Album Description
Understanding the Terrorist Attack of September 11th, 2001 is difficult for all of us. This poem captures the experience as see through the eyes of the child in all of us.

Hannah, my sweet nine year old narrates the following poem, with "America the Beautiful" playing in the back ground. We also have it available on a matted print, for $4. You can call 1-801-488-7381.

"I guess I'm just too young - I don't un'erstan' it at all

Why people would crash the pen'agon - an' make two towers fall.

Daddy says they stole some planes - then all the passengers died.

Mommy says the whole world mourned - but all I did was cry.

Brother bragged about real brave guys - tacklin' the evil men.

who were plannin' to hurt other folks - by flyin' into them.

Sister gave some blood - to keep hurt ones alive.

My Auntie made a blanket - to warm them up inside.

My Uncle gave some money - wishing he could donate more.

The Mayor told us firemen died - while helpin' others out the door.

Gran'pa got outta his wheelchair - declarin' he'd be proud to go.

Gran'ma brought out a huge ol' flag - hung it half way on the pole.

Our President raised his fists - vowin' to find those cowardly guys.

An' neighbors hugged each other - while visitin' outside.

My Teacher taught in history - People killed for power an' hate.

Our Preacher admitted he couldn't e'splain - why God - came too late.

He said we all will live again - the dead were takin' back to God.

But I feel so sad for the boys an' girls - without a Ma & Pa.

Everyone is getting ready - they say we're goin' to war.

To punish the mean people - so they won't do this any more.

I guess I'm just too young to know - how this brought us to our knees.

But everyone - ‘cludin' me - is prayin', "God - Help us - Please!"
