GE 26980GE1 900 MHz Cordless Bedroom Phone

Product Description

Amazon.com Review
The GE 26980ge1 900-MHz cordless BedroomPhone with AM/FM clock radio is perfect for two people who don't necessarily want to wake up at the same time. It has a dual-wake alarm that lets you set two different times and choose either the buzzer or radio. It also includes a cordless phone in a single, neat package.

In our tests, the clock radio was easy to set up. It has digital tuning and can be preset to store six of your favorite stations. A sleep feature lets you set the radio to turn off automatically up to 60 minutes after a preset time, and the "nite light" feature lets you set the alarm or change radio stations in the dark.

The cordless phone also includes an array of useful features. The Flash button opens a new line when you finish a call or if you need to use call waiting. Pressing the mute button on the handset places callers on hold and mutes the line while they're waiting for your return, and there's a page/find function to locate the handset if it's misplaced.

The phone can store 10 telephone numbers up to 16 digits long, making the memory feature perfect for both local and long-distance dialing. All things considered, the BedroomPhone with AM/FM clock radio is a fine, compact solution to your nightstand clutter. --Megan Dugan

4 out of 5 stars Good Basic Cordless Phone And Clock Radio.......2007-01-12

If you are looking for something fancy and techy, keep looking. This is a nice basic phone/clock radio that doesn't take up too much space on your night stand, and doesn't look too bad either. I like it. It suits my needs for a bedroom phone just fine.

2 out of 5 stars No Caller ID.......2007-01-09

I was disapointed w/ this purchase. The phone does not have caller ID, which I should have seen from the description. However, when I contacted the seller to return the item, I was told I had to pay shipping, PLUS a restocking fee. I ended up giving it away as a "white elephant" gift.

4 out of 5 stars I've had this phone for years.......2006-12-14

I bought this phone several years ago on clearance from Walmart to replace an alarm clock and a corded phone. I had my doubts, because my first cordless phone was GE, and it was awful. . . but for the price, I figured I'd give it a try.

This unit has worked well for me for nearly 5 years now -- the only complaint I would have about it, and this is minor, is that when I press the button to answer a call, it takes a second to open the line. Not a huge deal, because it's a bedroom phone, and I seldom receive calls when I'm sleeping, anyway.

The setup is not really complicated, it's just that every digital thing is a little different, which makes for a fun morning for daylight savings weekends!

I also love the little built-in nightlight; it doesn't actually shed much light - more a glow - which is ususally just enough to keep me from stepping on the cat if I have to get up during the night.

I'd definitely recommend this.

2 out of 5 stars fair to good while it lasted........2005-09-25

I have had this phone/clock/radio for a few years now and was, at first, happy to have one item replace two on my nightstand. It worked okay at first; though the radio reception wasn't that great, I mainly used it to wake up so that didn't bother me too much. Then the phone became contentious; mostly when calling out, I could hear the person on the other end of the line but they could not hear me. It seems there is not another all-in-one like this so it looks like I will have to buy two items to replace it - when I get around to it.

1 out of 5 stars This phone has got a problem!!.......2004-02-15

I just have to say that exactly the same thing happened to me. After 12 months the phone just stopped working where I could here the person on the other line but they couldn't hear me. Thank goodness Frontgate gave me my money back.
