With the Uniden EXI-2246, you'll enjoy 2.4 GHz extended range. Caller ID/call waiting (requires a telephone company service subscription) stores up to 30 caller ID memory locations. Ten speed-dial presets are accessible via the One Touch RocketDial--a one-touch speed dial key that automatically dials your most important or frequently called number.

Additional features include English or French menu, speaker and ringer volume control, last number redial, seven-hour continuous talk time, 14-day long-life battery, pulse/tone dialing, and handset locator. An autoscan system monitors multiple channels and automatically selects the best channel for crystal-clear transmission.

This phone is headset compatible and comes with a belt clip. It meets all the requirements for compatibility of inductively coupled hearing aids. The desk or wall mountability saves space and charges in two positions, horizontally on a desk or in the hanging position.

Very poor reception.......2004-01-23

Good battery life, nice caller ID features, but I've had such difficulty with the reception I couldn't possibly reccommend this phone. As some the other reviews have mentioned, I get constant static almost everywhere in my home. Maybe you'll have better luck in your home, but beware.

The features are great, reception good but the power supply went out after 9 months.

The only reason this phone is getting a single star is because of its features (i.e. caller id). However, in terms of reception, this phone is inferior to any other phone I have ever used. It's clarity is even sometimes worse than my cell phone. I have nearly constant static even when I'm standing virtually on top of the base. Stay far, far away from this phone.

Nice feel, bad reception.......2002-09-07

I love the feel of this phone, but the reception stinks. I got static on the phone not more than 20 feet away from it. Get a phone with DSS (Digital Spread Spectrum) and stay away from the non-spread spectrum phones like this one and the Uniden EXI-376 (900MHz)

Great quality for the price.......2002-06-21

I shopped around for a low-cost cordless phone for weeks. This was the third unit I actually bought and brought home to try. It is a great unit! It the features I needed: caller ID and the 2.4 GHz. Calls are crystal clear. The handset sits well on your shoulder, for those "no hands" moments. The coolest feature is how the handset sits in the cradle with its screen showing, so you don't even have to lift the handset to see who is calling. In all, this phone is very much worth its cost.
