Since their debut performance in January 2004, the group has been going where no other classical group has ventured, performing their original new classical music on the same bill as pop acts like Bobby McFerrin, singer/song-writer Ben Jelen (whose 2004 effort on Maverick Records Give It All Away debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Heat-Seekers Chart), Rejane Magloire (Technotronic) and in places like New York's Cutting Room, the Cannes Film Festival and Sir Elton John's Vienna Life Ball. I didn't think it was possible, but Travels is even better than Neo Camerata's first CD, Journey of Mind and Emotion. If you haven't discovered the new sound of composer Mark Landson and the talented group called Neo Camerata, you owe it to yourself to listen to this CD. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastically modern classical music.......2005-11-17

Its form is classical, and the classical tradition can be heard, but there is also a freshness to it that is energizing. We know that the classical masters are great, but it's like listening to Led Zeppelin, you know it's great but the 500th time you've heard it fails to excite. We've all heard Mozart, Bach, etc. a million times whether we like classical music or not. This is your chance to get in on the ground floor of some new great music in the classical tradition.

It's accessible for those just getting in to classical music, but clearly performed by very talented individuals, who have a lot to say musically.

I say, get it, play it, enjoy it.

Music to feed your soul.......2005-11-15

I just saw Neo Camerata at the Irving Symphony this past weekend. It was a phenomenal show. I had visited their website (www.neocamerata.com) previously, and was intrigued with their unique sound, and was brought to tears upon hearing them live. This is a group of musicians that are ecstatic about playing beautiful music, and it shows in their live performance, and transends on to their CD. After the concert, I played the CD for my son, who is now humming the Travels tune with the music.

As a first grade teacher, I am always searching for new things to introduce my students to. We listened to Neo C's CD Monday morning, and the kids were mesmerized. It was certainly a nice transition to school from the weekend.

This CD is worth every penny you'll pay for it. It will recharge your batteries, relax your soul, and inspire your thoughts. Enjoy!

Mark Landson TRULY puts his heart and soul into all of his endeavours and it shows in this masterpiece. This one is a MUST HAVE for any serious or not so serious music lover. Bravo !

Dream Travels was recorded by the late engineer David Baker and produced by Janet Grice. In this acoustic jazz release Janet explores the beautiful timbres of the bassoon and recorder in compositions by group members and Brazilian composers Egberto Gismonti, Hermeto Pascoal and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Janets unusual use of the bassoon - a deep-pitched double reed instrument usually associated with the symphony orchestra - was hailed as a gutsy, original idea and a dazzling display of woodwind technique on Song For Andy, her first record. Dream Travels represents beloved places, people, and journeys of the mind, body and spirit. Janets original compositions - the introspective Dream Brother, smooth Summers End, high-energy Affinity, and virtuosic Searching For A Choro - reflect her classical background and love of Brazilian music. A jazz pianist of extraordinary talent, Armen Donelians compositions have been described as downright haunting, as in his hypnotic song Mexico. The Brazilian rhythm section of drummer Vanderlei Pereira and bassist Nilson Matta - who composed the joyful Paraty - provides the dancing groove that supports soulful improvisations. Brazilian compositions on the CD include Bebê, Loro and Felicidade.
