Panasonic KX-TG2352W 2.4 GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone System

Product Description

From the Manufacturer
The KX-TG2382's 2.4 GHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology randomly changes frequencies several times per second, which helps to eliminate cross-talk and accidental eavesdropping when multiple handsets are in use. The phone comes with two handsets, one base unit, and one charger. A third handset can be purchased separately and instantly incorporated into the system.

With call waiting/caller ID (which requires subscription to fee-based phone company services) and 30-station memory, the LCD displays the name and number of incoming callers even when you're on another call. The three-line, multifunction LCD lets you see all caller ID information without scrolling. Also, back lighting on the handset LCD aids visibility in low light situations. A digital handset speakerphone helps reduce the echo and dropout commonly found in speakerphones. Up to 30 names and telephone numbers can be stored alphabetically and quickly accessed for dialing via the handset's navigator key.

Using three-way conferencing you can connect two other calls for a three-party conference right from the handset. Six selectable ring tones let you choose from a variety of alerts for incoming calls. A low-battery indicator on the LCD lets you know when its time to recharge the battery and a two-way intercom lets you contact any other extension in the system at the push of a button at the base unit of one of the handsets.

Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars Quality not a strong point.......2005-11-20

Seems like a decent phone, but has problems that drive me crazy. It loses connection with the base constantly. Even when I'm next to the base. I go through times when the phone just doesn't work... I unplug & replug everything in, trying to get a signal to the handset. It makes weird cutting in and out noises. I've had it for over a year and am buying a new phone, different brand.

1 out of 5 stars NO answering machine, as implied by description!.......2005-01-09

Upon pulling the phone out of the box, I was shocked to find that this phone system does NOT have an answering machine! I had to go back through my research to figure out that the "VOICE MAIL MESSAGE INDICATOR LIGHT" that was listed in the product descriptions is not synonymous with the phone having an answering machine. You have to sign up for an AT&T answering service that you pay for separately as part of your phone bill!!! The product descriptions could be clearer on this point.

1 out of 5 stars Junk.......2004-11-16

One of the more important features I was looking for was Call Waiting/CallerID. Well, the phone has been repaired THREE times by Panasonc and the feature still doesn't work. I confirmed numerous times that this feature was turned on through the phone company. I also tested the line with a different phone, and the Call Waiting/CallerID feature IS turned on but the Panasonic phone doesn't agree!

1 out of 5 stars It was a good phone while it lasted........2004-05-25

I bought this phone through Amazon on March 30, 2004 based on the good reviews I read here. The phone worked until May 23, 2004 when it brought down my phone line and I had to have the phone company out to solve the problem. The phone line has been fixed, but the phone is hosed. I use this for my work, so it is a huge inconvenience. I hope Panasonic stands by their product.

5 out of 5 stars Very Good Phone.......2004-05-15

I bought this phone a couple of months ago and have been very happy with it. The caller ID is easy to read with larger print than my last caller ID cordless phone (a Sony). Reception and range are excellent. There is a speakerphone on each handset. The two handsets can also be used like an intercom or walkie-talkies inside or outside the house. There are also handset locator buttons on the base, for each handset, and a button for a third handset if you choose to order it. You can push the buttons individually, or locate all two or three handsets at the same time, with another larger silver button on the base.

You have 6 ring styles to choose from. There is a directory where you can add numbers from your caller ID list, or add your own names and numbers. Two belt clips come with the package, and you can use an optional headset (ordering instructions in the owner's manual). The phone also has flash/call waiting capability. The volume has a good range. There is green backlighting on the number keys and caller ID screen.

I like the white color of the phone except for one thing - it gets dirty and shows it more than my last cordless phone which was gray. The base can be wall-mounted or sit on a flat surface. The second handset has a charger that can be plugged in to any electrical outlet in your home - no need for a phone jack.

I charge my cordless phones every night, including this one, so I will never know how faint the warning beep is, as another reviewer complained about. I charged my phone the required 15 hours when it was first set up, and charge every night.

Highly recommend.
