    Nothing beats a live performance...and these don't fail...from LuPone's great ARGENTINA, Sting's SOMEONE, Sheena Eastons' FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, Seal's great CRAZY, Dionne Warick's I'LL NEVER LONG THIS WAY AGAIN and Anita Baker's GOD BLESS THE CHILD....what more can you ask for...this is a great series to own...get all four volumes!!!

    The only reason I give this title 3 stars is because of the song selection. There are some great songs, but the performances leave a little to be desired. See for yourself, but you'd probably do better buying individual cds as opposed to trying to get several songs you like with this one.

      My mom was a nursery school teacher in my childhood, so that she could be with me during the day. She got this tape for me when i was very small, and I absolutely adored it! I was elated to find it is still available. This is a completely wonderful album for little ones, and although your friends and loved ones may tease you mercilessly, I promise you're not too old for it even if you're not quite a little one anymore!

      I say it is better for the 3 and over because the beginning of the CD has a monologue about getting ready for rest time. Kids under 3 don't follow those kind of routines. They have the children imagine being on a beach, holding a gold coin, and counting backwards ( and many more) to prepare to relax and rest. The songs all have a different sound, like an asian influenced song and spanish influenced. It is really great for rest time and I would recommend it for that. It isn't a circletime CD, like the other greg and steve cds.

      I am a teacher and the first time I heard this CD was when I was switched from teaching Sixth Grade to Kindergarten. My teaching partner had this and she used it during her nap time. It didn't take me long before I was looking forward to humming along with the music. I bought it for my 7 year old daughter and she'll put this on by herself to go to sleep to. It's an instrumental that almost has an exotic sound to it. It's not that "baby" lullabye type music, yet it's more sophisticated than that. It's well done, soothing and relaxing. I'm buying it as gifts for my family and friends. The beauty of this CD is that it's for ALL ages and although my daughter is almost 8, we're sure to get YEARS of listening out of this CD. Highly recommended.

      Greg and Steve are wonderful children's artists. This CD is a compilation of quiet music. We use it during rest time in our pre-kindergarten class. Each year, I find, after a few listenings, the children are humming along with the music. It's simple and enjoyable. A plus for any classroom.

        As a pastor in a busy family of five, I often find myself in the evenings trying to write sermons or letters with a TV blaring in one room and the children conversing noisily in another. It is difficult to concentrate. I can play this CD, put on my headphones, and I am in another world -- a Christian contemplative universe where the words flow and my heart is made mellow and open to insight. I highly encourage this CD for quiet time, prayer time, or anytime one hungers for peace.

        When this album was recorded (circa 1974), Billy Brown had been leading The Moments since the virtual beginning of their career.
        Only the first single on the group, "Not On The Outside", did not
        feature Brown (it was sung by Mark Greene). Billy's ultra-high, sweet tenor led The Moments on so many great hits, the greatest being "Love On A Two-Way Street". But at one point Billy and Al Goodman found themselves in need of a third member, and at that same time, Billy came down with a serious ailment of his throat.
        The solution was to bring in Harry Ray to sing lead, while Billy
        concentrated on backgrounds to give his voice a chance to recover. Thus, the "Look At Me" album featured Ray throughout. The title cut led off the album and hit #1 R&B. As the guys were
        enjoying tremendous success in the European market, they also recorded the song in French, and Harry did a fine job of infusing
        his sensuality into the recording. Similarly, the popular club cut "Girls" (featuring The Whatnauts) was recorded in both languages. Ray expresses a very serious, very sincere male viewpoint on the album cuts "I Feel So Good Again" and "Come Away With Me". These songs would definitely do when the lights are low, but on the other hand, "Got To Get To Know You" is the kind of lively, upbeat number that would have gone over well at the opening of a live performance. "Dolly My Love" was a major hit in Britain. So this studio album represents the good news of this 2-on-1 release. The bad news is that during the live performance at a woman's prison, Billy still did not have the voice to sing all of the great hits he'd fronted since 1969. The result is a performance that spotlights Ray singing covers of songs made popular by others. Brown only gets to unveil his fragile tenor chops for a brief medley toward the end of the show, and he is reduced to mainly scatting and ad-libbing, for there was no way he was going to be able to reach the high notes on, for example, "I Do"! If you can imagine it, the appearance closed with Al Goodman taking the lead on a rather lengthy take on "Going In Circles," a big hit for The Friends of Distinction!
        The incarcerated female audience certainly appreciated the guys, as they shrieked their rapture throughout the set, despite the lack of hit Moments material. So there you have it: Part one of this release is just fine, but part two is a bit disappointing. But if you are a big fan of The Moments (or Ray, Goodman & Brown), you'll enjoy the package on the whole.

            I have listened to this CD over 100 times already. The original compositions are amazing and the hymn arrangements are unlike anything I have heard before. I never get tired of listening.
