The Uniden TRU3455 features 2.4 GHz Digital Spread Spectrum technology with 35-channel autoscan and a full-featured integrated answering device. Also enjoy the benefits of 20-number memory dialing, (10 on the handset and 10 on the base), tone/pulse dialing, handset volume control, 32-digit redial, dual keypad operation, page/intercom, AutoTalk, AutoStandby, and hearing-aid compatibility. The battery is rated for six hours of talk time and 10 days of standby.

TRU3455 features include AutoTalk and Auto Standby. AutoTalk allows you to answer a call by just removing the handset from the base, so you don't have to waste time pushing buttons or flipping switches. AutoStandby allows you to hang up by simply returning the handset to the base.

To protect you against misbilled calls which might result from your phone being activated by other equipment, the TRU3455 has Random Code digital security, which automatically selects one of 65,000 digital security codes for the handset and base. Also, the AutoSecure feature electronically locks your phone when the handset is in the base.

Uniden's DCT 648-3 comes with a number of useful features, including two extra handsets with their own charging cradles, expandability (one additional DCX640, sold separately), and an all-digital answering machine. Ideal for any large home, this stylish phone set allows you to place handsets in multiple locations so you never miss a call.

Caller ID/call waiting compatible, the DCT 648-3 can store up to 100 incoming numbers, while the display-and-dial feature lets you easily scroll through the list of calls and dial with the touch of a button. An autoscan feature automatically detects the best channel available, and handset and ringer volume controls allow you to easily adjust the phone's settings to your liking.

The DCT 648-3 is headset compatible (a belt clip is provided for hands-free operation), while a room/baby monitoring setting lets you hear audio from another handset location. A page button on the base makes finding a lost handset quick and painless, and the menu-driven handset LCD makes operation easy. A redial button lets you easily call one of the last three outgoing numbers, and both tone and pulse dialing modes are provided in case you need to switch to one or the other.

With the auto-talk feature turned on, you can answer calls simply by removing the phone from its cradle, and the flash/talk button lets you switch to an incoming call (requires subscription to a fee-based service) and put the current conversation on hold. A handset-to-handset call transfer function is provided, as is a memory location transfer feature. With four-way conferencing (two handsets plus base plus outside call), multiple users can easily converse, and the intercom feature lets you communicate with another handset location.

The digital answering system features full remote operation, allowing you to check messages while away from the home or office. Voice prompts help guide you through setup, while play/stop, skip, delete, and repeat keys help you navigate through your messages. A memo record feature is provided, and the conversation record feature lets you record important conversations or information such as driving directions.

Twenty distinctive ringer options are provided, and a visual voicemail indicator on the base lets you know when you have message waiting. Wall mountable, the DCT 648-3 also comes with both a handset and base speakerphone. It is backed by a one-year warranty on both parts and labor.

I bought this set for two friends over the holidays and they love them! I've used theirs many times and was impressed so I bought a set for myself. I have recommended it to many other friends since then. The amount of features in this set go on and on. Besides being a cordless phone it can also be used as a Room/Baby monitor as well as two-way radios away from home. You can also use the handsets as an intercom system in your home or to transfer the phone call between handsets. Most options are programable from any handset and you can listen/clear your messages from any handset. You can also copy your phonebook between handsets. And a handy little feature when you want to be left alone... one touch "Do Not Disturb" that will prevent any handset from ringing with an incoming call. This is just a few of the things that impressed me. The only thing that I noticed that may be a problem is that sometimes the caller sounds a little muffled. I'm not sure if that is a problem with this phone system or not tho.

What Can I Say?!.......2007-05-31

Purchased the phones because I wanted a different look and more features than what my old Vtech offered. The feature I required was the "Do Not Disturb" (DND). I hate hearing phones ring all over the house! So having the ability to turn off the ringer is great, also. The feature that I enjoy the most is the selectable ringtones, which can be assigned to callers - nice!

While small in stature, the isn't a gawdy piece of furniture - it blends perfectly. The orange display is great - no squinting here. Lastly, being able to access the voicemail from any phone is wonderful. For me, this a great phone to have. Thank you.

Best residential phone I've ever had..........2007-05-13

My first cordless, right out of college, freshly married and walking the aisles at Best Buy...was an old Uniden 900-Mega hertz. It was the best and we used it for years. It lasted longer than my marriage! :-) I then tried a Sony and a V-tech, a blond and a red-head too... but, for a phone, I'm right back with Uniden. Superior clarity, long-range coverage and a very good price. Highly recommend. Will update this when I find a sweet girl as fine as this phone! =-)

I was going to buy this phone at Target, but they were all out, so I ordered it from Amazon. I received it quickly and was up and calling within 24 hours. I am happy with the reception and overall performance of the product. When I am on the far side of my house, I do experience some static, but it's much better than my prior Uniden 900mhz set.

This is my first Uniden phone and I have to say it's great, easy setup, except for the part of language, my native language is Spanish, when you are configuring the main unit, you can listen the instruction by the machine but the last item to configure is the language, so after you configure all you can listen in another language than english. That`s important just for the non-english user.

The signal is nice, i Tried like 100 mts far and still can speak fine, even when you live some floors up.

The handsets look very nice, the lcd screen is clear but th ID Call show the number calling just in the first ring, after that show just "Incoming Call".

Buy this item with confidence it pay every cent and more.

Excellent Solution.......2007-03-08

I replaced a Panasonic phone and various other phones in my house with just this one system. I purchased an additional handset and now I have one central solution. Reception is great and the quality is first rate. I was hesitant to purchase a 2.5 GHz system for fear of it interfering with my home wi-fi set up, but I have had no issues at all. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with this system.

The best feature of this answering machine? It doesn't record junk phone calls. Otherwise, it is your run-of-the-mill answering machine. It answers calls and records messages. That is exactly what we wanted it to do and it does it.

We've used two high-end Panasonic phones over the last few years and they have been fantastic from a feature-set and quality viewpoint, but their reliability has been suspect. This Uniden phone is cheap, but is a great budget phone that we wholeheartedly recommend. It works well with a VOIP set-up.

I have had NO problems with this unit whatsoever! The phone works great, with no static or other audio problems. People's voices come through loud and clear, with excellent audio quality, on both the phone itself and the answering machine/base unit. Range is excellent as well, and I have NO issues using the phone everywhere inside our 3 level house, and outside on the patio and in the driveway. Perhaps Uniden has made the latest version of this model to perform better than the older ones, given the one bad review below. Or maybe the reviewer was recieving external interference from other electronics in his house. In any case, this is a feature-rich, quality unit for an unheard of low price brand new! Buy this one with confidence.

Avoid this product if you can...........2005-11-06

I bought it as a replacement for the broken 5-years old IBM branded 2.4GHz cordless phone. It's is a total disappointment. The phone is placed in the same position as the old one. However, when making or receiving a call, all you can hear is noise and static. This really puzzled me, why a 5 years old phone can handle the RF interference much better?

I tried to move the base around, it does improve the quality of the call, but noise still comes up when I stand in front of windows or under a door frame. My 1 bedroom apartment room is not big at all, image what could happen when this phone is used in a house.

Bottom line - try to avoid it if you can.

Very Disapointed!.......2007-03-19

We got this phone a couple of months ago and are still not able to use it at all. Originally, we could not hear anything from this phone at all. Now only faint voice can be heard, but the only end still has no sound at all.

I spend hours reading the manual, but still can not make it work for us. Maybe it is a malfunctioning one. I would definitly NOT buy any Uniden products in the future.

Does not stand the test of time.......2007-03-02

When we first received these phones they were pretty good - the range is short but we could deal with that. After a few weeks the sound quality started to really decline (echos, breaking up, and static.). After 8 months the caller ID does not function on one handset and the sound quality on the other handset is so bad as to make it unusable.
The small size at first was cute but after awhile is very annoying and uncomfortable. I just ordered a panasonic set and can't wait to trash this set. I have been a loyal fan of uniden for many years but this product has shaken my confidence in there recent quality or lack there of.

This is a really good phone! Love the size and the handsfree features on each phone AND the base. Our last phone did not have that feature on the base and if the phone rang and we could not locate the handsets we could not answer the phone. Now we can! Little Quality with Lots of Options.......2007-02-06

We were sold on the many options this phone has; however, we probably won't even be keeping it on account of the low quality.
The handsets are as small as my cell phone, very hard to hold, especially if I'm doing something & am relying on leaning it on my shoulder.
There is an echo half the time during my conversations. Sometimes it is like a 1-way radio, in that when I'm talking, I can't hear the other person (or even their background).
We're quite disappointed.

With a complete set of high performance features and expandable functionality, the Uniden DCT7585-2 offers a full set of convenient options for busy homes. Call Waiting Caller ID includes a 100-station memory (with subscription to local service) that allows names and numbers to be transferred between handsets or moved into the permanent 10-station speed dial. DirectLink two-way radio communication is built into each handset, allowing them to function as an in-home intercom system or baby monitor. Redial any of the last three numbers at the touch of a button, activate three-way calls or just enjoy the consistent, clear 2.4 GHz digital signal transmission.

The system is expandable with up to four handsets; two are included in the package in addition to the base's digital speakerphone and keypad. You can transfer incoming calls between each handset and speakerphone on the base, and make use of the convenient hands-free design by using the included belt clip and built-in headset jack (headsets available separately). Easily adjust handset and ringer volume levels to your comfort, and set the handset LCD menu to one of three menu languages (English, French, or Spanish). Defective Product- TWICE.......2006-11-01

I got a defective unit, so I called Uniden customer service. I've never been treated more rudely by customer "service" in my life. They refused to help me without my home phone number (I don't give it out- that's why it's called "unlisted") and they bascially told me it was *my* fault that the phone wouldn't even power on. (even though I'd charged it for 24 hours).

Then I called the seller- what a different experience. WestCoastMall.net was professional and courteous. They quickly provided and RMA, and exchanged the unit. Unfortunately the new unit was also defective. When I called for the second RMA, they told me they'd had a very high number of these units coming back as defective. No surprise- if Uniden's QA department is run by the same folks as their Customer Service, I'm not shocked in the least.

I was really disappointed, because on paper this looks like a great product- it has all the features I wanted: small enough to wear on my belt (with a headset), but also has caller ID and speakerphone. Too bad they can't actually deliver a working product.

Short version: Stay away from Uniden.

I bought this system when it first came out and never have I spent more on a phone. I bought the DMX778 plus 2 of the satellite units. The caller ID has NEVER worked, and customer service NEVER helped. They were very adept at giving me the run-around though. The quality is so poor that whomever I am speaking with gets static. No matter how I adjust the sound, I can never hear very well either. This 2.4 GHz unit often says I have no service due to being out of range RIGHT NEAR THE BASE UNIT. The outgoing greeting on the answering system sounds fine, but all incoming messages are INAUDIBLE. I have had many Unidens and always loved them. I'll try to dig up my 900 MHz as it always worked better than this expensive system (still, these many years later). These are really pieces of poo-poo.
