that you cannot make use of them if the phone does not work. This phone will not hold charge. I leave it in the charger all night, make one 15 minute call and then it either just dies or the battery shows that there is no charge left, and this is with a new battery. The other thing that I noticed while troubleshoting is that if you remove a fully charged battery, and then place it back in to the phone... it shows as almost completely empty.... like I said it would be a great phone, but there is something very wrong with this design.
