Product Description

The PLANTRONICS MX150 Mobile Headset combines unique Flex Grip design with advanced microphone technology, resulting in a discreet, stable, comfortable headset with superior sound quality.

Amazon.com Product Description

The Plantronics MX150 noise-canceling mobile headset combines the company's proprietary Flex Grip design with advanced microphone technology to deliver a discreet, stable, and high-quality headset. The MX150 is compatible with most headset-ready mobile devices, including models made by Motorola, Samsung, LG, and Kyocera.

The headset's bendable noise-canceling boom mic is designed to provide an optimal fit and high clarity just about anywhere, and the headset's Flex Grip design permits one-handed placement in your ear.

One-touch call answer/end and voice-activated dialing are available for most popular Nokia and Motorola phones, though be aware that voice-activated dialing must be supported by your phone or service for this feature.

The headset uses a standard 2.5 mm input in an L-shaped configuration that limits wear and tear.

5 out of 5 stars I Love This Headset.......2007-07-07

I do love it. I previously had an over-the-head type. It got tangled up in my hair all the time. I was looking for something strictly earpiece.

I bought this for our Uniden DCT646-3 cordless phone set. It works great on my phone. I know it looks weird. In fact, my DH said it looked uncomfortable. Not at all. It does take a little getting used to (not much). The getting used to part is getting it in place, not wearing it.

It looks as though it would be tight, but it's not. You don't even know it's there. The only problem I have with this earphone - If I am wearing earrings, it takes me two phone rings to get it situated in my ear so I can answer the phone.

I can hear quite well through this headset, and my callers can hear me quite well. The little boom does a 180 degree turn, so it is left as well as right oriented. It is small, attractive, and easy to store. I have a tiny hook on the side of my monitor for mine.

I love it!

2 out of 5 stars Broke.......2007-06-13

I give this headset an extra star for being fairly comfortable to wear. The volume is good too...if it's working.

Like some other reviewers have mentioned, this headset's mic is prone to dying out of the blue, which is exactly what happened to mine. So you're having your usual conversation, and all of a sudden the other person can no longer hear you.

I will be buying a replacement headset for my Plantronics phone, but definitely not another of this model. If you do buy this, it might be a good idea to have a replacement ready because it's a huge hassle to have to run off to Radio Shack when your headset dies in the middle of a business call!

3 out of 5 stars Pretty lousy headset.......2007-06-12

I own 3 different headsets for my mobile phone. this by far is the worst and is now somewhere on the floor of my car forgotten but not missed. It is hard to clip it on the ear lobe, and the whole think feels quite flimsy, the mouth piece swings around on its own accord, and the sound quality not so good (i have a convertible and so they need to be quite good to overcome the wind sound maybe they'll work better elsewhere). I have 2 others that work well, of which one is the traditional blackberry headphones that come standard with new blackberry device. they don't look as good but they work better.

4 out of 5 stars Good and cheap!.......2007-06-09

Works well. People can hear me clearly and vice versa. Just wish there was a volume control feature.

5 out of 5 stars Terrific headset.......2007-05-25

The Plantronics MX150 headset delivers more volume to me and to the person I'm calling than my samsung cell phone does by itself. The calls are clear and if I have it plugged in when I place the call no one knows I'm using a headset. It's a better headset than some selling for twice as much. I bought two because the price was right. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Great Cordless Phone.......2007-05-14

Now have five of these cordless phones around my home. They work great for the price. The only weak area is the battery. The battery last about two hours on talk. Not bad.
You will enjoy this phone.

5 out of 5 stars Accessory Handset.......2007-04-21

It works very well. We have 2 handsets in addition to the base and makes it much easier to find a phone to answer. There are also many different options/functions on the phone to make life easier.

5 out of 5 stars A very good extra handset for an expandable phone........2007-04-08

Pretty nice handset. It has speakerphone and intercom features which I like and use very much. Very lightweight compared to previous models.

5 out of 5 stars Add on..........2007-03-27

I added this to my system. This one is better in that the battery seems to last longer. I think the original three contained old batteries. They were purchased from someone else.

This one is tops over the others....

5 out of 5 stars Great Multi Station Cordless Phone.......2007-03-13

I bought this product to extend my existing cordless phone. Surely the best sound quality of any home cordless phone. The only negative was that I had to move the base station away from the computer to minimize interference.

I suspect that their replacement models are just as good.

2 out of 5 stars The Opposite of Good is..........2007-07-07

In the almost three years of having owned this phone it's only been solid 2 months. The answering machine function is reliable - hence the two stars. Motorola did send a (free) replacement battery which lasted as long as the first: 6 months. You'll get 30 seconds of use from your phone for every 30 minutes it's charged. (So make sure your phone calls are short so it doesn't cut you off)

Look elsewhere.

4 out of 5 stars Decent phone for the money.......2007-06-23

This baby has come down in price and is easy to find sales on. The phone works well. I have yet to get a message to test the answering machine as I just got it on June 22nd. Set up was easy enough. The booklet was rather easy to follow. My one complaint with it is that the display text is very small. Other than that, no complaints.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this phone.......2007-06-23

As always I have bought this phone since It was under very nice deal. I was lucky that I bought it from the store atleast I could return it and got my money back without paying shipping charges.

The phone really stinks. We always heard complains from both way, My parents could not hear the voice of the other person, and the others replied the same. They often end up calling on cell phone.

One other weired thing was you will hear the "whistling" sound from the headset. If you know how a Mic provides a sund during testing, the similar sound it provided. It was so annoying that you can not even speak few words.

It did not take a long time for me to realize that the phone was not even worth paying that much amount.

One more thing the phone lacked was a speakerphone.

Also the functionality of the phone was very poor. Some times I wanted to dial any number I would see channel 6, sometimes I would see channel 30, every time diffrent numbers. I spent quite a while figuring out the logic behind it, but I couldn't.

The over all sound quality is very poor, the functionality is very poor and the look is also not at all attractive.

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy this phone.......2007-04-10

Uncomfortable to hold, especially to tuck under my ear so I can use both hands while on the phone. (Why are all cordless phones so uncomfortable??? This one is more uncomfortable than my other two cordless phones, though. )

The buttons often just don't work, so in roughly half the calls I make, if I dial a 10- or 7-digit phone number, one of the digits just won't go through, so I'll have to hang up and try the call again. This also happens with both redial and numbers programmed into memory, so I know it's not because of the way I hit the buttons. One of the digits will just not be sent.

The answering machine's sound quality is dismal. The volume of the automated voice that tells you you have one message is very loud, but the volume of the actual message is very soft. So if you turn up the volume to hear the message, the automated message blows out your eardrums. And the quality is so poor that unless the person leaving the message has stellar enunciation, you can't understand what they're saying, especially not to get a phone number correct.

There is no memory in the phone in the event of a power failure, so the clock needs to be reset each time.

The caller ID doesn't work a good 20% of the time. No number or anything appears in the screen, but my other two phones with caller ID do get the number/name, so I know it's not that the information is not available. Also, if the phone does pick up the caller ID, and I scroll to that number and hit Dial, so that it will call the number back, if it's a long distance number the call fails for lack of a 1 at the beginning. Again, my other phones will add the 1 automatically, so I don't have to write the number down and dial it manually.

This phone sucks.

1 out of 5 stars Terrible phone.......2007-03-01

What a waste of money. The answering machine quality is horrible. Most messages are garbled and cannot be understood, even with the volume maxed out. The battery died a few months after purchase. Even the sound quality of the handpiece is poor. There is a short in the power source line - if the phone's bumped, it shuts off. I believe the phone is a waste of money. The handpiece is heavy and bulky. I will stick w/ Panasonic.

5 out of 5 stars My favorite!!!!.......2007-04-03

I absolutely love my phone. I have 2 extension handsets with it. It's my favorite "toy" in the whole house. You can change the ringtone, use the phone or handset as a walkie talkie, or intercom! Best of all the speaker phone is clear and loud as if you had the phone on your ear. I'll never go back to an ordinary cordless phone.

5 out of 5 stars More than 1 year used!.......2006-12-23

And I loved. I bought in december 2005 and the product still working perfect. I RECOMEND

1 out of 5 stars Terrible telephone.......2006-12-17

This seems like a nice idea, but Motorola's excution is terrible. The phones now have a battery life that can barely last one reasonabley long call. The sound quality is average, at best, and they drop calls willy-nilly. I would never have bought these phones knowing this, and I will be avoiding Motorola for a long time to come.

2 out of 5 stars Looks nice, lot of nice features, a couple issues that ruined it for me........2006-05-31

I'd have to agree with the jazz guy's review. There are some design flaws here. I did find out how to change the # of rings on the answering machine when I called the service line. You go to devices under menu and choose answer base, then there is an option to change it there.

As stated above, there is no way to turn off or change the volume on the base ringer. This defeats the volume control on the handset.

They state on the box that 15 ringtones can be used to identify incoming callers. This really means you can choose 1 ringtone for everyone in your phone book and another for everyone else. I expected to set a ringtone for each person. Not possible.

Lastly, there is no speed dial. Just an option to choose from your phonebook which often takes more effort than dialing the number. For these reasons, I will be heading back to the store today to exchange. I should have stuck with Uniden. Had a great one for 5+ years.

5 out of 5 stars Best Phone.......2006-03-17

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Works in a difficult environment.......2007-05-14

Our previous 5.8ghz phones from VTech had a problem with our house, although the house itself isn't large at all. The phones would buzz or not have a signal at all if in the garage, master bedroom, patio, etc.
These from Motorola work very nicely. The clarity and cleaness of reception isn't like a land-line, but it's close.
It has the usual features you'd expect: caller-id, message waiting, etc.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent sound.......2007-04-13

Very easy to set up. Excellent sound quality both as a handset and speakerphone. The shared phonebook is very handy. It is very nice to need only one phone jack to install. The display lets you know if someone is using another handset so you don't interrupt their call. So far an excellent phone.

5 out of 5 stars Refurbished, and so far the best cordless phone ever........2007-04-11

We haven't but scratched the surface of what these phones can do. But, as phones, they rock.
Even more importantly, they don't destroy my wi-fi network-- which was my prime reason for going
to a 5.8GHz system. The caller ID is nice. The Voice Mail LED lights when there's a message, as no
other phone we've ever owned has done.

Bottom line: It's a phone. Well, actually, THREE phones. And they work. End of transmission.

5 out of 5 stars Great Features, Fantastic Value.......2007-03-07

I ordered this Motorola phone set to replace a failing V-tech unit after reading favorable reviews here on Amazon. Once I got the set and put it to use I found it convenient, feature-rich (the intercom feature is great) with excellent sound quality. I ordered from Tigerdirect and received the phones within 3 days of order thanks to the best shipping company in the business (Go Big Brown!). You can't miss with this phone.

4 out of 5 stars Good reception, but..........2007-02-06

This phone has very clear reception even in the extra handsets which we have on the second floor of our house. It is very convenient that you only need one phone jack for the main phone and that the others just need to be plugged into an electrical outlet. We do find sometimes that when we are talking there tends to be somewhat of an echo of your own voice that you can hear while talking. The person you are talking to doesn't hear it though. Overall a very good phone.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Love this phone system!.......2007-06-01

I'm the original "technicapped" booby, but even I was able to set up this system. After it arrived (very promptly) it sat around for 8 days and my kids kept asking when I would set it up. I'm the type that goes into a cold sweat whenever I have to deal with anything technical. I've bought umpteen phones and have NEVER entered a number in memory or used any of the features. Well, finally I got out the instructions and read right through the book. My head was swimming. Finally, I unpacked the base unit (I bought the SD7581 with speakerphone and answerphone) and the four extra handsets and charged them for 16 hours, then started registering them to the base unit. Wow! The instructions were bang on, and it all worked. With new confidence I gave each set a name, entered 5 or 6 numbers in the communal phone book, even entered the time on each set. Then I distributed them to our 5 chosen locations. This system is wonderful. The intercom use alone is worth the price...no more shouting "dinner's ready". It's so great to be able to put a handset anywhere you want, without having to have a phone jack. The sound quality is excellent, and if you walk away from the charger with a phone, the name on the viewing screen tells you where it belongs. We very soon realized we should have ordered more handsets, so I bought 4 more. I only wish I'd bought this system years ago instead of struggling with phones in inconvenient locations which always had the handset missing. I'm in telephone heaven...

5 out of 5 stars Hard to find item in Retail Stores.......2007-05-26

I was very pleased with my first order from Amazon. I had trouble finding the the item (A Motorola Expansion Handset Phone to add an additional phone for my sun porch)in Retail stores including Best Buys where I purchased the original set. The delivery was sooner that I expected and the cost was lower than it would have been if I had been able to purchase it at a Retail store.

5 out of 5 stars the best cordless we've owned.......2007-05-15

Every feature behaves as expected, reception is great in both normal and speakerphone modes. The design allows to place the handset on a desk face-down and still communicate over the speakerphone without a problem. Whole family loves it, especially the intercom and the ability to read voice mail clearly from any of the hand-sets. The only drawback is overly bright light on the charging station at night. Motorola should dim that light according to the lighting conditions, or replace this stark blue with a red or amber LED.

4 out of 5 stars Great phone - However, missing basic functionality.......2007-04-30

Sound quality is top notch. Like pretty much everything about this phone except for one thing; when the battery runs down there is no audible warning. It just simply shuts off! There is a "low battery" warning message on the LCD, but your not going to see this when your talking on the phone. Duh! I have used alot of cordless phones and have never had one that did not have this feature. Is this not a extremely obvious thing to include from a design standpoint?

4 out of 5 stars MOtorola expandable cordless telephone system........2007-04-21

Sound quality excellent, distance capabilities good, hand set speaker phone good, not excellent. Set up easy if you read the instructions. Registering each phone to the base unit became easy once I re-read the instructions and found the registration button on the base unit (and not in the menus). Has adequate ring tones on board. These handsets are meant to be kept in the cradle. Otherwise, talk time before battery expiration can become short. Battery installation wire connector gets in the way of the cover. Compared to whats out there, you wont do better for the price.

Amazon.com Product Description

A well-designed system for home offices or talkative family members, the Motorola MD7081 is built to handle two separate phone lines. Expandable to a total of eight handsets, the system includes a 30-minute digital answering system with two mailboxes. The base system is the only part that requires a phone jack, allowing you to add extra handsets wherever you like. Each handset can operate as part of an in-house intercom system, access conference calls and even function as a baby monitor; each also includes a headset jack and belt clip for hands-free operation.

The answering system is accessible from each handset, as well as the base, and allows memo recording and messages to be forwarded to cell or office numbers. With subscription to local service, each handset is call waiting/caller ID compatible, storing up to 50 names and numbers of the most recent callers. Numbers can be stored, deleted or moved into the permanent phonebook with just a few clicks. Twenty-four selectable ringtones are available, and the base is wall mountable.

With the addition of four AAA batteries (not included), the system will continue to function during power outages. Motorola includes a one-year warranty covering parts and service.

3 out of 5 stars Malfunctioning answer machine.......2007-06-27

I like the telephone and the 2 lines, but...

The answering machine has 2 problems:

1. It does not detect when the caller hangs up and keeps recording an anoying tone noise.
2. Sometimes after you delete all messages from the machine, it still indicates that there are messages available although when you try to listen to them it reports that there are no messages. This persists until you switch on and off the power of the whole thing.

2 out of 5 stars Still not impressed...........2007-05-12

I should have learned from my other Motorola handset phone years ago...they still don't really know how to make 'em like Panasonic. Sound quality is lacking. This phone functions but the buttons stick all the time on the base unit, the user interface is clumsy at best. Only decent feature is that you can have a different greeting for each line, you can set each line to anser or not, and you can access your messages easily, remotely.

3 out of 5 stars 2 line cordless phone.......2007-05-10

It took an inordinately long time for the phone to get here. The phone works well and I am pleased with it, just not with the length of time it took to get here

2 out of 5 stars Not for business use.......2007-03-09

This seems to be a fairly good quality phone. The handset is heavy duty. The answering machine menu/use is more complicated/tedious than it needs to be. The biggest problem with this phone system is that there is NO privacy feature. Anyone can pick up on a line while another person is using that line. Frustrating and unprofessional!

1 out of 5 stars Poor quality.......2007-01-29

Very disappointing. I am a fan of Motorola and own their 2-way radios and past cell phones. This phone is junky. I finally got rid of it and bought Panasonic which is an improvement. The Motorola answering system is awkward and tedious. Quality of construction is poor and Motorola finally replaced the phone. The new one is still in the box on a shelf.

3 out of 5 stars good features, buttons are not good.......2007-06-15

you need to practice and over time, you may be comfortable with the rubber buttons. they are crazy.. who would like a rubber button.. ? ohter than that, it is okay. but i will not buy this again! not comfortable to operate.. and you have to suffer everyday with that problem!

2 out of 5 stars Don't buy 5.8 GHz if you live in a stucco house........2007-05-09

I was impressed with this phone until I walked outside the house 20 feet away from the base unit and lost connectivity. I called Motorola and they said it is due to the stucco environment. It would have been nice to know this before I bought the phone. There are other stuctural components that also interfer with the phone's range, so I would check with Motorola on limitations before buying.

1 out of 5 stars A product that does not do any good for "Motorola" name.......2007-05-09

The phone died on me merely 18 months after buying !!!! Never ever in my life a cordless phone has performed so badly. Will not buy any more Motorola products and would suggest all to keep away from this phone atleast.

2 out of 5 stars Dead After 18 Months.......2007-02-12

Worked great for 18 months of very light use, then handset died. New battery was no help. Unimpressed with Motorola's long-term quality. Outside of the warranty period, so we'll see what they do...

1 out of 5 stars Works only for the warrantly period.......2007-01-05

We bought the Motorola MD 681 and just few months later the handset went bust. We were in the warranty period so Motorola replaced the entire set with another one. We were happy to get a replacement at that time. The quality of calls, coverage, and answering machine were very good. However, exactly 15 months later, the replacement handset went bust. We contacted the customer support and they tried helping, however by the looks of it, the handset was indeed dead. So we are very dis-satisfied with this model. There is no reliability in the product. We will not recommend this handset to anyone.

1 out of 5 stars JUNK!!!!.......2007-01-31

actually purchased the SD7561...(has no keypad on base) The handsets have terrible static. I was on the phone with Motorola tech support all the time...no handset range, your own voice echoed in the handset....I returned the entire system.

5 out of 5 stars Seems to have everything you could want or need........2007-01-25

I purchased this to replace an old Sony cordless phone/answer machine my Mom had for 10+ years that would hiccup everytime the power fluctuated. This phone has the digital answer machine we needed and much, much more that we didn't need. She is happy with the features she uses but was a bit intimidated by all it offers. The only thing I can vouch for is that it seems to have good battery life, sound quality, and the answer machine has worked much better in the few months we've had it, so we are happy. It does have battery back-up so you don't have to re-record your message constantly due to power fluctuations, which solved our most frustrating problem with the older Sony. I would recommend this phone to meet the normal users needs, and probably many of those wishing for more. I like the fact that you may expand the system, something we might consider in the future.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect!.......2007-05-29

Since I have seen some bad reviews on this phone I thought I would clear some things up. I just got this phone a few days ago with an additional cordless unit. The phone is simply amazing and more than I expected. Call clarity is perfect for both the corded and cordless handsets. I am using it with a cable phone service btw. The display is informative and easy to read. You can view the phonebook on the cordless handsets after programming them on the base unit. You can name the base or cordless handsets if you like so you know where everything belongs. For example, you can name a handset "Living Room" or "Bedroom" so if you have more than one, you know where to return them too. Range is also better than I expected. My daughter took one cordless down to the end of our block and it was crystal clear. I would certainly purchase this again or recommend it to friends.

4 out of 5 stars Good phone and value........2007-05-07

It has what is says and it does it too. Warranty guaranteed by Motorola. Fair price. Voice clarity in doubt.

If you have a VOip phone , deactivate the voicemail in you phone service, because if you don't, your phone display will show incoming voicemails but when you listen to them, the phone-base display will keep on showing them as if they were new and never listened to them; and you will have to return the phone for warranty to Motorola.

2 out of 5 stars Can't mute the outgoing message or call screening on the base unit!!.......2007-05-06

I bought this phone as on impulse at RadioShak relying on Motorola's reputation. I guess I should have used my cellphone to check the Amazon reviews before buying it! I was very surprised to find that you cannot mute the outgoing message or call screening on the base unit. So surprised that I checked with Motorola and they confirmed this. Basically it's badly designed which is extraordinary given the experience Motorola has - for goodness sake, it's their business. Anyway, fortunately this is a low use line and I am only using one of the two line inputs in an area where people will not be disturbed by the uncontrolable call screening. The only good thing is that the phone combines corded with cordless and so will still be useable if there is a power cut.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent phone.......2007-04-10

Love this phone. Convience of a wireless and the ease of use of a corded phone. Excellent display. Great choice of ringers.

1 out of 5 stars waste of money.......2007-03-20

this phone has been the worst purchase I have made in a long time. you can only link one base unit with mulitply handhelds, (ie: no intercom capability between them). it won't store the new time with the early day lights savings time. you have to be RIGHT ON TOP of the screen to see the display, the wall bracket does not double at a tilt to make the display easier to read from your desk. motorola is USELESS.
