Editorial Reviews
Album Description
French and French-inspired harpsichord music recorded on an instrument by Edward Turner based on a double-manual Couchet now in Brussels. The instrument is tuned according to Rousseau's description. The CD includes suites by Froberger, Chambonnières (with D'Anglebert's "Doubles"), LeRoux and Marchand, as well as D'Anglebert's Tombeau for Chambonnières and transcriptions of works by Gautier and Lully. The sound is rich and the interpretations not only well informed but worth hearing. 8-page booklet with notes on the repertoire and the instrument.
